- Cal Kestis Uses the Dark side of the force to destroy Dagan Gera, scenes and boss fight gameplay showcase from Star Wars Jedi Survivor captured on PS5 using elgato card and gaming PC. All raw footage were captured and edited by me with an added narrative.

Force powers are not inherently good or evil, it's how you use them.
@@oxyman10 no force powers especially those of the dark side are corrupting by nature, but that doesn’t mean they have no use, and it doesn’t mean that one with sufficient will cannot use evil tools for noble ends

1:00 - He was a child when the Republic fell. Dagan is more of a failure for not protecting Tanalorr, at least he was a fully adult trained High Republic Era Jedi Knight when that happened.
Actually Dagan defended Nihil's invasion, but Jedi Council decided to leave that anyway.
@@wojtekreliga3881 - I think you miss my point. I am only saying that Dagan has no right to call him a failure when he himself is also a failure, especially when you take into account that Cal was a kid when the Republic fell you cannot put any of that failure/blame on him.

There was a lot of potential in Dagan, if only he wasn't relegated to "TANALORR IS MINE!!!" Hope he is more significant in the next game. Barring his pride, he was actually a pretty solid character. I don't understand why we needed another hubris driven character when Vader was already in the game.
nah, hes dead, he was shot, stabbed and sliced, he stayed dead, there was a body so he is dead. plus at the end of the game cal drops his lightsabers and walks into the sunset

is it wierd if i think that a good 30% of the problem is the name "Tanalorr" something about it just bugs and I realize thats just nit picking. But I think the other problem is the actor for Dagan isnt great.
@@hellcapidan9772 Yeah, Tanalorr just sounds so generic. 30% might be a stretch, but it definitely doesn't sell it's importance. And the acting wasn't on point with Dagan either but some of his lines just make you ask why the hell was he a character in the first place.
I just realised that Bode’s voice actor is also Charles Smith from RDR2

Standing with your back to a wounded, though a potentially dangerous enemy, who is capably of shooting at you with a blaster gun, is something one would not expect from a skillful Jedi.

Honestly I can buy it. Bode wasn’t supposed to be released from the illusion. It was only through Cal’s influence, and I’d argue primarily through stabbing Dagan, that the illusion broke enough to allow Bode to move again.
Dagan on the other hand views Bode as pathetic. A non threat. So that coupled with his illusion immobilizing Bode I’m not surprised he didn’t view Bode as a threat
I actually wish that Dagen would track Cal and His companions on Jedha and maybe a 3-way battle between him, Cere, and Vader!!! If Dagen was the "Anakin" of the High Republic Era, then he could have the potential to Damage Vader!!!
I mean that was never going to happen given Jedha had no connection to Koboh and Tanalorr. And Cere did just fine against Vader given the circumstances. The database makes a point of saying Vader was mere moments from defeat, he got real lucky just barely moving her blade aside at the last second.

at the end of the day most "dark" side abilities are just abilities fueled by emotions, and letting your feelings control you and fuel you can be dangerous so they call it "dark"

@@lumberluc I’ve played kotor 2 and that’s a completely seperate ability. There are good break downs on it. Kreia can have an lightsaber in both hands (before it got cut off in the beginning of the game) and still have three floating lightsabers attacking and defending.

So potent he’s able to create duplicates of himself and do whatever shit he wants. I’m not saying he would beat Vader I’m saying he would give him one hell of a fight stop, the D Riding Vader we know he is strong.🤦♂️

Is there any justification in the game for the fact that a lightsaber strike does not kill, but only causes damage and a glowing strip? And the same goes for the projection of the hand that holds the sword?
The lightsaber strike was just a glancing blow, the project is just that Dagan is that skilled in the force.
This battle was a Force hallucination. Dagan made Cal think that he died in his mind.
something something power settings? something something maybe they arent strong as they used to be or power that fuels them needs to be rationed more. At least that would be a theory when referencing OLD af source material iirc. Not an expert, could be completely wrong.

I hate that they made a cool looking force user just to kill him off. He even started half naked like Malicos.
Maybe in the next game someone forgot the trousers and wears a top to cover the upper body strength.

Cal was completely outclassed by this High Republic Jedi. Only won due to a cheap trick. Should’ve kept him alive for another game tho. Daegan vs Vader would’ve been interesting

@critter critter before the overwhelming might of Vader many have fallen to his control. Many of the inquisitors swore they would never serve the dark side until they met Vader.

What is the name of the dark side ability he uses?
Given they describe it as a "Force hallucination that draws on your worst fear", I'm assuming a mix of Memory Walk and Force Fear.
Its Force Fear just very ramped up. Which is the dark side counterpart to the light sides Force persuasion or "mind tricks" as its.more colloquially known. Cal uses mind tricks back on Dagan to convince him he was seeing his santari khri.
@@mikeb53 It could be also mixed with Force Illusion, as he was creating doubles of himself, and since it draws on your personal worst fear, it could be Memory Walk as well.
Missed opportunity for a 3 on 1 fight where Cal, Bode and Merrin all gang up on Dagan and still barely survive, not only to emphasize just how big of a threat Dagan actually was but also because I find it really weird that Merrin would just sit back and wait while Cal goes straight into the Lion's den with just Bode as backup, it just feels out of character for her. It would also be awesome as fuck to get at least one fight where you have two companions to spam instead of just one.

nah from what i understand of this scene he understood it was a illusion based on fear and was able to use Dagan's fear against him, if anything he used fear and exploited someone's emotions but this wasn't what fully started his dark side path, i think it started with Ravis and made him doubt his code

Dagan Gera is correct. The arrogance of the Jedi Order allow Sith Lords like Sidious to rise, forge an empire from within and wipe them all out with three haunting words.

I just finished Jedi survivor story and dagan was the best part and most interesting, it felt like so unique and didn’t feel like Star Wars but when he died, the story became less interesting although the darth vader scene was cool but still rayvis and dagan were amazing, after his death the story felt generic as we had to fight the empire as usual

he may actually be able to, Jedi was said to be at the peak of their power during the High Republic era, Palpatine was only able to pull off what he did due to the Jedi becoming arrogant and declined from their peak.

Palpatine loses to Vader who is mostly crippled and Luke who does not have as extensive training as those Jedi before the order fell. Windu also beats him had Anakin didnt interfered. He is not that powerful, at least not in combat.
Vader is crippled physically, but his cyborgs enhancements make up for any physical incapabilites. Also, Vader never beat Palpatine. Each time they have fought in current canon, Palpatine has easily defeated him. Dagan was struggling to beat Cal who is fodder to Vader.
@yggunshot8402 exactly high republic jedi were definitely stronger fighters then the rule of two jedi but rule of 2 sith are waaaaaaaay way stronger then the Era of the sith empire
