I love Chillin’s commentary, I think he’s my favorite commentator in Melee. Does a brilliant job building the narrative of the match and focusing on the most interesting and salient aspects of the players’ decisions.
Wouldn't say so at all, he has lost to many players lower in strength than him. Every mc in this anime so far has clutched out a win from the jaws of defeat. But he's also lost just as much and isnt winning anything now adays

I feel like as a community we overuse “choke” too much and we see the top player just crawl back into victory, but my god. That was one of the biggest chokes I have ever seen.
OH MY GOD this was insane. I know people say its a "spaghetti" and stuff but thats downplaying the intensity of Mang0's reverse 3-0 comeback here, so insane... and then he goes on to win the tourney what a champ
Mang0 playing that mental/momentum game is intense. From a spectators standpoint it can look like plot armor or w/e but its always been clear that he has a genius level understanding of the mental game, he is fantastic at downloading people's habits and punishing them brutally, not to mention being very attuned to his opponent's mental state. Not only this but he is amazing at taking advantage of people's overconfidence and beating them when they're down. Like the fact that first match was 3-0 was no fluke, he was building SD up so he could tear him down, because the only thing that matters is the set itself. In fact rewatch that match again after finishing the video, it perfectly illustrated this point. He's conditioning Swedish with a shitty unaggressive playstyle that can be punushed with BnB and only starts breaking out his aggression in the third game. Even then he doesn't want to go all the way, and continues giving him ins so that the momentum doesn't run him into a wall, he doesnt go all out until the last game. What's even more dirty is the way this starts to look if you think Mang0 threw the second game after taking those first few stocks. Imagine what's going on in their heads, Mang0 has confirmed that he has all the tools to beat swedish, he chooses to lose on his counter pick just to bloat swedish's confidence even more. Think of how swedish must felt. I beat him on his counterpick, the BEST falco stage, I'm in the lead, I am GOING to win. Thats the damage mang0 has done and then repeats the first part of game 2 but this time he wins. This isn't supposed to happen, then it's all downhill from there. Watch how he instantly illusions needles that gimped him in the first game, the way he demolishes swedish's chaingrab options, those are not guesses, that is the download at work. Like I'm sure I'm not the only one who could see his dramatic shifts in playstyle and intensity, watch the set again, SD got played.

It's not magic but it is a higher level understanding of your win condition. Mang0 has this, it just wouldn't make sense otherwise for him to have such a consistent record of comeback wins.
