Most professionally done bike review I've ever watched, and I've been riding for 40 years. Getting an E-bike for wifey, and this looks like the one. A warning to you newbies to biking - DON'T GO CHEAP, e-bike or not.
Received my Model S in April and find it an excellent way for an old beat up disabled retired veteran to get exercise. Young company with growing pains but responsive and helpful.
@Electric Bike Report, too Hi, Thanks for your comment. I am also disabled and old. How tall are you. I am 6'. Is the leg reach good? I also live In San Francisco and at one of the hilly parts of the city. I am on the corner. To the left is 25% grade up, forward is at 25% grade up, back is 25% grade going down, to the right is the easiest at 15% grade up. I need power.
After reviewing this impressive and incredible electric bike video....Electric Bike would definitely be my next future investment down the road. I'm actually purchasing my very first electric bike towards the end of this month. I just started following you guys and subscribed your channel last night. I'm completely hooked to every video you guys post. And sync with all the insightful information from you guys. I'm so pumped to be a part of a world and congregation bike unity. I'm trying to save money on not having to pay monthly for a car, spend access dollars on maintenance on a car, and I'm literally only 2 miles away from my work place which is pretty convenient. Also, having this electric bike in my corner will open up so many more possibilities for me. So I want to say thank you to guys for opening my eyes to something that I didn't realize how much I miss doing as a kid. And now as a full-time grown adult, I'm learning to be more eco friendly. I really respect and appreciate what you men and women are posting and what you have educated me on more. I'M EXCITED!!!! You all are super awesome!!!!
My Escooter blew a motor. I got approved for a warranty replacement but The part is out of stock until next month. I decided to buy this S model Ebike. I'll be using it for gig work but the reason I decided to go with this is being able to get some exercise which I really need. This is honestly what I should have went with to begin with as working with my scooter made me realize I don't really need to go any faster than 40MPH.
Thank you, my husband and I are just starting our search for an electric bike. I found your review exceptional. I appreciate all the time and the information.
I grew up with single speed bicycles, and I'm never going back, no matter what name is given to the type bike I buy. Shifting gears is not difficult, you feel it in your legs when it's time!
@@ElectricBikeReport yes, but don't recommend in reviews that a single speed is alright, and set up the duck for people to order it that way, when the 7-speed would be better for most people, even on a "cruiser".
turn off the limiter then do the hill test at full throttle only. should do much better. also please do a review of their model d awd. I'm really curious about that bike and no one has a review of it. my guess is probably due to the 4k price tag
We test bikes as they ship, so no can do on turning off the limiter. The Model D may or may not have just arrived.... 👀 Stay tuned over the coming weeks.
I'm taking a look at this bike and considering it. I was wondering if anyone might be able to tell me if a regular clip on pannier might fit on that rear rack? Specifically, I'm wanting to clip on the Tourbon pannier. I only ask because I can't tell if that rear mounted battery case might get in the way of a regular clip on.
I notice a lot of electric bike reviewers use that particular hill. Would you be able to give me that location? I thought it was in Utah but I don’t know the particular town. Would love to try it I’m not far
Yes the max output is 1250w - so if you need the power- it’s is there - as the controller is a 26amp max output - but constant nominal is 500w Most riding is done at 180w - 250w Thanks
E-Bike Question of the Day ⚡🚴 How would you customize your Electric Bike Company Model S? Let us know in the comments below 👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼
One of the best electric cruisers money can buy.

Glad your logging some miles on the road. All the best 🤙

EBC is a fine company. I bought the model R from them.
Agreed! We enjoyed the Model R as well.

Glad it was helpful!
I grew up with single speed bicycles, and I'm never going back, no matter what name is given to the type bike I buy.
Shifting gears is not difficult, you feel it in your legs when it's time!
Fortunately on this e-bike EBC makes it easy to add a 7-speed at checkout

1:45 you mention it has a 500W motor.
2:43 you mention it has a 1250W motor.
The website says it has a 750W motor.
Please do a thorough review of model R. I've seen the older review. The reviews you are doing now are superior to the older reviews.
Thanks for the great review!
Thanks for watching, Steve!
Such an awesome review and thank you ‼️‼️

Love that it is American made. Are the frames welded in The USA?
Frames,Chainguards,Baskets,Brakes all come from China and the suspension forks are from Taiwan
Excellent video! I may have missed it but did the test bike have the optional torque sensor? thanks
Thank you! I don't believe this one did. We've tested it on other EBC bikes though and it works well.
Looks like EBC had an all day testing of their bikes in Utah.

What is the weight of the bike with battery and without
I’m ready to buy one of these. The only question is if I could put surfboard racks on one of these, especially for a longboard?
I believe you can?? You could always email EBC and find out.
I notice a lot of electric bike reviewers use that particular hill. Would you be able to give me that location? I thought it was in Utah but I don’t know the particular town. Would love to try it I’m not far
How can I buy this in Canada?? I’ve tried and I can’t find a way
Plz review model R.

The video predates some of the tests we now do as standard, but we very much enjoyed our time on the Model R.
Can you take this bike on light trails?
This is a really nice looking bike. And one I can touch my feet on the ground with too@
I am sold on this one. I hear it has a battery that can go up to 200 mile range.
They have very large battery options if you want to upgrade to it.
Is it my imagination or did that motor sound unusually loud?

You say the motor is 500w and then 1250w... would you edit that? The size looks 500w.
Yes the max output is 1250w - so if you need the power- it’s is there - as the controller is a 26amp max output - but constant nominal is 500w
Most riding is done at 180w - 250w
Thanks
What they said 👆 😄
Sorry for the confusion, was speaking in terms of wondering if we'd push the motor to the peak on the hill.
@@ElectricBikeReport Thanks (both) for clearing my misunderstanding.
