    This was a really good detailed review. I learned a bit more about this bike than I learned on a couple of other reviews that I've seen. Thank you.

    Great review, gosh I am a little disappointed at the lack of range given the extra $1000 for the upgraded battery, I would have thought that even at full throttle you would have gotten at least 70 or 80 miles?

      So did I, but to be fair, I do punish these bikes during my reviews.

    Yes range significantly depending on PAS level and now all upgraded tech displays come with percentage reading on display

    • @scotthardesty

      Yup. I never get the range stated due to how I ride the bikes. Thats a great thing about the display. Good to hear!

    Scott good reading this review. I was comforting the Mokwheel Basalt ST or Scoria vs. the Model R. Am I nuts to fork out almost double the price for the EBC? The other thing that worries me is the torque. I saw this bike had trouble getting up a small hill by throttle only. Didn’t Mokwheel get up that same incline? Any thoughts on that bike vs. this one? Thanks for all your reviews!

    • @gores95
      @gores95 6 месяцев назад

      Also Scott did you get the torque sensor with your Model R?

    • @scotthardesty
      @scotthardesty  6 месяцев назад

      I did get the torque sensor. There are some quirks for sure with this bike. As you saw in the review, it didn't perform that well on the hill climb (I think my scoria did just fine, you might want to rewatch that review) and battery didn't go close to what they were advertising. Now, this thing was the nicest riding bike out of anything I had ridden, but for 5k it should be. All I can tell you is, I still have my Scoria.

    • @gores95
      @gores95 6 месяцев назад

      Yeah I am getting the message from your review and others that there definitely are issues with this $4K plus cruiser. As much as I loved designing the bike online it’s not worth double the Mokwheel or Aventon. Thanks for your reply.

  • @watchmanonthewall14

    Heavy riders, 16 lb in the basket, full bags in the back, using PA 5 with throttle often and Hill climbing will absolutely destroy your range. The only way this bike gets close 150 mile range is in PA 1 on flat surface with continuous pedaling and no wind. All ebike companies are deceptive about their max ranges. And that ain't gonna happen.
    I've ridden 3,500 miles on the now discontinued Model F. If you want more insights about that, let me know.

    • @scotthardesty
      @scotthardesty  5 месяцев назад +1

      I agree with you. No way was going to get close to 150 miles. I wonder why they discontinued the Model F?

    • @watchmanonthewall14
      @watchmanonthewall14 5 месяцев назад +1

      @@scotthardesty They sell a lot of bikes, but Model F was a low volume seller. Most people don't need a folding bike, as well as that the ergonomics of the bike needed to be changed a bit. Mine has 24 x 3 tires with a single battery. Vigorously pedaling in PA 3 and occasionally using the throttle, I get in the upper 20s on a fully charged battery. I am enjoying the bike! Happy riding to you.

    2.5k-5k is very overpriced. So many other options with better equipment and with purchase of additional battery, you'll get the same range. Burned through a 14ah battery in 17 miles. Might as well get a cargo bike.

    • @scotthardesty
      @scotthardesty  Год назад +1

      @@scotthardestyI think they are extremely reluctant to do paid reviews, ones that have a link that pays the reviewer for referred sales, I’m not sure if that is your model. Their reasoning is that they want unbiased honest reviews. They give bikes away for free to reviewers I think, but have given affiliate links sparingly. At this point, they should probably reconsider their hesitation for affiliate marketing although they can’t meet current demand. You’re welcome to come up to the North Shore and try mine. I think you would fully appreciate the 60v and the value these guys are offering. It would be good for your channel as the bikes are Uber popular but they are in short supply. You make very nice videos and I love the Chicago backdrop.

      @@Angel283 Why ask? Oh so you can say but this bike is made in AMERICA. At the end of the day I think most of us AMERICANS know a bad value when we see it regardless of where it was made. And read your warranty. For a bike so well made they cover shit. And charge for everything after 30 days. I had an issue with a front motor being a little loud after six months. I got a new one with the tube and tire sent to me free.
