People please don't upgrade the SSD over the RAM if you're limited on budget. You can always buy an external SSD that is as fast as the internal storage, and for much cheaper. The SanDisk Professional 1TB PRO-G40 SSD for example is even faster than the internal storage, and you get 1TB for the price of adding an additional 256 GB of internal storage on the MacBook Air. However you'll be memory swapping with 8GB of RAM if you do anything else than light multi-tasking.

Highly disagreee if you spend extra money don't spend it on SSD spend it on RAM. you can connect an external SSD you. can't do that with RAM
Releasing them every year isn't about continually exciting you personally. It'a about keeping them up to date so that if someone is spending money on it they're getting an up to date machine.
I agree with you. Base models with 8Gb of RAM and 256Gb SSD will be hard to keep up its power over the years and to sustain a user more powerful demand change. I prefer to bump the memory up. And use a fast external SSD drive if I need more storage. I hope Apple finally bumps all base models to 16Gb of RAM soon. My personal current Mac is a M2 Pro 14” with 32Gb of RAM and 512Gb SSD. I am sure it will hold well during 5 years use easily.
Oh and BTW, apple is still making the m1 MacBook Air secretly and Walmart is the official retailer, apple wound's sell it so it doesn't compete against the new models, the price is 699USD. in my opinion I would always try to upgrade the ram over the storage if I only could choose one at least in the performance stand point, when it comes to storage, you can manage that by using an external storage device, where as the ram will eventually slow you down when it maxes our and "YES READ THIS" (the risk of killing your internal SSD earlier due to swap memory) Swap memory is not a a good solution for the long term and if your planning to keep the machine it won't be good.

Highly disagreee if you spend extra money don't spend it on SSD spend it on RAM. you can connect an external SSD you. can't do that with RAM
Hii Andres, Thank you For supporting us❤, Should I buy Base M2 air or Base m3 air for My CSE Degree For atleast longevity of 5 years?
neither, use that money for a 16/512 m1 or m2 refurbished or used. you need ram not a cpu upgrade
id love to see a developer workflow comparison between the M3pro 14in MBP and your M2 pro MBP
Releasing them every year isn't about continually exciting you personally. It'a about keeping them up to date so that if someone is spending money on it they're getting an up to date machine.
With the first shot I legit thought that it was the new office space 😂
I agree with you. Base models with 8Gb of RAM and 256Gb SSD will be hard to keep up its power over the years and to sustain a user more powerful demand change.
I prefer to bump the memory up. And use a fast external SSD drive if I need more storage.
I hope Apple finally bumps all base models to 16Gb of RAM soon.
My personal current Mac is a M2 Pro 14” with 32Gb of RAM and 512Gb SSD. I am sure it will hold well during 5 years use easily.
Where is your TV
I’m still debating on getting a MacBook Air uhh would be worth for editing video??
🤩🤩 especially with the new M1 chip it feels like both pro and air are the same
What the theme name you use ?
