@@omarbirkdar5536 I got lucky on NIlou's banner and got her C2. Seems like it would net more consistent overall damage than the occasional bloom crit, but Nahida C2 would clearly do more for your account overall as she can go into more teams.
I’m gonna guess the crux of this video will revolve around Cyno being hyperbloom with extra steps. (Edit) I partially changed my mind Zajef spread misinfo in this video like the plague. Quickbloom is NOT cope and in real practice/calcs, Cyno teams can beat the baby hyperbloom teams. Does this mean he has good pull value or that he’s better then alhaithem? No. But Cyno is much better then Zajef implies in this video and he is fully capable of a faster/comfier clear time without whaling. Issues such as burst cost and low damage are exaggerated and honestly I’m a little upset Zajef missed so hard in this video. Did he even give Cyno a chance?
@@wilburforce8046with a unit like Cyno, it's the same amount of steps because there's really no way he can make regular hyperbloom work. Even if you try to Hyperbloom your electro app will be so high you'll end up doing quick bloom on accident lol
Does Hoyo know that switching off of Cyno increases his E cooldown?? That's the kind of thing they'd actually probably try to fix in an update if people brought it to their attention.

Man, I feel conflicted about Cyno. Cyno is my fav character lore wise (Genshin comics) but gameplay wise, I hated his kit. I got Keqing right after him and the experience is vastly different. She's more flexible than him, I can use her burst for and if I want, I can switch her out very easily to apply Nahida's E. Also she works well with Kazuha and Fischl.

Similar feelings about Cyno but I will never use Keqing even if I get her c6. Nothing personal. I just don't care for her as a character. I did bench Cyno but I try to occasionally use him in abyss. But Cyno is better for hyperbloom than Keqing if I remember correctly
Cyno suffers from being mid where he’s not BiS anywhere, but also feels worse by having gameplay issues due to his long, incentivized on-field Burst and lack of Interruption Resistance. Also sucks that while Nadia is technically BiS for his team DPS as the Dendro option, she’s worse in multi-wave content for Cyno since she won’t be able to re-apply Dendro without Cyno canceling his Burst.
The lack of interrumption resistance is the thing for me, he is very fun, the claws and jumps and stuff is very entretaining and i can ignore his mid-ness through that, but god i hate being interrumped by literally everything
the only thing i m gonna say about cybo is that he's a well balanced unit in the sense that he's isn't meta broken nor is he underpowdered. his performance is more than enough to effortlessly glide through any abyss. he's not really needed or a ''must pull'' by any means but he can hang on his own with the best of the best when it comes to the end results. so if u like him, pull him and if u don't then u r not loosing on anything. i like units like these very much.
If one thing I could change about Cyno's kit, that would be to make it like Noelle's- swap-able. Here you go, everything fixed, no problem using Fischl, Nahida, Kazuha whatsoever. Does it make him broken; I don't think so, but infinitely better to use.
you know, baizhu might work pretty well with cyno... especially if he has a shield and off field dendro app that won't require cyno to switch off during burst

Cyno as an on field electro dps, who also has EM scalings, is good in his case because he contributes his personal damage and hyperbloom damage while a Kuki/Raiden would only be contributing hyperbloom damage; this would leave Cyno teams to have an extra team slot for more damage. This means that with properly invested teammates, Cyno's teams will be achieving higher damage than hyperbloom with Kuki/Raiden. Keep in mind bloom rate is limited to 2 per .5s, realistically achieving 2 blooms per second. Also keep in mind that Cyno's burst autos swing radius and fast attack speed allows him to proc hyperblooms faster than a Kuki and even Raiden to better meet faster bloom rates. The point I'm assuming the Cyno mains were trying to make is that even with C2 yelan or C6 Xingqiu, a double dendro setup involving a Nahida in particular can keep up 100% quicken uptime and have the same rate of hyperblooms as a kuki/raiden team WHILE allowing Cyno to aggravate and the double dendro to spread. This is to say that there is no real tradeoff involved and Cyno's team is the only one currently capable of creating this scenario. The solo electro energy situation has also been found to not be as bad as initially thought, just requiring a slight increase with substats. Overall, the above can be harder to appreciate for minimum investment teams, but it shows how much scaling potential Cyno and his teammates allow over other standardly used teams.
But Alhaitham can accomplish everything listed above with higher dps, his addition is a lot more dendro and dps vs doubling nahida up with someone like DMC, plus he has significantly less ER issues than Cyno Sure he won't be the one personally proccing hyperblooms, but his high damage gets amped by Nahida's EM buff anyway to the point where buffing hyperbloom adds up to less dmg
@@Hezkun with him u need double electro for full spread uptime, that means no nahida in team, with syno you can pare with nahida as single dendro + have slot for anemo character for vv shread + EM buff, like sucrose with ttds, alhaitam damage far behind compare to syno
@@Hezkun The ER issue is non existent even as solo electro as the updated ER chart on Cyno mains discord can attest to, unless getting 40-50% ER is considered an issue. I'm not sure why the assumption is Nahida would be paired with DMC for Cyno's setup when the Alhaitham setup gets to have kuki/Raiden for the comparison. The upcoming Baizhu is just a partial example of what can be added for future dendro units to fit into Cyno's team as second dendro. The application rate won't matter since Nahida is already present, and the unit would only need to buff or do solid off field dendro damage that it can spread. In contrast, imagine what it would take for a kuki/Raiden replacement to exist for Alhaitham's team in the future. The electro unit would need fast off field electro with better damage than kuki/Raiden e for better aggravates. The point being, it is far more likely a future dendro unit that upgrades Cyno's team further will come along before such a specific electro unit that can ramp Alhaitham's team. I'm not sure what teams you used to compare Alhaitham's bloom team to Cyno's, but I don't believe the damage difference would be as significant as you mention it to be. There is a spreadsheet WIP being done over at Cyno mains discord where it actually turned out that Cyno's double dendro setup has a slightly higher team DPS than even double hydro Hu tao at similar investment. That comparison involved Yaoyao as second dendro and would only get better with the upcoming Baizhu with his passive benefit. It is easy to get caught up in DPS comparisons for one unit vs another, but it's really about what the entire team contributes. In terms of damage, Kuki's slot is contributing hyperbloom damage at the expense of low electro damage while Cyno contributes both. In turn, Cyno's second dendro won't do nearly as much damage as Alhaitham, but will most definitely out damage Kuki/Raidens E damage through raw damage and/or buffing capability. So unless Alhaitham is doing a sub DPS slot worth of extra damage compared to Cyno's electro and hyperbloom damage, I don't see the team DPS being of significant difference.
@razem1 Alhaitham teams basically have all the dendro needed to outpace very fast hydro application, Cyno teams tend to suffer bc Nahida herself is not enough dendro to scruff out faster hydro application from the likes of XQ. You'll lose quicken unless your other off field dendro has a similar application rate to Alhaitham's (not likely) The dmg Cyno does being higher than Tao's is accurate, but it paints an inaccurate picture without all the pieces. Alhaitham's quickbloom team is only slightly behind C3R1 Raiden's LOL (it's only like 2k dps of difference as well), it's not a question of being good or bad, bc both carries have very high dmg potential bc of Hyperbloom being broken, it's just that Alhaitham is at a better spot 99% of the time because he doesn't have to slow down hydro app to spam hyperblooms while keeping quicken. Cyno doesn't have this luxury unless they make a significantly faster version of Nahida. What are the chances that they'd make an off-field dendro applicator fast enough to scrub XQ hydro off field? It would be massive nahida powercreep to just have better app and buffing than hers lol When it comes to consolidating roles Alhaitham applies a shitload of dendro while also having insane personal output, sure kuki doesn't have Cyno's personal output, but Haitham's is more than enough to compensate. Baizhu/Yaoyao don't contribute any significant dmg at all to contrast that
dude, cyno is great in hyper bloom against single target because he can proc seeds as soon as they come out. Once a good dendro healer appears(cough) that can pair up with nahida and him his hyper bloom will likely become quick bloom with c6 xing or c2 yelan which will pretty much let cyno realize his full potencial
Now that Baizhu and Furina are out, he's actually just as good as the other meta damage dealers in that team. His long burst used to be bad due to no longer getting support near the end, but Baizhu and Furina's support can last throughout his entire burst so he still does good damage. He also benefits from having a long burst because he can kill abyss bosses in one rotation versus other supports who often times need two, it saves time. Baizhu offers interruption resistance, Furina offers a great damage buff and more particles. I don't want to talk about everything because that would take a while, but if you're interested, check out Jello Impact's recent review of Cyno, he even says himself that Cyno is as good power-wise. Is he a good way to strengthen your account? I mean he's not a support so no, and he doesn't have as many good team options as other damage dealers do. But if you like Cyno and/or his playstyle, then he is totally worth it and you will do just as well as the other meta teams.
it feels like misconception regarding Cyno. He is EM dependent. He needs EM to work, and with EM he increases damage of his attacks + his E in burst. Yes, there is still a problem with him because he really needs an off-field dendro reapplication. And Nahida is not perfect for that if we speak about small waves, not bosses. In this case you cannot swap to Nahida to reapply dendro on the new wave. Hence, MC is still better in this case. But with all these conditions he will be better in damage than Keqin as if she goes to EM she will lose on attack or crit. Cyno gets part of his EM as a damage besides the reactions and yes, just Barbara with him. She covers with her E almost 15 seconds + TTDS
A change to Cyno's kit that I think would've made him much more enjoyable to play and, flexible, so to say, would be if his burst would go on cooldown if you swapped out early. Something rather similar to Childe, but for example giving it a span of 12 to 18 seconds and a shorter cooldown if you opted to swap out earlier. Though there might still be the problem of energy as you'll get less particles, but it'd be better than nothing nonetheless.
From watching this vid, my takeaway is that he only needs one simple tweak to actually make him meta... and that is to allow him to swap without ending his burst infusion. They already did this for old characters like Noelle and Diluc, what a wasted opportunity.
Cyno is fun but I would still say I partially regret getting him... I don't play him nearly as much as I thought I would. I regret getting Eula less as I knew I'd use her sparsely.
Any main carry has this risk. I have a triple crowned Diluc that i love to play but i have so many other teams that end up not playing him that much. Thats why now i focus on supports most of the time.
i thought cyno would be capable of 9 starring this abyss for me since it has a buff for aggravate but he still only 5 starred it i just used raiden instead as usual
Insanely wrong about quick bloom teams, less hydro actually better for this teams couse most of damage instances from on field character will be do more damage then hyperbloom seed. That the whole point of that team . And Yelan perfect for that team. Less hydro and solid damage buff for on field char. And quickbloom itself that transition between low investment required hyperbloom teams and high investment spread/ aggravate teams

Klee could've been the pyro xingqiu. But Hoyo decided to make her bad by forcing you to play her onfield and not being able to swap off of her during burst. I'm fine with not having a geo xingqiu though lmao.
F2P EM/Electro DMG;/Crit DMG Cyno build here, with 81% CR 236.8 CD 266 EM and signature weapon, feels really good to play when you just want to smash enemies :)
cyno definitely seems very fun to play, i remember i was awed by his animations when i saw it for the first time. im happy he's not as bad as some people make him out to be. he's just a good character that works in the right teams, which is what most character should be at(im looking at you dehya)
Agreed. Just as zajef said. Cyno is a great unit if you like him, but if you don't then easily skippable unlike a certain someone who you can like all you want but are gonna struggle to make work.
Genshin's gameplay is mind-numbing as fuck for me. A lot of gameplay is Q->E (switch) Q->E (switch) Q->E (switch) Q->E (spam left click until bursts/rotation ends). I reached AR55 and had genuinely stopped playing the game until Cyno's trailer came out. I saw QTE character and had immediate neuron activation, I genuinely don't think there's a character more fun than him in the game but of course that is subjective. His kit is very rewarding to me because: 1) He has EM-scaling as a reaction-based character. 2) Every time I time his E correctly I cum a little. 3) His burst duration increases if you are good at the game. 4) He generates particles during his burst. 5) His burst animation is cool as fuck. Because of this I've invested in him to the point where his team is as strong as my kazunational team (and they're also very well-built). For this reason I have a C4 Keqing that has remained at LV20 and will remain there simply because Cyno exists. I typically don't engage with the online community for this game but I was very shocked when I found out people regretted pulling him because he is the one character I would have regretted not pulling. TLDR: If Genshin's gameplay is too simple for you just play Cyno. You might like him. Or if you can't pull him just play Beidou she's also very fun.
I’d get Cyno on release if he was built like an Eremite Elite instead of Bennett, the design is cool and the eye mechanic feels engaging to try and make him work if one would want to

Cyno is one of the characters that makes me wonder if it was a bad thing that I lost him on 50/50s to Tighnari or it's actually a blessing in disguise, because raising him on 3.1 was kinda nervewrecking since it depended on whether the player unlocked the underground area in the then recently released desert
I regret pulling him. He looks awesome and he would've felt better to play if there was at least a dendro follow up damage like a dendro xinqiu. I know it sounds op but cyno really just looks awesome but feels disappointing.
Yeahh...I'm hoping that since the drip marketing for Kaveh and Bazihu was released for 3.6, and they're running Cyno right before that, that at least one of them is meant to support him
Sounds like a soon to be Dehya situation where some of the people that said they are going to pull Dehya because her kit looks cool ultimately regret it once they realize that her kit is unplayable af and you won’t even be able to use her in OW content.
Keqing is probably my 2nd or 3rd most invested character by far. All the investment in the world doesn't seem to let me get any Keqing cons to the point that I didn't get a single copy until her own Rate Up banner and have only gotten 1 con since. Meanwhile I have an unleveled C6 Mona. That all said, I skipped Cyno the first time around purely because I wanted Nilou more than him. Now that he's back, I'm praying I can get him because he just looks cool and I never cared much for the "you could just be playing Keqing instead" argument as if it's ever a bad thing to have two Electro carries.

Ayaka is my most heavily invested character with a mistsplitter and extremely good artifacts, along with Nilou who are both my favorite characters but also stopped playing them all because of the "One Punch Man Syndrome". Started to main Keqing, stripped my ayaka of the mistsplitter and gave it to her, now I'm having so much fun and also made me realize that I regret missing out on Alhaitham because I took a genshin burnout break during his release.
My Cyno was benched for a long time and I had him level 90, full gilded, double crowned and C1 ("accident") and I was playing him because he couldn't do enough damage to justify it. But when Yao Yao released I paired him with her, Nahida and Xingqiu and it is one of my favorite teams and it is really strong, so strong that I'm planning to pull his C2 now (hope Baizhu can slot in Yao Yao place and be a shielder so that I can use Yelan instead of Xingqiu for more damage)
I benched him when I first got him and didn’t start using him til Nahida came out. Nahida made playing him feel a lot better but I only used aggravate Cyno in abyss 12 occasionally. Later I tried hyperbloom Cyno with him, Beidou, Xingqui and Nahida and it felt strong and fun while covering his weaknesses(except dendro application in multi wave content). It’s actually one of my favorite abyss 12 teams too. If Baizhu is a dendro Xingqui tho I might replace Xingqui for an aggravate team or replace Beidou(will require more er so maybe I’ll add fav weapons to the supports) in a hyperbloom team.
theres a way to make cyno work. they could make a dendro shielder whose e creates a dendro ring like nilou's. it has 12s uptime but increases to 18s if the active character uses their e (+2s each skill use). her/his burst should cost 80 energy, deal tiny dot dmg (for deepwood) and create a shield baizhu is not enough for cyno. his app is so poor that u still have to swap to nahida to use her e again
I'm glad you made this video. I was wondering how Cyno compared to Keqing and Raiden. He looks so fun to play, but so are the other two and they already seem to fill the same roles that he would if I pulled hi.
Yea if you have ei or keqing or both like me there’s absolutely nothing he brings that they don’t already have in spades Ei scales better with cons and keqing doesn’t everything for free by breathing at c0 so cyno is just players who really don’t like those 2 characters and are willing to make up and cope ideas to justify why not going or building them

those 2 women's gameplay is pretty braindead for me, Cyno is much more satisfying, thought I have to say that Cyno's recommended primos investment requirements is pretty high compared to Raiden or Keqing, but at C2 or C0R1 level they're pretty equal
the concept for Chaos Cyno (Cyno, Nahida, Yelan, Thoma) is that you get to vaporize Yelan's E, infinite poise through Thoma's shielding, some burn and some overload damage. Thus you can free up Zhongli to another team. Yes, slotting Xingqiu would get your more seeds instead of Thoma but it's situational (also even with XQ rainswords, Cyno got knocked out of his attack string from the Primo Geovishap). Like Thoma would be better in AoE and also getting rid of stuff like Electro buff from the Electro Node in 12-1-1.
@@devondorr8212 If you time his Primo Vishap kill with Yelan and Thoma vs Yelan and XQ, it's the same at 20 seconds, but with XQ his Cyno didn't have enough poise and got knocked around, thus costing him "dps loss." Zajef saying that it's his skill issue and can't even give credit that Thoma brings 100% uptime infinite poise to the team.
1/1/10 for Ayaka is not just a tiny bit especially if she is C0, a big part of her damage also comes from her NAs, which could drastically affect your clear time.
Charged attack spam is a pretty big part of her play style imo. At first i had her at 2/2/9 but after i upgraded to 6/6/10 I got a noticeable higher total damage. Her burst is her main damage dealer yea, but at its downtime u gonna be CA spamming and skill. So it's worth it, i think.
It depends on teams. Her "whale team" with Shenhe Kazuha, she doesn't do any NA/CA because the rotation is actually so tight it won't allow more than 1. But iirc his f2p acc team is like Sucrose XQ/Barbara, so leveling her E and NA actually matters. But the main reason that it should be level anyway isn't because it is a big DPS increase on sheet because it shouldn't be, it's because having the ability to finish off waves without using your burst is quite important for frontload heavy team like Ayaka.
I'm honestly expecting a wave of future content with meta being that of not swapping characters so much. The game now is just like this, is a continuous quick swap of abilities and I feel like one of the future regions will introduce a mechanics that makes swapping too fast a disadvantage

Even Dori warns the traveler that the repeated use of Knowledge Capsules causes one's brain to numb and stop thinking for yourself since the information is always treated as absolute. In other words, it's well justified to ban knowledge capsules to be circulating unrestricted and in reality, Zajef is just bitter that Hyv made a playable character who's a "cop" and he can't not make comparisons with the American police force because of their bad reputation.

As a Cyno main and playing Genshin with an Xbox controller, using Nahida's skill hurts my damn fingers and the camera doesn't rotate as fast compared to using mouse + keyboard, which I suck at using as I'm left handed and controller is just much more comfortable for me to use. But the slow camera rotation feels like I'm at a disadvantage ;^;
just curious: Cyno long burst is it more leaned toward Coop? since you cant swap character in Coop, so a high burst uptime is not that punishing. Maybe this is what the designer think about.
Honestly yeah, if coop is more relevant the meta would change a lot, but mhy would never do that bcz that means you could rely on ur friends an min max 1 char only, meanig NO MONEY SPENT

If I could change something about cyno at all it would be to decrease his energy cost, that would actually make him an upgrade over other electro characters. The main reason no one like playing cyno is how demanding his every needs are and they aren't sub-sided by energy generation either unless ur using TF, its not like Raiden who has insane energy generation in her ult. As for how much I'd make it go down I'd probably drop it to 50, if it's too big of a buff I'd make it 60. Just having less energy to worry about would improve the overall value of using cyno and yes while his burst cooldown is long it can be sub-sided by the lower energy requirement
10:27 in AOE situations with Ayato+Lumine bursts I'll often end up not able to keep up with their seed generation with anything other that Dori burst. I hate its down time and burst cost in an EM build, but it goes so hard when it's up and you have a ton of flexibility for on field damage dealers

Unless you really like him there is no point pulling him. You don't need to play his teams and hyperbloom even in the super copium version is still good enough without him. Basically if you don't have many characters your account is probably low level which is stopping you from clearing abyss, more characters wont fix your issue there. If you aren't low level but are missing these units then you probably have other units which can clear with proper investment.
At this point the meta can change anytime in the future even though they are doing Re runs on certain characters who may be considered bad for players.

I get that he has long burst and I know Keqing is better in aggravate, but I don't really mind playing him. I don't like Keqing at all (I like her burst at least but hate her CA + can't really stand her tsundere-uwu I choose to overwork shtick + she has one of the most annoying voiceline imo) and I'm used to play a lot of hypercarries that on field 100 years (Xiao, Itto) so I guess that's why I can tolerate him. But yeah hyperbloom/quickbloom Cyno is alot more fun than aggravate Cyno, and even then I would probably rather play Kuki hyperbloom. He has really cool design at least. He's not really good against multiple waves of enemies but I still like playing him against bosses at least. I don't really mind him and I agree that he has soo many cons, but I feel like some people were too mean about him, like he's not bad guys. It's not like they're making freeze feel like shit, it's that they used to make a lot of effort to make freeze strong. The freaking abyss hydro lector just feels like shit to play against using anything else. Even for Ganyu it just felt like shit. Meanwhile, Ayaka destroys him, they just forced her so bad that it made she feel broken and people are just now realizing it isnt that good.

And watch Dendro be the same. Look at the blessing and abyss layout. Look how not a single anti-Dendro enemy has been released outside the Chicken (and the Wenut next abyss). Weren't we supposed to see Dendro abyss mage? What happened to that? Just like with freeze shill, dendro is being shilled too and when it outlive its usefulness they will throw counter too. Look how Bloom team are all dendro damage, burgeon and hyperbloom included. Spread is also mainly dendro. Just adding Dendro enemies with good resistance to it will affect Spread, Nilou bloom, Burgeon and Hyperbloom all at the same time. Only aggravate will escape but since Cyno isn't particularly good in it, every sumeru units can be countered.
I was rly torn between pulling him or dehya mostly for waifu reasons(I'm ar 60 and 36 abyss pretty consistently, I don't rly need any more "meta" units unless I want to) But hoyo making Dehya Aloy level rly threw me off+she's going in standard so I'll probably get her eventually. Rn I have 144 pulls and I could potentially try for both if I win 50/50, but I'd rather go for Shenhe if I get Cyno early honestly. And then there's Baizu AND KAVEH on the horizon. I wish I had the financial stability to be a whale lol
While Nahida is definitely busted and often BiS for dendro teams she certainly does have a lot of gameplay issues pop up every now and then where you might just be better served with a worse unit but less headache. You often end up with comps where its hard to fit a healer at which point you might be tempted to just slot in yaoyao. The swirl thing for aggravate teams is also fairly annoying.
These arent nahida gameplay issues, this is only a matter of quicken characters not having synergy with nahida, if they made her dendro app slower and weaker so that swirling in aggravate comp might be easier then she wouldnt be as good in hyperbloom comp as she is now cuz the thing that makes her way better than other dendro units in hyperbloom is how much more dendro she applies. She was made for hyperbloom which is a superior comp from aggravate and she is BiS there, so she fulfills her role pretty good.
I pulled him after playing him in trial and his burst is just so nice to use, but theres so little situation that you'll get to use him and when you do get to use him he is underwhelming.
The reason why I main Cyno is because I'm actually a big enjoyer of unga bunga hypercarry playing (Xiao, Itto, Eula, etc.), and he lets me brainlessly go brrr (which is something I find really fun) while at the same time playing broken meta reactions, which is something my other favorite DPS don't do at all. Is he optimal? No. Do I care? ALSO NO, it gives me moments of pure fun during the pain that is the abyss. I dislike Keqing's personality and gameplay so it's irrelevant to me if she's better. Of course Zajef is 100% objectively correct about a lot of this and his burst is a hindrance to his potential, but with 140~% ER and another electro, I rarely have downtime when I'm back to him in the next rotation even when I canceled the burst early. And even when he has a little left, the good thing about taking Kuki is that I can still do a few hyperbloom pops during this downtime and don't miss much DPS. I see Kuki + Cyno in the same team as a sidegrade, like adding XQ + Yelan to a vape team. They do compete for the pops, but my Cyno gets a lot of EM buffs between his BiS weapon, 4p GD, and Nahida Q, so the difference with my Kuki isn't that crazy in my case. I imagine a less balanced TF Cyno with a crit weapon would feel much more underwhelming tho. In any case, he might be only alright, but the fun factor is the main reason I take him quickbloom to the abyss every time when I have the luxury of more meta options. It even frees Raiden to go rational or hypercarry or another dendro-centric team on the other half. I don't care if he's being carried by Nahida and XQ, I'm just vibing in unga bunga monke. Really hope Baizhu works with him in whatever kit he ends up doing, like the rest of the comments. My man's done so dirty

My venti Mona diona Ayaka team was able to 36 star the abyss running it on the second half. Granted, the first half had Raiden nahida hyperbloom, but still, Ayaka had to do SOME work
I have her kokomi kazuha shenhe but 12-2-1 with the triple Maguu kenki is very very bad I struggled a lot I had to switch teams. The weird thing is my second team performs well in all chambers (Zhongli Bennett Xiangling Ningguang 😂). Also same thing last Abyss against the dendro chicken.
Zajef's TC is focusing on low-investment audience aka people who dont have 5 stars constellation, 5 stars weapon, multiple 5 stars characters, high stat volume artifacts, etc. I means.. I can also 36* in this abyss with Ayaka but like.. there's no way I'm using my own investment to set the character's value bar for general public.

I am that man who's enjoying playing this boi. He is my favorite character just like Alhaitham. And I think he is good if you like him tho. It's just an alternative way to play and nothing more. Pretty decent character, not OP but not weak or really bad and trashy. I don't think that Keqing is better. They are literally the same character with different play style, that's all.

(Edit) I partially changed my mind Zajef spread misinfo in this video like the plague. Quickbloom is NOT cope and in real practice/calcs, Cyno teams can beat the baby hyperbloom teams. Does this mean he has good pull value or that he’s better then alhaithem? No. But Cyno is much better then Zajef implies in this video and he is fully capable of a faster/comfier clear time without whaling. Issues such as burst cost and low damage are exaggerated and honestly I’m a little upset Zajef missed so hard in this video. Did he even give Cyno a chance?

Man, I feel conflicted about Cyno. Cyno is my fav character lore wise (Genshin comics) but gameplay wise, I hated his kit. I got Keqing right after him and the experience is vastly different. She's more flexible than him, I can use her burst for and if I want, I can switch her out very easily to apply Nahida's E. Also she works well with Kazuha and Fischl.

Cyno suffers from being mid where he’s not BiS anywhere, but also feels worse by having gameplay issues due to his long, incentivized on-field Burst and lack of Interruption Resistance.
Also sucks that while Nadia is technically BiS for his team DPS as the Dendro option, she’s worse in multi-wave content for Cyno since she won’t be able to re-apply Dendro without Cyno canceling his Burst.
The lack of interrumption resistance is the thing for me, he is very fun, the claws and jumps and stuff is very entretaining and i can ignore his mid-ness through that, but god i hate being interrumped by literally everything
him being super replaceable really sucked, sorry for the other Cyno enjoyers out there.

the only thing i m gonna say about cybo is that he's a well balanced unit in the sense that he's isn't meta broken nor is he underpowdered. his performance is more than enough to effortlessly glide through any abyss. he's not really needed or a ''must pull'' by any means but he can hang on his own with the best of the best when it comes to the end results. so if u like him, pull him and if u don't then u r not loosing on anything. i like units like these very much.

Cyno as an on field electro dps, who also has EM scalings, is good in his case because he contributes his personal damage and hyperbloom damage while a Kuki/Raiden would only be contributing hyperbloom damage; this would leave Cyno teams to have an extra team slot for more damage. This means that with properly invested teammates, Cyno's teams will be achieving higher damage than hyperbloom with Kuki/Raiden.
Keep in mind bloom rate is limited to 2 per .5s, realistically achieving 2 blooms per second. Also keep in mind that Cyno's burst autos swing radius and fast attack speed allows him to proc hyperblooms faster than a Kuki and even Raiden to better meet faster bloom rates. The point I'm assuming the Cyno mains were trying to make is that even with C2 yelan or C6 Xingqiu, a double dendro setup involving a Nahida in particular can keep up 100% quicken uptime and have the same rate of hyperblooms as a kuki/raiden team WHILE allowing Cyno to aggravate and the double dendro to spread. This is to say that there is no real tradeoff involved and Cyno's team is the only one currently capable of creating this scenario. The solo electro energy situation has also been found to not be as bad as initially thought, just requiring a slight increase with substats.
Overall, the above can be harder to appreciate for minimum investment teams, but it shows how much scaling potential Cyno and his teammates allow over other standardly used teams.

@@Hezkun The ER issue is non existent even as solo electro as the updated ER chart on Cyno mains discord can attest to, unless getting 40-50% ER is considered an issue.
I'm not sure why the assumption is Nahida would be paired with DMC for Cyno's setup when the Alhaitham setup gets to have kuki/Raiden for the comparison. The upcoming Baizhu is just a partial example of what can be added for future dendro units to fit into Cyno's team as second dendro. The application rate won't matter since Nahida is already present, and the unit would only need to buff or do solid off field dendro damage that it can spread. In contrast, imagine what it would take for a kuki/Raiden replacement to exist for Alhaitham's team in the future. The electro unit would need fast off field electro with better damage than kuki/Raiden e for better aggravates. The point being, it is far more likely a future dendro unit that upgrades Cyno's team further will come along before such a specific electro unit that can ramp Alhaitham's team.
I'm not sure what teams you used to compare Alhaitham's bloom team to Cyno's, but I don't believe the damage difference would be as significant as you mention it to be. There is a spreadsheet WIP being done over at Cyno mains discord where it actually turned out that Cyno's double dendro setup has a slightly higher team DPS than even double hydro Hu tao at similar investment. That comparison involved Yaoyao as second dendro and would only get better with the upcoming Baizhu with his passive benefit.
It is easy to get caught up in DPS comparisons for one unit vs another, but it's really about what the entire team contributes. In terms of damage, Kuki's slot is contributing hyperbloom damage at the expense of low electro damage while Cyno contributes both. In turn, Cyno's second dendro won't do nearly as much damage as Alhaitham, but will most definitely out damage Kuki/Raidens E damage through raw damage and/or buffing capability. So unless Alhaitham is doing a sub DPS slot worth of extra damage compared to Cyno's electro and hyperbloom damage, I don't see the team DPS being of significant difference.
@razem1 Alhaitham teams basically have all the dendro needed to outpace very fast hydro application, Cyno teams tend to suffer bc Nahida herself is not enough dendro to scruff out faster hydro application from the likes of XQ. You'll lose quicken unless your other off field dendro has a similar application rate to Alhaitham's (not likely)
The dmg Cyno does being higher than Tao's is accurate, but it paints an inaccurate picture without all the pieces. Alhaitham's quickbloom team is only slightly behind C3R1 Raiden's LOL (it's only like 2k dps of difference as well), it's not a question of being good or bad, bc both carries have very high dmg potential bc of Hyperbloom being broken, it's just that Alhaitham is at a better spot 99% of the time because he doesn't have to slow down hydro app to spam hyperblooms while keeping quicken. Cyno doesn't have this luxury unless they make a significantly faster version of Nahida.
What are the chances that they'd make an off-field dendro applicator fast enough to scrub XQ hydro off field? It would be massive nahida powercreep to just have better app and buffing than hers lol
When it comes to consolidating roles
Alhaitham applies a shitload of dendro while also having insane personal output, sure kuki doesn't have Cyno's personal output, but Haitham's is more than enough to compensate. Baizhu/Yaoyao don't contribute any significant dmg at all to contrast that
dude, cyno is great in hyper bloom against single target because he can proc seeds as soon as they come out. Once a good dendro healer appears(cough) that can pair up with nahida and him his hyper bloom will likely become quick bloom with c6 xing or c2 yelan which will pretty much let cyno realize his full potencial
Now that Baizhu and Furina are out, he's actually just as good as the other meta damage dealers in that team. His long burst used to be bad due to no longer getting support near the end, but Baizhu and Furina's support can last throughout his entire burst so he still does good damage. He also benefits from having a long burst because he can kill abyss bosses in one rotation versus other supports who often times need two, it saves time. Baizhu offers interruption resistance, Furina offers a great damage buff and more particles. I don't want to talk about everything because that would take a while, but if you're interested, check out Jello Impact's recent review of Cyno, he even says himself that Cyno is as good power-wise. Is he a good way to strengthen your account? I mean he's not a support so no, and he doesn't have as many good team options as other damage dealers do. But if you like Cyno and/or his playstyle, then he is totally worth it and you will do just as well as the other meta teams.
it feels like misconception regarding Cyno. He is EM dependent. He needs EM to work, and with EM he increases damage of his attacks + his E in burst. Yes, there is still a problem with him because he really needs an off-field dendro reapplication. And Nahida is not perfect for that if we speak about small waves, not bosses. In this case you cannot swap to Nahida to reapply dendro on the new wave. Hence, MC is still better in this case. But with all these conditions he will be better in damage than Keqin as if she goes to EM she will lose on attack or crit. Cyno gets part of his EM as a damage besides the reactions

A change to Cyno's kit that I think would've made him much more enjoyable to play and, flexible, so to say, would be if his burst would go on cooldown if you swapped out early. Something rather similar to Childe, but for example giving it a span of 12 to 18 seconds and a shorter cooldown if you opted to swap out earlier. Though there might still be the problem of energy as you'll get less particles, but it'd be better than nothing nonetheless.
From watching this vid, my takeaway is that he only needs one simple tweak to actually make him meta... and that is to allow him to swap without ending his burst infusion. They already did this for old characters like Noelle and Diluc, what a wasted opportunity.

cyno definitely seems very fun to play, i remember i was awed by his animations when i saw it for the first time. im happy he's not as bad as some people make him out to be. he's just a good character that works in the right teams, which is what most character should be at(im looking at you dehya)

Agreed. Just as zajef said. Cyno is a great unit if you like him, but if you don't then easily skippable unlike a certain someone who you can like all you want but are gonna struggle to make work.

Genshin's gameplay is mind-numbing as fuck for me. A lot of gameplay is Q->E (switch) Q->E (switch) Q->E (switch) Q->E (spam left click until bursts/rotation ends). I reached AR55 and had genuinely stopped playing the game until Cyno's trailer came out. I saw QTE character and had immediate neuron activation, I genuinely don't think there's a character more fun than him in the game but of course that is subjective. His kit is very rewarding to me because:
1) He has EM-scaling as a reaction-based character.
2) Every time I time his E correctly I cum a little.
3) His burst duration increases if you are good at the game.
4) He generates particles during his burst.
5) His burst animation is cool as fuck.
Because of this I've invested in him to the point where his team is as strong as my kazunational team (and they're also very well-built). For this reason I have a C4 Keqing that has remained at LV20 and will remain there simply because Cyno exists. I typically don't engage with the online community for this game but I was very shocked when I found out people regretted pulling him because he is the one character I would have regretted not pulling.
TLDR: If Genshin's gameplay is too simple for you just play Cyno. You might like him. Or if you can't pull him just play Beidou she's also very fun.

Cyno burst is really fun to play but it kinda sucks when you have to cancel your burst because you ran out of dendro application and you have to do your rotation again.
Cyno is one of the characters that makes me wonder if it was a bad thing that I lost him on 50/50s to Tighnari or it's actually a blessing in disguise, because raising him on 3.1 was kinda nervewrecking since it depended on whether the player unlocked the underground area in the then recently released desert

Keqing is probably my 2nd or 3rd most invested character by far. All the investment in the world doesn't seem to let me get any Keqing cons to the point that I didn't get a single copy until her own Rate Up banner and have only gotten 1 con since. Meanwhile I have an unleveled C6 Mona.
That all said, I skipped Cyno the first time around purely because I wanted Nilou more than him. Now that he's back, I'm praying I can get him because he just looks cool and I never cared much for the "you could just be playing Keqing instead" argument as if it's ever a bad thing to have two Electro carries.
You can have both and swap them depending on your mood.

Ayaka is my most heavily invested character with a mistsplitter and extremely good artifacts, along with Nilou who are both my favorite characters but also stopped playing them all because of the "One Punch Man Syndrome". Started to main Keqing, stripped my ayaka of the mistsplitter and gave it to her, now I'm having so much fun and also made me realize that I regret missing out on Alhaitham because I took a genshin burnout break during his release.

My Cyno was benched for a long time and I had him level 90, full gilded, double crowned and C1 ("accident") and I was playing him because he couldn't do enough damage to justify it.
But when Yao Yao released I paired him with her, Nahida and Xingqiu and it is one of my favorite teams and it is really strong, so strong that I'm planning to pull his C2 now (hope Baizhu can slot in Yao Yao place and be a shielder so that I can use Yelan instead of Xingqiu for more damage)

I benched him when I first got him and didn’t start using him til Nahida came out. Nahida made playing him feel a lot better but I only used aggravate Cyno in abyss 12 occasionally. Later I tried hyperbloom Cyno with him, Beidou, Xingqui and Nahida and it felt strong and fun while covering his weaknesses(except dendro application in multi wave content). It’s actually one of my favorite abyss 12 teams too. If Baizhu is a dendro Xingqui tho I might replace Xingqui for an aggravate team or replace Beidou(will require more er so maybe I’ll add fav weapons to the supports) in a hyperbloom team.
theres a way to make cyno work. they could make a dendro shielder whose e creates a dendro ring like nilou's. it has 12s uptime but increases to 18s if the active character uses their e (+2s each skill use). her/his burst should cost 80 energy, deal tiny dot dmg (for deepwood) and create a shield
baizhu is not enough for cyno. his app is so poor that u still have to swap to nahida to use her e again

those 2 women's gameplay is pretty braindead for me, Cyno is much more satisfying, thought I have to say that Cyno's recommended primos investment requirements is pretty high compared to Raiden or Keqing, but at C2 or C0R1 level they're pretty equal
the concept for Chaos Cyno (Cyno, Nahida, Yelan, Thoma) is that you get to vaporize Yelan's E, infinite poise through Thoma's shielding, some burn and some overload damage. Thus you can free up Zhongli to another team. Yes, slotting Xingqiu would get your more seeds instead of Thoma but it's situational (also even with XQ rainswords, Cyno got knocked out of his attack string from the Primo Geovishap). Like Thoma would be better in AoE and also getting rid of stuff like Electro buff from the Electro Node in 12-1-1.
It's the definition of a good cope team. It is supposed to free up characters and it does it quite well.
@@devondorr8212 If you time his Primo Vishap kill with Yelan and Thoma vs Yelan and XQ, it's the same at 20 seconds, but with XQ his Cyno didn't have enough poise and got knocked around, thus costing him "dps loss." Zajef saying that it's his skill issue and can't even give credit that Thoma brings 100% uptime infinite poise to the team.
That's inefficient, Quickbloom(Cyno-Nahida-Xingqiu-Yaoyao) is alot better

1/1/10 for Ayaka is not just a tiny bit especially if she is C0, a big part of her damage also comes from her NAs, which could drastically affect your clear time.
Charged attack spam is a pretty big part of her play style imo. At first i had her at 2/2/9 but after i upgraded to 6/6/10 I got a noticeable higher total damage. Her burst is her main damage dealer yea, but at its downtime u gonna be CA spamming and skill. So it's worth it, i think.
It depends on teams. Her "whale team" with Shenhe Kazuha, she doesn't do any NA/CA because the rotation is actually so tight it won't allow more than 1. But iirc his f2p acc team is like Sucrose XQ/Barbara, so leveling her E and NA actually matters. But the main reason that it should be level anyway isn't because it is a big DPS increase on sheet because it shouldn't be, it's because having the ability to finish off waves without using your burst is quite important for frontload heavy team like Ayaka.

I'm honestly expecting a wave of future content with meta being that of not swapping characters so much. The game now is just like this, is a continuous quick swap of abilities and I feel like one of the future regions will introduce a mechanics that makes swapping too fast a disadvantage

As a Cyno main and playing Genshin with an Xbox controller, using Nahida's skill hurts my damn fingers and the camera doesn't rotate as fast compared to using mouse + keyboard, which I suck at using as I'm left handed and controller is just much more comfortable for me to use. But the slow camera rotation feels like I'm at a disadvantage ;^;
just curious: Cyno long burst is it more leaned toward Coop? since you cant swap character in Coop, so a high burst uptime is not that punishing. Maybe this is what the designer think about.

If I could change something about cyno at all it would be to decrease his energy cost, that would actually make him an upgrade over other electro characters. The main reason no one like playing cyno is how demanding his every needs are and they aren't sub-sided by energy generation either unless ur using TF, its not like Raiden who has insane energy generation in her ult. As for how much I'd make it go down I'd probably drop it to 50, if it's too big of a buff I'd make it 60. Just having less energy to worry about would improve the overall value of using cyno and yes while his burst cooldown is long it can be sub-sided by the lower energy requirement
When comparing cyno and ayaka the real questoins should always be, will an ayaka hyperfridge team out performs cyno hyperbloom team 💀
10:27 in AOE situations with Ayato+Lumine bursts I'll often end up not able to keep up with their seed generation with anything other that Dori burst. I hate its down time and burst cost in an EM build, but it goes so hard when it's up and you have a ton of flexibility for on field damage dealers

You don't need to play his teams and hyperbloom even in the super copium version is still good enough without him.
Basically if you don't have many characters your account is probably low level which is stopping you from clearing abyss, more characters wont fix your issue there.
If you aren't low level but are missing these units then you probably have other units which can clear with proper investment.

I get that he has long burst and I know Keqing is better in aggravate, but I don't really mind playing him. I don't like Keqing at all (I like her burst at least but hate her CA + can't really stand her tsundere-uwu I choose to overwork shtick + she has one of the most annoying voiceline imo) and I'm used to play a lot of hypercarries that on field 100 years (Xiao, Itto) so I guess that's why I can tolerate him. But yeah hyperbloom/quickbloom Cyno is alot more fun than aggravate Cyno, and even then I would probably rather play Kuki hyperbloom. He has really cool design at least. He's not really good against multiple waves of enemies but I still like playing him against bosses at least. I don't really mind him and I agree that he has soo many cons, but I feel like some people were too mean about him, like he's not bad guys. One Cyno's cons that I feel like people didn't really talk about is that HE NEEDS SCARAB. BRO, SCARAB IS THE MOST ANNOYING LOCAL SPECIALTIES EVER.

It's not like they're making freeze feel like shit, it's that they used to make a lot of effort to make freeze strong. I was rly torn between pulling him or dehya mostly for waifu reasons(I'm ar 60 and 36 abyss pretty consistently, I don't rly need any more "meta" units unless I want to)
But hoyo making Dehya Aloy level rly threw me off+she's going in standard so I'll probably get her eventually. Rn I have 144 pulls and I could potentially try for both if I win 50/50, but I'd rather go for Shenhe if I get Cyno early honestly. And then there's Baizu AND KAVEH on the horizon. I wish I had the financial stability to be a whale lol

While Nahida is definitely busted and often BiS for dendro teams she certainly does have a lot of gameplay issues pop up every now and then where you might just be better served with a worse unit but less headache.
You often end up with comps where its hard to fit a healer at which point you might be tempted to just slot in yaoyao.
The swirl thing for aggravate teams is also fairly annoying.
These arent nahida gameplay issues, this is only a matter of quicken characters not having synergy with nahida, if they made her dendro app slower and weaker so that swirling in aggravate comp might be easier then she wouldnt be as good in hyperbloom comp as she is now cuz the thing that makes her way better than other dendro units in hyperbloom is how much more dendro she applies. She was made for hyperbloom which is a superior comp from aggravate and she is BiS there, so she fulfills her role pretty good.

The reason why I main Cyno is because I'm actually a big enjoyer of unga bunga hypercarry playing (Xiao, Itto, Eula, etc.), and he lets me brainlessly go brrr (which is something I find really fun) while at the same time playing broken meta reactions, which is something my other favorite DPS don't do at all. Is he optimal? No. Do I care? ALSO NO, it gives me moments of pure fun during the pain that is the abyss. I dislike Keqing's personality and gameplay so it's irrelevant to me if she's better. Of course Zajef is 100% objectively correct about a lot of this and his burst is a hindrance to his potential, but with 140~% ER and another electro, I rarely have downtime when I'm back to him in the next rotation even when I canceled the burst early. And even when he has a little left, the good thing about taking Kuki is that I can still do a few hyperbloom pops during this downtime and don't miss much DPS. I see Kuki + Cyno in the same team as a sidegrade, like adding XQ + Yelan to a vape team. They do compete for the pops, but my Cyno gets a lot of EM buffs between his BiS weapon, 4p GD, and Nahida Q, so the difference with my Kuki isn't that crazy in my case. I imagine a less balanced TF Cyno with a crit weapon would feel much more underwhelming tho. In any case, he might be only alright, but the fun factor is the main reason I take him quickbloom to the abyss every time when I have the luxury of more meta options. It even frees Raiden to go rational or hypercarry or another dendro-centric team on the other half. I don't care if he's being carried by Nahida and XQ, I'm just vibing in unga bunga monke. Really hope Baizhu works with him in whatever kit he ends up doing, like the rest of the comments. My man's done so dirty

My venti Mona diona Ayaka team was able to 36 star the abyss running it on the second half. Granted, the first half had Raiden nahida hyperbloom, but still, Ayaka had to do SOME work
I have her kokomi kazuha shenhe but 12-2-1 with the triple Maguu kenki is very very bad I struggled a lot I had to switch teams. The weird thing is my second team performs well in all chambers (Zhongli Bennett Xiangling Ningguang 😂). Also same thing last Abyss against the dendro chicken.
Zajef's TC is focusing on low-investment audience aka people who dont have 5 stars constellation, 5 stars weapon, multiple 5 stars characters, high stat volume artifacts, etc.
I means.. I can also 36* in this abyss with Ayaka but like.. there's no way I'm using my own investment to set the character's value bar for general public.
@@nanathedelta8561 c0 all characters except c2 diona, everyone with 4 star weapons at r1 except for Ayaka that has r1 skyward blade. I think it's a pretty good measurement of value.
It's bc second half is a lot less enemy HP heavy, you can clear that half with almost any team, even sub-optimal ones

I am that man who's enjoying playing this boi. He is my favorite character just like Alhaitham. And I think he is good if you like him tho. It's just an alternative way to play and nothing more. Pretty decent character, not OP but not weak or really bad and trashy.
I don't think that Keqing is better. They are literally the same character with different play style, that's all.

what's funny about keqing dealing more dmg is that a friend of mine can't seem to stay alive with Keqing without sacrificing charge attacks while I just yeet the abyss with cyno normals
Simply skill issue, just watch the 1000+ Keqing aggravate videos on YT, even you can slot Yaoyao + Anemo now if you want healing for Keqing Aggravate or switch Anemo with Zhong Li and it would still do better than Cyno Aggravate
