Please tell me, many people in comments across internet told me one thing that is annoying with makita duc353. When you press power and u cut something, when you put it aside, after 5 seconds saw turns itself off, and you have to start it again constantly, if you are cutting something and moving cutted logs in same time. Can you start your chainsaw and put it aside to see, will it really turn itself off after 5 seconds. Why is this important for me ? - i am buying thiy chainsaw for my father. He is old and very very short tempered. If chainsaw will keep turning off after 5 seconds he will probably break it. I am very afraid he will break it cuz he has PTSD, he is war veteran. Thats why it matters to me so much. If its possible, please, can you do that test ?
@@i1bike yes it does turn off although I think it is longer than 5 seconds. When I am cutting logs I only need to press the power switch when I put another large log up for cutting. I guess it depends on temperament. It's only 1 thumb press and it right beside the power lever. The saw is much lower maintenance than a gas saw, you just put a battery in, cut and done. Hope this helps

Great review, have the 36v but 18v looks awesome, did you ever get the 40v battery off Makita would love to see what the 40v impact can do 👍 thanks always enjoy your videos
Guys I do have a question regarding Makita DUC353. When the batteries are not installed is it normal that the Chain blockage in the front wont move? I cannot move the lever and just hope its due to the fact that the batteries are not installed
I have the 18v saw pictured. Somehow my battery life doesn’t seem to match what was illustrated here. It really struggles making diagonal cuts like for cutting a notch out for felling too.
Chainsaws are designed to cut wet soft wood, but these saws do very well for their size. Here is the 36v one cutting dead Manuka in NZ which is a hard wood and the saw did better than I thought it would. ruclips.net/video/2tCiVnSVaf0/видео.html
@@BuildsStuff I have a 45cc and 60cc 2stroke saws for cutting Aussie hardwood. My saw of choice? A 40volt chinese made chainsaw!!! Nowhere near as powerful but a 'joy' to use.
@@leonardorojas1781 Its perfect for light work and pruning. Not the best saw to cut firewood with as shown in the video. It does it but you’re better off with a larger saw. That being said, I use mine regularly for light duty work. Easily operated with one hand, wont have that with the 353.

Glad you put the socks on under the flip-flops. Nod to safety.
It's an electric chainsaw. They're much safer than gas saws, so safety can take a back seat

When is your review for those chainsaw safety socks coming out ?
The 18v saw is great for climbing, leave the 36v on the ground
That's no lie. Top handle saws suck on the ground. They belong in the tree.
It cuts more wood on a full battery than I thought

Yep, I absolutely love it. It’s perfect for getting fire wood ready
