Man every time I watch Lyss I get excited about life, no matter what's happening in mine! I honestly think this is the first time I've ever had someone I would call a role model or icon or whatever ❤️ thank you so much Lyss for living so engaged and embodied and vulnerable 🌻
What a truly humbling and inspiring comment. To be honest I’ve been a bit down on myself lately, and this really lifted my spirits. Thank you for the encouragement. 🫶🏼
I love how the car patiently waited for them all to cross the road.
I thought that I liked the cottage with the siding but after seeing the beautiful brick, I've changed my mind. It looks really nice.
Okay, this might sound random but I just HAVE to share this 😂 My boyfriend didn’t have a birthday or anything, but I read somewhere that most men only get their first flowers at their funeral. So I was like... um no, I’m changing that. I got him this LEGO flower bouquet made for men. I handed it to him and said, ‘I read this and thought of you,’ and omg, he actually teared up! 😭
We spent the evening building it together like a little date night, and it was so much fun. Honestly, I didn’t expect him to react like that... I think he was really touched. Anyway, it’s super cute and now it's sitting on his desk haha. Just wanted to share because it made me so happy
Aww that’s sooo sweet!! Now I wanna do that for my bf too 🥺Where did you get it from? I love this idea!
@@VibrantLuna Haha thank you!! ❤I got it through a quick look online, it's called: His First Flower Boyfriend Bouquet. It’s honestly so cute and made just for this
what a beautiful story. you're right , men don't get flowers normally so when suddenly one receives flowers is really unexpected. I have received flowers once in my life ,about ten years ago , and I still remember that day. Would love a lego bouquet lol
I am glad it was covered with removable siding and not white paint. It would be really amazing to frame the note and hang it on the wall.
The brick looks so good. It’s gonna look so much better brick good job restoring it
Red brick is porous, water gets in, expands when freezing and crumbles the brick.
My house had the same problem on my chimney (a 300yr old property in Harwich, Essex UK)
Good luck, hope you get to match the bricks up, also treat the bricks with a waterproofing spray but make sure it's breathable. Something to look into 🙏
Plus they're removing the heat reflective insulation. That brick looks real porous and will need sealed.
Now the new porch doesn't match the house!!
@@Kinann Renovations can't be rushed, you don't buy an Old house for an easy life. It's a real labour of love. The porch will look great, it's in capable hands ❤👍
It got in that state by people not understanding their own buildings, red brick has great earthing/energy powers, it's why it was used, something that has been forgotten over the centuries. That's probably what attracted her to buy it, old houses like that give off an energy.... mine does and is what made me buy mine, although I do occasionally feel like Tom Hanks in The Money Pit 🙄😬🤣
The old mortars were also a problem.......simple lime mortar crumbles badly with age. I pulled down an old chimney (1890 built) here in Australia, and the bricks could be pulled out by hand, or light tap with a hammer. Not structurally sound.
@@wazza33racer I've no idea what my mortar is made from but it's solid, I'm fairly sure that's what's holding the chimney up. It's a honeycomb structure, albeit brick shaped.
I slid smaller bricks in, and mortared round them, leaving the original mortar intact.
Luckily it's in the attic so not seen and only 4x bricks had crumbled??
Love the Brick! Your attitude is like a breath of fresh air! So happy that you and Ben are so happy! You both deserve it! ❤️😊
Idk why, but Ben looks different in this video! He looks great (not that he didn't before), I think it's that he looks happier... and it's not a secret (anymore) you two are together on camera 😊❤❤❤ You two are sooooo sweet ❤
I thought the same thing. Dressed the same but he looks different for some reason.
He does look physically different? Maybe before he always had sunglasses on? Some weight gain? His face looks fuller. Either way, may they be blessed and do great things together. ❤
He looks contented and in love 😍
Hair cut and beard trim! He's looking sharp! Happy guy!
OMG! Your house is beautiful!! I'm glad your Mason can tackle the job, it was the right move to tear off that siding. Love the Yak visit
Lyss!! That brick is so gorgeous! So excited for you and Ben as you continue to uncover this home’s hidden beauty. Please ignore the icky comments. You inspire me, and right now in my life, I need all the inspiration I can get (also restoring a 1920’s home). So thank you. Keep on keeping on girly! ❤
Every now and then, in life, (but not often enough) I come across people who are authentic. You are authentic and a breath of fresh air.
Thank you for sharing your journey, even long before the house renovation! Wishing you and Ben well from Alabama 🙂
My home was built in 1850. as I was watching all that siding come off to expose the brick I got worries. BUT I watched the whole video and you have all your ducks in a row about what comes next. You have a Mason in place! Best wishes that as many surprises that are left can be dealt with and you will successfully make your house dreams come true and all aspects of your life plan!
The blooper was awesome!!
It seems that every time you guys start working on the cottage, you have a party. I guess that makes your videos more enjoyable to watch!
Personally I liked the white siding, but brick is nice too. Can’t wait to see the final results!
The brick arches...I mean HOW CUTE they're above the windows too?!? ❤❤❤ LOVE those 😊
Can't wait to see the mason do his thing. I'm not a fan of painted brick but you may decide to paint it after he finishes.
Hey there young lady. What a fantastic find. Your house is going to look absolutely beautiful once the Mason completes his work, and youse guys take care of the finishing touches. You two take care and be safe. ❤️🍷
It's so wonderful to see you happy. Love Ben. He's great!!!
Lmbo!! “He’s a lil performance shy”.. lol hilarious.. Stay blessed sis.
Lyss, your happiness is infectious! So happy for you, Ben and that beautiful brick house!
The statement you found found you. Good description of your raw nature. Yay, it's a btrickhouse, though missing a few bricks - easy fix. You got a truck load of lumber.
It's been most wonderful. Like a treasure hunt.. you're one beautiful woman. Cheers
If the walls are doublelayered it could be possible to reuse the inside bricks on the outside. Or exspand some of the windows so you can recreate the arch.
❤ I can tell you and Ben are so happy together. I’m so glad that you found your better half. I believe this is the happiest I’ve ever seen you. Can’t wait to seeyour next video with you and Ben.
Omg!! I love love the brick it’s going to look amazing great choice can’t wait for more video on this butterfly transformation 🦋❤️
Busfair 2024! Will there be clips of the adventures, tours and meet-ups there? I always look forward to seeing the amazing rigs and talented people you mingle with at these bus life events.
Lyss, you are so cute, both personality and looks. I so enjoy these videos and so happy for you and Ben. You could entertain a room full of people without even trying! Your laugh is infectious. I always feel happy after watching your videos. I could only be so lucky in my life as a single guy to find your clone that is a little bit older. Thanks for sharing your journey.
I am literally watching my dream life with all the birds and animals and flowers!!! But the house looks amazing with the brick and I am so relieved that the mason isn’t worried about it. That must be such a relief to you. On a personal note, you guys look much more comfortable now that you aren’t trying to be “friends” and you can be what you want. Not that it is anyone’s business but it is beautiful to watch it unfold without boundaries and it kinda helps others see what a good relationship looks like. Goodness knows my parents didn’t model much for me lol. Thank you for sharing your journey and showing us the progress. It is a dream come true for me to get to the mountains and live life. So I am living through your journey each week ❤❤
Awww poor Duncan and family!!! Boo
That’s Amazing!!!! I hope you get it analyzed to see how old the sign was😊
Wow, I never imagined you'd have Muskox so close by.
Oops, I guess they are Yaks.
I think Ben has been a great addition too 😂😅 Great life story... Im a dead thumb for house plants too!
I love that you feed hummingbirds. We do too. We love watching them. Do you mind if I ask if your feeder is red glass or if you put food coloring in your sugar water? If you use food coloring please research it? 🙏🏼 The hummingbirds don’t need red food coloring to be attracted to your feeder (in fact it isn’t good for them). I know you want the best for your little wild life friends. I hope you have a great week 🌴
Wow what an amazing find
Nice vid!
And that last shot of them jumping over the railing and a sleek Mitsu Outlander waiting in the shot as well 👌
So excited for you!
Ben looks so happy! The worries of life has left his face.😊
What beautiful brick!! ❤ And the yaks!!!😂😂
OMG what an amazing discovery. I LOVE the arched windows and the decorative trim details. This is exciting!
Wow! LOTS OF WORK. But it will look great!
so awesome that you are Having a wonderful time and Happy ✌️😊
When you first showed us the house, I wondered if it was brick under that siding. I'm so happy you tore that siding down. Well done.

The brick looks so lovely it will be magnificent when restored
Peeling off the layers and making it better. On the house and on yourselves. Life is for learning. ❤
Edit: you gotta frame that tin and hang it on your entryway!
I LOVE plants 🪴 and that is awesome.
Looking great! 😃🥰
awesome video Great build
It's beautiful!!!
Love the Brick on your cottage!! Beautiful!!! So cool of finding treasures about the town and house!!
The brick makes it look bigger! So crazy!
you got a nice brick house
This is goin be Epic i just known.... Love Ya To Moon n Back Ten Thousand Plus Lyss ❤❤❤💕💕💕💕
Love the brick and love seeing you so happy. Happy for you and Ben ❤
How exciting! Finding the brick, the tin letter, the tunnel!?! Your videos are so interesting!❤
Pretty cool to discover the house is brick. Some looked in good shape, other area could use some attention. It will be nice to have it restored. I'd frame the tin letter and display it in the house. It's a cute house, would like to see more of the interior rooms getting renovated.
When I saw the white siding, my first thought was that the bricks were deteriorating, as one would expect . In my mind adding the insulation and siding was a reasonable choice for several reasons. Masonry repair is expensive. The house was probably very poorly insulated, because ways to insulate have undergone astonishing advances since it was built. Aluminum siding would have made the house warmer in Winter and cooler in Summer . I like white houses .
The house just got so much better!! I would love to know what "ghost town" you are talking about. I love all of the CO history and ghost towns. Not sure who's Yak's those were but there is a guy outside of Fairplay who has some, he may know whose those were.
The brick, looks really sharp. Hopefully, you can get it restored to it's former glory.
Theres no words ... im beyond Happy For U n Ben . U have finally bossomed into what your callin is , n that my girl is a true Blessing... Love U Soooo Much n Bigs Hugs . U GO GIRLY 👧 💓 🦋 U DESERVE TO BE ABSOLUTELY HAPPY N THAT GORGEOUS SMILE IS BACK !!!! YAY❤❤❤ XOXOXOXO
Frame it and put again in the wall would be a cool decor to the house…
That's an interesting find in the wall, I don't know if it's worth anything but I'd definitely get it framed at least. And, the tunnel under the house is interesting in itself. The house honestly looks better as a brick house. The yack was like " nah, I'm taking the long route" lol.
The house is looking great with the siding removed!
Between the free lumber and recycled aluminum siding, it should cover a lot of the masonry expenses! The best thing about masonry is it's almost always salvageable, and always sound even if it needs repair!❤❤❤
Absolutely love the bricks! Its sad whomever put the siding chiselled away the brick so the framing for the siding would be level. I will never understand why people would cover such beauty over those archways. That tin letter you should box frame it and hang it on your wall. That would be awesome! Keep up the great work! You are an inspiration and an uplift to ones spirit!
“Ben there’s a Yak stool on the railing!” Now there’s a sentence I wasn’t expecting 😂😂😂
You're doing a great job being a single person
Very cool. Looking foward to seeing how they restore the brick.
In Roslyn WA The Brick saloon had a tunnel to the mines that they used during prohibition
Oh my god how beautiful of a house Best move ever
Hey Alyssa and BEN💞Couples who work together play together stay together ❣💘I love you guys you are a awesome team .I get so excited to see next steps you both will be taking to unveil the true treasure you will find in this old girl, are you going to give her a name ? Wow your so lucky you have got so many different kinds of wild life in your back yard and seeing the skunks playing they obviously have found a new home close by so Cute an thankyou for showing us the yaks was beginning to think you where going to get ben to help 🤣Thankyou for sharing your very much appreciated hard work. Stay Safe be alert dont get skunked🤧😵💫God bless
The house looks way better with Brooke and I’m so excited for y’all. Can’t see what the outcome will be with all the trim the porch, the brick, and I’m actually curious what color you will choose to repaint all around the windows or the bottom or if you will go with something else.
"She's girthy" your comment about the spider lol!😂 omg Rio wanted those Skunks so bad!!!! Haha. That house is going to be gorgeous when it's done👍
And those Yaks 🤯 im so glad the big fella helped the other lad out!
You'll lose the insulation value of the aluminum siding now
Love your vlogs been a subscriber for a while now it's beautiful where you live house is getting there work in progress as we say in Australia, your plants inside are loving life thanks for sharing your life it's spring here and I'm looking forward to longer days and sunshine ,wow skunks something we don't have here brick looks great too every time you post a video im like grab my coffee and start watching your an inspiration thanks for being you !
Gonna need a lot of checkpoint and I can see that already
tbh they letter looks like a project with tea
Very lucky man Ben! Definitely got a "brick house " in Alyssa! Lol❤❤❤ Happy for you guys, good luck in your adventures!
Love the Yaks...priceless
Hiya , Everybody. I probably would not have removed the cladding, because this was probably used for better heat insulation in those cold winter days in Colorado. But best of luck and you could always cuddle with Ben near the fire place. Good luck sweethearts.
Okay the windows are gorgeous and the detailing...?! 😍 why would someone cover that up
I'll have to save easy plant for later. We're closing on a house next month and I want to fill the space with pet safe plants that are easy to take care of.
My educated guess: After seeing some areas of the brickwork that's damaged or crumbling (that does happen over time and weather), one of the past owners decades earlier felt that was unsightly and covered it all making it look like a wood house.
Love watching Love Is Blind. I watch all of them.
Wowwww the house looks twice as big!!
Please post footage of the month and a half trip
The brick is beautiful! 😊
Hope you have supply house or yard for replacement brick. Red brick is hard to fine called chime brick because of the fire rating. If you have a supply you can cut the brick in shreds to cement unplace of damage one. Also your temperature inside house will change to colder and hotter of the seasons.
Monkeyvroom
Great job you 2👷♂️👷♀️🏠🏡👏🏽👏🏽💪🏾💪🏾👍👍❤️🥃🥃🥃🥃
what a treasure house, thanks for sharing the vid,& the yaks
The two of you are so cute.
Question do you save the old wood? Be careful with the skunks we live on 121 acres and one of those babies spayed and it was horrible ❤
Love your energy and enthusiasm! Yes Ben looks different, that usually happens hen you have the love and support of a good woman. BTW, now would be a good time to call an exterminator to get rid of all them bugs and check for termites.
Those yaks lol. Thanks for sharing that clip.
Omg the ghost story!!!! 🫣😯😳👻
I wonder if the tunnel was during the prohibition time. When I bought my house in Omaha, the neighbors found tunnels under their houses that connected and it was during that time period.
That's EXACTLY what I was thinking. Bootlegging tunnels.
The yaks were a beautiful denumau.
It looks so good!!
Love Love Love the brick❤❤❤ please DO NOT whitewash or paint🙏🙏🙏 Yikes skunks & Rio oh nooooo😂 Can't wait to see the finish of your home!!! So much new in your life CONGRATULATIONS ❤
They will have to "repoint" the loose mortar areas on your house.
