Scammers want reasonable, intelligent people to not fall for their scams. If a CEO, medical doctor, law school professor, or someone else got scammed: they would be very astute at seeking retribution. Most people might work at the hardware store, a dry-cleaning service, or a burger shop. They would be far less able to pursue action against a scammer, particularly one in another country (and thus, they are the target). Fun fact I learned working for a luxury car brand, a lot of these brands don’t have websites with any financial access because of these scams and require the customer to call the finance company and/or dealer directly. Wild people still fall for it.
Lots of times scammers will try to get your personal info which they will sell, like you said, but then also try to get your money. Unfortunately, in areas where these scam centers are at, police don't really tend to get involved which is why it's become such a big problem.

If i was a smart scammer i would actually help you pretend you got the car from the site and use your video as a "proof" that the site is "legit" to look a little bit more trustworthy
