Except this trailer is giving me the vibes of that classic AC feel, seems like the Templars or Order of Ancients will be the main threat again. That works for me, especially since your character has a hood and hidden blade. Those seem like small things but sure missed them when they were gone in Odyssey, Valhalla seems like it might turn out alright.

Terrible story.. the map is pretty... combat is more refined.. that's about it. This should be the assassin's creed to end the series. If you abbreviate it, its ACV or assassin's creed 5. I think that was done on purpose

That hype has died down a bit but these last 1.5 months are going to be very important for marketing. But I guess some people will still wait for reviews because many people are still a bit sceptical mainly because of lack of polish shown so far and to see if it actually fixes the grind problem of Odyssey

AC community is filled with people who hate the newer games and adore the older ones. What's funny is I remember AC3 being the most hated AC game for quite a while, then Unity. Origins from what I remember was widely praised within the fanbase. Fast forward 3 years and now it's one of the most hated and everyone suddenly loved AC3 and Unity.
Because most people who like the series don't have the need to constantly defend it, they just enjoy and play the games and they don't need validation of their bitching and moaning on the internet.
We saw Assassin's in Origins and it's DLC and we see some of the modern day brotherhood Odyssey. It's not like we haven't had them in any of the recent AC games.

The fact that they have brought in 1. Magnus Brunn the male character voice 2. Einar Selvik for music 3. Danheim also music Gives it that extra pull for me. Love Viking and Norse history. Being an assassin doesn’t necessarily mean only sneaking on rooftops. There’s two ways to not make your assassin deeds known: You either hide until you kill the target, or you kill anyone that lays eyes upon you. It’s good enough either ways, I must say.
They have been marketing #LIKEAVIKING a lot on every single trailer for Valhalla instead #LIKEAASSASSIN which is what people have been wanting. They want to appeal to the Viking fanboys and other audiences instead of the AC fanbase I guess which I find very annoying personally.
They want to appeal to Odyssey fans who play for the history aspect more than the assassin aspect first, since it was their best selling game so far :(
Yall know the average Norse height was around 5'8 to 5'9. (Average Saxon height was around 5'5, but the nobility were alot taller). Eivor probably wealthy so lets say he could be closer to 6 foot. Also most of the norse were shredded from hard work in the fields and boat travel. Being massive built is not good for warfare when you do alot of movement. Look at the majority of special operations guys now. Though he does look a bit shorter than the rest of the norse, we will see. I hope they didn't do this to make him match his female counterpart and this is him before his chest and shoulder fill out.

@N7Andy yeah the moment I heard this game is gonna be set in early medievals (9th century or 10th I believe) the first thing that came to my mind is that this game could be actually somewhat of a prequel to AC1 and the fact that the levantine brotherhood are actually in this trailer makes it a big possibility so yeah maybe there will be early snippets of either Masyaf castle construction or its early years. Hell it would be even crazier if Eivor meets or sees Altaïr in some way ( like some kind of future vision from a piece of eden)
Imagine if the game ends on the Hidden Ones building the foundation of what would become the Assassins fortress in Masyaf. Then the final shot is Altair doing the Leap of Faith.

Music score composed by Jesper Kyd, game story written by Darby and Ubisoft reportedly fired a lot of "bad people" in an attempt to reinvent their identity as a publisher in the next generation. Hopefully this is the start of a new era for Ubisoft and Assassins Creed. All we need at this moment is Patrice Desilets returning to Ubisoft...
I believe they have Scandinavian voice actors but I would love them to use an accent. For some may be silly but I like the accents so much, as they give you a glimpse of the sounds of the original language. As a Greek I was so unbelievably happy I finally heard the Greek accent in an AC game!

The biggest problem is people thinking the Assassin's Creed games lore is just Assassin's, and if it has no Assassin's is stops being Assassin's Creed, even if it's full of things from the lore.

Gives it that extra pull for me. Love Viking and Norse history. I know it's getting a lot of hate because it's focusing on the Viking element more than the Assassins elementbut this is the first time I've been genuinely excited for an assassin's creed game since Assassin's Creed 2. Hope it lives up.

Being an assassin doesn’t necessarily mean only sneaking on rooftops. There’s two ways to not make your assassin deeds known:
You either hide until you kill the target, or you kill anyone that lays eyes upon you. It’s good enough either ways, I must say.
My question is why didn't ubisoft show the assassin side like in this trailer to begin with? Could of calmed some people down a bit sooner.

I think they were trying to build up to it although I'm not too certain. I've been questioning ubisofts marketing for quite a while.
They have been marketing #LIKEAVIKING a lot on every single trailer for Valhalla instead #LIKEAASSASSIN which is what people have been wanting. They want to appeal to the Viking fanboys and other audiences instead of the AC fanbase I guess which I find very annoying personally.
They want to appeal to Odyssey fans who play for the history aspect more than the assassin aspect first, since it was their best selling game so far :(
Looks like the story of Sigurd and Randvi are based on Ragnar snd Lagertha from Vikings and Eivor is based on Rollo.

Yall know the average Norse height was around 5'8 to 5'9. (Average Saxon height was around 5'5, but the nobility were alot taller). Eivor probably wealthy so lets say he could be closer to 6 foot. Also most of the norse were shredded from hard work in the fields and boat travel. Being massive built is not good for warfare when you do alot of movement. Look at the majority of special operations guys now. Though he does look a bit shorter than the rest of the norse, we will see. I hope they didn't do this to make him match his female counterpart and this is him before his chest and shoulder fill out.

@N7Andy yeah the moment I heard this game is gonna be set in early medievals (9th century or 10th I believe) the first thing that came to my mind is that this game could be actually somewhat of a prequel to AC1 and the fact that the levantine brotherhood are actually in this trailer makes it a big possibility so yeah maybe there will be early snippets of either Masyaf castle construction or its early years. Hell it would be even crazier if Eivor meets or sees Altaïr in some way ( like some kind of future vision from a piece of eden)
Imagine if the game ends on the Hidden Ones building the foundation of what would become the Assassins fortress in Masyaf. Then the final shot is Altair doing the Leap of Faith.
@N7Andy yeah this is the first time in years I actually have my hopes up for an Assassins Creed game. There's so much potential in this one. Music score composed by Jesper Kyd, game story written by Darby and Ubisoft reportedly fired a lot of "bad people" in an attempt to reinvent their identity as a publisher in the next generation. Hopefully this is the start of a new era for Ubisoft and Assassins Creed. All we need at this moment is Patrice Desilets returning to Ubisoft...

I believe they have Scandinavian voice actors but I would love them to use an accent. For some may be silly but I like the accents so much, as they give you a glimpse of the sounds of the original language. As a Greek I was so unbelievably happy I finally heard the Greek accent in an AC game!
