Glad you asked this question. It is going on 3 years now. They seem to be holding up well for a cheaper brand shock. They ride great and all the bouncing stopped. Thanks for the feedback.
Did you replace the front end with a Detroit axle kit? How's it working for you? Btw is your truck 4x4 or 4x2? I have a 2003 ram 1500 4x4 but my setup looks different on the bottom of the shocks.
This one is a 4x2 . Yes this was detroit axle shocks . They have been pretty good for the price . I know they have been on for several months and are holding up good so far. The 4wd bolt up different at the bottom with bolt sliding through vs the 2 small bolts holding it up I believe . Thanks for watching
Not if you leave it on the ground to do the work. Otherwise you should jack up under the lower control arm a little, while the rest of the truck is on jack stands. if you don't do that, your top nut may cross thread and stick on you, requiring you to cut the top bolt to remove the shock.
Watched couple other videos this was the best , Thanks.
Thank you for the terrific service.
Thanks man. Much appreciated you. I was in a bind until I saw your video. 😅

How many years on those shocks, and how did it ride afterwards?

if I put a bigger shock I have to replace the spring too or I can leave it
Thanks man. Those old shocks were really gone. Probably going to find the same on mine when the shocks come in.
Thanks for watching.
Nice video and nice work. Look like you done a lot already to your front suspension. Looks great.
Thank you for the terrific feedback.
The 3 suggestion and ideas where awesome heading back out there now to tackle the job
Ok so no need to compress the spring or anything? Awesome

Also, don't tighten top nut until tire is remounted and the rig is on the ground.
Why did you re-use the old bushings? Were they polyurethane, or something?
The oem , were made better than the aftermarket. Thanks for the feedback.
Great video! Thanks
