I recently moved from Denon (with MultEQ-X) to Onkyo with Dirac Live and BC MultiSub. The curve (measured via REW) looks pretty similar, however, the sound is completely different. With Denon and MultEQ-X I got perfectly controlled bass, all the way down to below 20Hz, but it never had that Punch and that wow feeling that having two 15" Subs in a small room should have given me. Now with the Onkyo and Dirac, the bass suddenly kicks much harder, I get actual tactile bass for the first time in my Home Theatre. I don't know exactly what made the difference, it might have been how Dirac handles timing vs Audyssey or it might be partially due to how Denon handles LFE compared to Onkyo, but whatever it is, I am very happy with the results.
Just a friendly check-in: 1) If you are using the 90 degree calibration file for the UMIK-1 then the UMIK-1 should be positioned so that it is straight up and not angled off to the side. This will help get you the most accurate readings for your calibration 2) Pretty sure I read somewhere that the gain on the mic should be adjusted to 100% prior to taking your measurements. It may be why your initial levels are low. Keep up the good work 🍺
Great video .. can i ask which version of dirac. I currently have the full bandwidth one with a denon 3800h is that enough for directional base? I know theres a bass control option coming what does that do? Also any word or art?
I think youre still missing 2 things. 3 technically speaking. 1) I think you have to adjust the subwoofers target curve curtain to 10hz. Dirac can correct down to 10 hz, and your 4 subs can definitely give you 10hz in that room. Default dirac left side curtain is 16.5hz. So combine all 4 subs to 1 group, then drag the left curtain to 10hz. More magic will happen. It'll use all that headroom you have towards making 10hz. 2) I think you can ask dirac for a sponsorship code for their bass control addon. The multi sub addon is something you HAVE to try in this room with the 4 klipsch. I'm sure it'll be also very transformative. 3rd is dirac art, but that's not out yet. Try #1 and #2 first.
sir i am from india i am asking you which brand sound are better or great output Denon Or Marantz my current AVR is Denon X3800h i upgraded to Marantz cinema 30 this is value for money or not ? UMIK - 1 or UMIK - 2 which are more accurate for caliberation

No on and off demo?
you talked me into it. I did not think it would make that big of a difference
Really worth it👌🏻
Hello, thanks for the Video! Did you use the 10db target curve also in the subs?
Hi, yes i used the 10DB curve👌

Mine is also the full bandwidth and to me its good enough. But ill do a video on the advanced bass early next year.
They released the full bass control version just after your video. Would love to get your thoughts on it. I'm thinking about it
@@wayneiceman going to try do this early next year👌
DL BC Multisubs add-on cetainly works for me ... but I got 6 subs 2x REL S 2x Rel T and 1x SVS with 1x Arendal.... so quite a combination ;-)
@@ericshutter5305 sounds complicated.

Are you using the new dirac bass control now available?
