'I was only about four-hundred years too old for the part'.
Sir Roger Moore
When the Saint is right, the Saint is right
That Duran Duran song still a banger.
25:40 Great comedy with Roger Moore's body double falling down on the wedding cake
This is the James Bond that Austin Powers was making fun of.
Austin Powers looked like the Presidents Analyst (1969) more than anything
The first Austin Powers was aiming pretty clearly at the Connery ones. But I guess View to a Kill (which admittedly I haven’t seen) was approaching being a Bond parody itself, so I’m not surprised if it was an influence.
Judo Chop! 😆
Wrong
Yessss and Sean Connery
I figured you guys would tackle Die Another Day before A View to a Kill. But the thing about this movie is Walken and Jones carry the hell out of it.
Yes!! Please do Die Another Day!! It was Pierce Brosnons' worse.
Don't forget Roger Moore and Tanya Roberts!
And Duran Duran's soundtrack!
'Die Another Day' is terrible - except for that scene at the fencing club which is great LOL
@@Thewingkongexchange and the space laser!?! Marjorie Trailer Park Green is afraid of that still today
Really I think worlds not enough is way less entertaining

Yall should do Action Jackson for #ripcarlweathers
Action Jackson is so damn fun. Super cheesy, over the top B movie macho goodness. How it didn't become a series is both an absolute mystery & crime.
#RIPCarl
Retro Movie Review indeed. Hope to see a SOLID tribute to the great Carl Weathers like they had done for Paul 'Pee Wee Herman' Reubens. ❤
@@danavixen6274 I'm sure they will
I hope so it's really a classic
They have as a retro review 😎.
The part where Billy, Martin and Korey have a slugfest mid review is the best part tbh
When Billy said "I'm about to leave your ass in a minute" I almost fell out of my chair at work. That's why I love these bad movie roasts! I always get better help therapy when I laugh with Double Toasted!
Thank you Korey! The fact that you pulled this off while being sick is nothing short of amazing
A VIEW TO A KILL is my all time favorite Bond film.
Awesome chart topping theme song.
Awesome cold open action sequence.
Awesome high speed city chase sequence.
It introduced me to Christopher Walken, and Max Zorin is my favorite Bond villain.
I knew of Grace Jones beforehand, but the obliterated the mold of both Bond girls and Bond henchmen could be.
I love, love, love the movie! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Totally agree! Though every Roger Moore outing was great starting with Live and Let Die.
@@georgehenderson7783 👏👏👏👏
It's definitely one of my favorites and isn't as bad as Corey and crew would have you think. My all-time fave, however, is Thunderball.
Max Zorin laughing his ass off gunning down a mine full of his employees.
"Good! We're right on schedule."
I think Jones knew something about the Bond girls. She said "They ain't me."
I used to think muscular women were disgusting as a kid but then I saw Grace Jones in this movie and completely changed my mind. I already had a thing for henchwomen
I like strong women 💪
48:44 - yeah for some reason, the Roger Moore films always had to have a drunk guy around to witness the action (I think in 'TSWLM', 'Moonraker' and 'FYEO' it was the same guy).
Grace Jones was a badass in this movie. She was one of the only good things about Conan the Destroyer too.
I love Grace!!! ❤
Facts she saved that movie
"If you have nothing good to say. Say nothing at all. So I'll say nothing about Grace Jones" - Sir Roger Moore.
Definitely one of the best theme songs for a Bond movie ever! :)
Objectively, this movie is terrible. Subjectively I fucking love it.
Roger Moore even admitted this movie wasn’t that good. He mostly pointed out the age gap between him and the Bond girl
@lenindominguez1986Was there more than one in this movie? Haven’t watched it, only know the reputation.
It's not that good but it's not bad either it's more mediocre. The worst Moore Bond is Moonraker which is far worse then this.
@@thefirstbourne149 May Day (Grace Jones' character) and Stacey Sutton (Tanya Roberts). Sutton is the one they wanted to push more as a direct love interest in the story since May Day is for the majority of the film, more of a femme fatale type kind of like what they'd do later with Xenia Onatopp in GoldenEye
Agreed@@boomstickcritique902
The age gap is a problem - but I seem to remember the bigger age gap was with him and Caroline Bouquet from 'For Your Eyes Only'.
Going from this crap to TIMOTHY DALTON within 2 years was a BIG CHANGE AND NEEDED. Got Dalton 007 tattoo on my arm.
LICENCE TO KILL is probably the most underrated Bond movie ever, my 2nd favorite Bond movie behind CASINO ROYALE.
“Oh well…” *KABOOM*
Laughed SO HARD on this one. You guys are so damn funny… on to Superman III next.
This was in fact Lois Maxwell's last Bond Film to be part of the James Bond Family since Dr. No to A View to a Kill.
And also, this is Dolph Lundgren first film (in a smaller role) before he was in Rocky 4 (in which it came the same year as this film comes out)
Exactly, what a missed golden opportunity to have had him as main henchman.
1:01:05, he really lookin at the audience like "That's all folks!" 🤣🤣🤣
May Day's death is one of the best in the franchise.
This was the first James Bond I saw growing up. Christopher Walken and Grace Jones were awesome. This should've been Timothy Dalton's first outing because he would've been age appropriate to the film.
Yeah, me too. I loved it. I also had a record/storybook version of it. Grace Jones as Mayday was awesome. She was the best part of Conan the Destroyer, too.
Don't know why they only had Timothy Dalton once. He was in his 40s in The Living Daylights, and he still looks good in Doom Patrol from a couple years ago
Timothy Dalton would have been great too, but Roger Moore at age 58 pulled it off. ✌
@@AliceBowieDalton also did Licence to Kill
I think TD did great in license to kill and living daylights
Yo That’s. A Norelco shaver as a spy device 😂😂😂
There were some pretty funny moments in A View to a Kill to be sure, which just made it all the more entertaining.
Some great action sequences, especially the firetruck scene and of course the Golden Gate bridge scene at the end.
Christopher Walken was perhaps the best 007 villain ever! And Roger Moore, at age 58, pulled it off one last time.
And great soundtrack by Duran Duran. I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. 🙂✌
If they're still doing their Retro Reviews, that would be an EXCELLENT choice!👍
Billy Laugh 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I actually think this movie could've been substantially better if they made Moore's age by this time a core plot point regarding Bond himself. There's a scene in the movie where Stacey Sutton is going to sleep and instead of just getting in bed with her like he would usually do and like what he does with freaking Grace Jones earlier, he just watches over her kind of like a paternal guardian. Obviously it's a small detail and it gets completely undermined later when the film ends on them showering together but I think they could've actually leaned into the fact Bond was past his prime and had to accept the fact he wasn't as physically capable of doing certain things that came as natural to him before, especially paired with Walken and Jones as villains since they were what injected the film with a lot of that younger energy
When Korey said, when they killed Frenchie,Lol 🙂
Billy's laughter and Martin's cackle are the only things that brought me joy while revisiting the worst James Bond movie
Also the worst 007 movie ever made: Die Another Day with Pierce Bronson. It sucks like melted ice. 😂
@@adampellett4917DAD was the worst. This is second. A bit of comedy is fine, but this is just bad.
@@adampellett4917 An honorable mention for worst bond flick also goes to Moonraker. Just silly enough to keep it from being the absolute worst but still god awful.
Quantum of Solace is worse because the editing is horrible
Pure black male joy 🤩 😂
A View to a Kill is the first thing that comes into my head when talking about Bad Bond films. Poor Roger Moore even he knew he was old for this but the Duran Duran song still is pretty awesome
A fatal kiss…is all we *NEEeeEED* 🎵😅
DANCE.....INTO THE FIYAH!
tbh like the last FOUR Roger Moore bonds where terrible
@@EdgeO419 Nah, they were all great! Roger Moore WAS 007.
"I read somewhere you said everything gets better with age"
"that´s bollocks" Roger Moore (during an episode of have I got news for you)
OK, I was 11 when this came out, and even I knew not to take it too seriously. In fact, I can admit Roger Moore is STILL my favorite Bond. For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy and A View to a Kill were my introduction to the franchise ( along with Never Say Never) and hooked me for life.
I love you guys, Double Toasted. You guys always make me laugh when I’m down. I remember Roger Moore admitting A View To Kill wasn’t his best movie. But at least Roger is on the list of actors who have played James Bond.
Not gonna lie, I have a soft spot for this one. I love Christopher Walken and Grace Jones in this PLUS John Barry's score is one of the best in the series. It's considered one of the worst Bonds but I think it's ok... just bland.
The music is the best thing about it. After the stupid California Girls, there’s that slow guitar riff that basically saves that ridiculous skiing scene. You can tell it’s a stunt double. It’s so obvious throughout the movie. Almost as bad as DAD. Moonraker had a great theme but was terrible too.
This movie i still believe is the basis for xXx . As much as Austin Powers is a send of the Bond movies, but, there is one which Myers used as the basis of the overall story. A View to a Kill is the main blueprint to that first xXx. Id like to see DT do retro & bad movie reviews for the other Roger Moore Bonds
for all that is bad in this film, the Paris stunt, Duran Duran theme and the novelty of seeing some performers in here like Grace Jones, Christopher Walken and Dolph Lungdren
If Christopher Walken was in it, I know he ate up his role and is beyond reproach.
Yer rite!
He basically was proto Elon Musk in this movie
Bond Comes back two minutes later to the crowd around the dead French guy…
“Right, I have a better one… Float like a butterfly, sting like a needle full of poison….
Yeah, I will workshop it some more.”
I find it funny that the PS2 game, Everything or Nothing, called back to this dreck by having the villain (voiced by Williem Dafoe no less) be a prodigy of Zorin. Fun game, by the way.
The villain was pretty sadistic though :O
"This'll hurt him more than me." Christopher Walken was a great villain, perhaps the best in the 007 series.
The deranged laughter is priceless. Even as he's about to die, he's still trying not to laugh.
When he was machine gunning his own workers and cackling like a lunatic.
Wow.
@@michaelsinger4638 that was too dark even for a bond film
@@Thewingkongexchange not to mention having raised by a german n*zi scientist who experimented on pregnant women
Walken NEVER disappoints
Walken may be in bad movies, but he never makes a bad performance
Best 007 villain!
TRUE! He's GREAT at being bad!
Even though this is most definitely NOT a bad movie, I enjoyed this review highlighting the comedic scenes.
Christopher Walken's that's the exact same look in Batman's returns😢
Unironically this is one of my favorite Bond movies just because of how unapologetic it is with its pure schlock. Classic popcorn movie, sit back and turn your brain off and just have fun with it.
I was born in '71, Moore was my era Bond and I grew up with these movies coming on ABC on Sunday nights (I actually saw VIEW TO A KILL in the movies), Moore started off strong following Connery with LIVE AND LET DIE (one of my favorites), THE MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN and THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, shit went downhill quick with MOONRAKER (the silliest Bond movie to date) then just got boring with FOR YOUR EYES ONLY and OCTOPUSSY. Now I thought VIEW TO A KILL was a fun movie...but Moore just looked tired (Vin Diesel tired like in the latest F & F movies) and he was just too damn old (Moore was older than Connery), if I am correct he was older than (the late) Tonya Roberts mother.
On the plus Christopher Walker and Grace Jones hammed it up as the villains....I always thought they were great. The Moore era made the Bond movies to comedic though.
I enjoy this movie in all its badness. Especially the soundtrack
What badness?
I watched this again recently during a 007 binge-watch (all but the most recent two prior to No Time to Die were on Amazon Prime)
I’m old enough to have seen The Spy Who Loved Me on the big-screen, and certain Bond films like this are better than most give credit for. Nothing that happens in View is as silly as the car-plane nor as anticlimactic as Scaramanga’s death in Golden Gun.
I mean, yeah Sir Roger was 55-56 and it has its share of groan-worthy humor and coincidental plot devices but it was entertaining then, and still is same as Octopussy (despite the clown and gorilla suits etc.)
I agree, This movie gets picked on, but Roger Moore's Bond films were very silly from the start. Better made than A View to a Kill and Moore wasn't as old, but the stuff that happens in them was always very silly. This movie I think embraces the silliness completely. Moonraker is way more outlandish and that movie has Jaws falling in love.
Roger Moore was to James Bond what Adam West was to 1960's Batman. This movie inspired the Austin Powers franchise 🤣🤣🤣
Unpopular opinion: View to a Kill is my favorite Bond film -- I mean Christopher f***ing Walken as the bad guy... Grace f***ing Jones even more stunning than her music videos, Tanya f***ing Roberts the hottest MILF from That 70's Show... a great cleavage shot in the opening titles ... plus the prediction that a Silicon Valley billionaire would turn out to be a mass murderer. Not to mention the invention of the snowboard, the robot spy camera and the iceberg submarine!!! An excellent re-watch value as well. Seen it over a dozen times.
Maybe I'm a little rusty on my James Bond movies, but I think most of the Roger Moore era of 007 movies are comedic based and cartoonish than the others. Moonraker to me was the silliest one. They were in outer space shooting lasers. A View To A Kill was not the best, but there are sillier ones from the Roger Moore era.
Wow that's a bad effect 👀 6:42

Moore was too old for the part, obviously, but Walken and Jones are fun villains, who made the film feel interesting.
007 movies have ups and downs till that movie you guys roasting came and I understand how that film wasn’t that great. Great entertainment, fellas especially you, Billy. 😊
P.S. Duran Duran made the best 007 song better than that movie.
Thank you, guys!!! I've been craving another bad movie review, and this one really hits the spot. I forgot how completely ridiculous A View To A Kill is. Dummies, action figures, models, and Christoper Walken being goofy - what a film!
I had coffee coming out of my nose this was so damn funny. I love you guys 😂🤣😭
Roger Moore was, like, what? Almost 60 when he was in this film? He was old enough to be Grace Jones' father at that point.
And he still pulled it off.
Not a good movie, but Christopher Walken is great as Max Zorin.
I swear that Frenh taxi driver is drinking a glass of wine at the wheel😂😂
Paris is lovely at this Time of the year, Lol 🙂
I’m so old I saw this in the theater when it first came out….. of course I’m older than Soylent Green too so. This is seriously one of my favorite bond movies and Roger Moore has always been my favorite Bond. His best one was Moonraker though, so yeah, now watch that one.
The Green Screen loooks like a screen in a drive-in movie. 😆 🤣
I don't know if Rodger Moore's Bond was attempting to imitate the Peter Sellers Jacques Cousteau or if it was the other way around by this point in history
38:26 It's cheesy, but I'm a sucker for this trope
Grace Jones is an interesting one. You ever see her in Vamp? Or Wolf Girl? The latter is super bizarre, with Tim Curry.
Lol coincidentally I just ordered From Russia with Love for gamecube cuz the game is supposed to be really good. Plus Dolph Lundgren has a cameo in this, that and May day was hot back in the day. That said this is still as fun as the other Bond films, as dumb as it is. BTW RIP Carl Weathers, 😭 the man was a LEGEND.
This movie was terrible but so good! Grace Jones made me love this movie. To see this striking, tall, black beauty woman was everything to a 10 year old little girl.
Grace Jones is pretty gorgeous in this film. Might be one of the sexiest Bond Girls in the entire 007 franchise.
Grace Jones is probably the best part of this movie, because she at least came to act, everyone else is on autopilot or hamming it up like Walken.
This movie is great!
I love all the james bond movies but i never seen this one too much i remember playing on tv all the time back in the day but i do like the duran duran james bond song n video n also i like the other james bond movie with others guy n also the james bond songs n videos too especially the one with glady knight n pattie labelle n plus the other james bond movie with hallie berry n plus the james bond song that madonna did too n also the james bond jr cartoon n james bond video games n plus the last one they made too😎😎😎😎
I like this movie, a lot of it is carried by Christopher Walken’s fun performance, but this one has an over the top charm. I enjoy.
I was fully expecting Die Another Day to be the Bond film you guys would review
Love the way you guys have fun with bad movies. I think a retro movie review of the 1977 Richard Pryor film Which Way is Up would be a perfect film for you guys to review.
That gadget that lets 007 see through the window, actually appears to be intended to see through closed curtains. In the frame where it shows him adjusting the glasses, you can see what looks like a window with closed curtains, in the reflection of his glasses. Next frame appears to be viewed as seeing the couple talking behind curtains, but through bond's glasses, they are visible--as if the glasses frame of view was rectangular like a window, and not round like the frame of the glasses. The camera trick they used to film this shot seems to be a mirror positioned in the foreground with curtains as a background, while what we're seeing is the reflection of the couple at the table, physically located behind camera, but meant to appear as through/behind the curtains.
Nah Korey that ad drop was sloppy 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Billy’s laugh lights the world
The worst Bond movie but the best Bond song. I will die on this hill.
The worst Bond movie? Worse than Never Say Never?
Best song, eh? That's a tough one, so many great ones. What about Nobody Does It Better by Carly Simon?
@@georgehenderson7783 Carly Simon is awesome, but I’m still firmly on Team Duran Duran on this issue.

I remember Korey & Billy losing a bet to Tony (Cohost) about whether or not Roger Moore starred in this.
Lost a dollar each 😂
You guys should have included the part where Christopher Walken grabs the axe when he comes outside the airship to deal with the pesky Roger Moore and Tanya Roberts
Okay but the theme is a BOP….then again I go off for Duran Duran 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and I’m mad Miss Moneypenny’s dress look like one of my Easter dresses….sis you a grown woman 😆😆😆😆

Great job guys! I hate this movie but it was the first Bond movie I saw.
This was the first James Bond movie I remember seeing. I remember how good the theme song was. Loved Grace Jones and Christopher Walken were good as villians. RIP to Tanya Roberts and Roger Moore.
NGL, I never would've thought you would review A View To A Kill. I actually like the movie, but you guys reviewing it made it my night, Laughed my ass off hard.
A lot of people said that this was Roger Moore's worst Bond Movie, and i disagree with that. I would give that to Moonraker. At least A View To A Kill entertained me. Moonraker bored me.
Same. This is my guilty pleasure, I'd take this over moonraker and the man with the golden gun any day if the week
I saw this movie when I was a kid and I still love it!! LOL - Amazing soundtrack and title song!!
As someone else suggested, they should really do a Retro Review for ACTION JACKSON (1988)!
Nice comparison to Smokey And The Bandit, given that Roger Moore appeared in Hal Needham's Cannonball Run a few years ago. Kind of a funny character, too. Roger Moore plays a rich heir named Seymour Goldfarb, who is so delusional that he pretends to be... Roger Moore.
More Bond movie reviews!
I love this movie and I make no apologies for it lol
Sir Roger Moore (R.I.P.), by all accounts, was the coolest cat to have played James Bond yet. But, all of his 007 flicks nearly could’ve doubled as comedies. A View to a Kill isn’t even the most farfetched one. That “honor” belongs to either “the Spy Who Loved Me” or “Moonraker.” With the exception of “For Your Eyes Only,” Moore’s 7 Bond flicks may not be fine art-but I like them just fine. This was a fun review.
I agree on For Your Eyes Only. It's his best Bond film IMO.
I was 10, this Roger Moore was my Bond... but this was a stinker... a fun stinker for a 10 year old, but a stinker.
You guys forgot to mention Dolph Lundrin made a brief appearance in the film. At the time he was dating Grace Jones
I'm not going to lie. That segue into the sponsor of the video had be laughing hard. Especially after seeing Martin's face.
To bad this Bond is so bad and goofy, having Christopher Walken as the main villain was a really great choice
Original choice was David Bowie.
@@rexmundi2986 Wow thats interesting
I love this film
More cartoonish than this? I think Moonraker deserves a review.
Ahh man, I had no idea that Midge from that 70s show died.
I know she had a body of work, but that's what I mostly knew her for. Lol
R.i.p. tho 🙏
I've taken all I can take and I can't take no more. A View To A Kill is a great movie, one of the underrated Bond films. Enough of the madness. Duran Duran with the theme song. Dolph Lundgren, Grace Jones, Christopher Walken. The cast was awesome. I don't give a damn what any of you say. I love this film and my top 5 all time Bond films. I do appreciate this comedic breakdown of the movie. It's definitely entertaining, but for me all the quirkyness is what makes AVTAK so great.
I thoroughly enjoyed this movie.
Roger Moore at age 58 pulled it off in his last 007 outing and Christopher Walken was perhaps the best 007 villain ever.
You guys released this just in time after I finished binging the Bond films for the first time within the last month! This is one of my least favorites of the bunch but it’s pretty funny!
As bad as "A View to Kill" is I rather watch it more than Die Another Day. To me, Die Another Day is worst James Bond movie ever and almost killed the James Bond franchise!
Bond's on X-GAMES MODE. Man..I miss OG X-Games.
This my favorite movie! 😂😂😂..favorite Bond film
Damn i love how he segues into the sponsor portion. Shit has me laughing every time.
Imagine if this had been Timothy Dalton’s first time as Bond
