I bought a first generation Code Speedwall and every time I rode them I swore they were my favorite skis. I'm an off piste kind of guy but those codes served me well for over 100 days in seven years. This review gives me hope and I'll be shopping for a pair this year.
GREAT Video Guys, especially loved the action-on-piste shots in the second half. Very professional filming, great skiing skills, overall impressive to watch!
Big help for my demo ski rental choice this season. Mad Volkl fan so good to see how these new aseason skis perform. Keep up the great work. Wow how cool are the runs at Stowe. Great filming....
We're located in Stowe and shoot most of our content at Stowe Mountain Resort. It has a great mix of terrain for testing skis. Steeps, cruisers, groomed, un-groomed, little bit of everything.
Hi there. I ski since years with a pair of Volkl P50 GS racing. Beasts on piste but hard pretty hard for knees and power required. >I would like a ski to be able to ski powerfully on piste but also go off piste. I found in my favourite shop in Turin Italy (unfortunately I live far from the mountains since years and I can ski only when I go back there like I will do next week....!!) a pair of Deacon 76 half price. They must be great but do not have the chanve to try them so difficult to understand the difference from my previous ones. This is an opportunity anyway. At the same time I looked up some reviews of the Mantra M5 and they look good on piste and off piste. Should I look for a pair of these instead? Deacon 76 come with binding.....the others unfortunately not. What do you suggest? Thank you.
Just replied to your comment on the other video as well. I'd look for an M5 Mantra. That ski is much better in off-piste situations. While there are a lot of improvements in the Deacon 76 compared to your P50, it still requires a lot of power and skier input and isn't going to be very user-friendly in softer snow conditions, much like your P50s.

I suspect you'll like the Deacon even more than your Codes!!

What size did you test, and what's your height and weight?
YO. Those turns tho... I just picked up some all mountains (Atomic Vantage 90) but now this has got me wanting a pair of racers lol.
You can't carve that good on the vantage? Im still considering which ones to buy, between the volkl and vantage 90s...
Been skiing these for a few years for groomers and loving them.
Very nice, indeed! Surprised at their versatility, too!

Good review. Just curious. Where is this recorded? Looks like easy going slopes with lots of carving possibilities. Thx

Don't have any need for the skis, just wanted to pop by and drop a like for the best channel on YT!
Thanks!

I need to replace my Code. These look similar
How does it compare to the Head Supershape I.Rally ?
Above the waist, Bob is like a normal sized dude. His legs though were stolen from a massive viking. And some how grafted on.
I dunno, in person he's a pretty big dude overall! Although, maybe that's my perception, as I'm a pretty small/average sized dude at 5'10, 150 lbs.
You should give the 10 year old girl at the bottom her poles back
Hah! If you think Bob's poles are short, mine would drive you crazy. They're mogul/park length.
