I loved cheerios being the sponsor and how they promoted the team with the helping hands pit crew and all the petty themed cereal boxes over the years. I was so sad when they moved on to RCR in 2009.
Ms. Moffitt and Petty Family, It is a treat to watch all these history vignettes-I always wondered what the General Mills sponsorship was like. I still think STP and just STP. But that was wonderful how General Mills treated you to the trip to Minnesota-and put your kiddos on Wheaties boxes! AWESOME! Thank you for opening up! Please, keep the stories coming! -Joe #PettyFanForLife
I loved the Cheerios sponsorship! A favorite memory with my then little nephew was the 2006 4th of July race at Daytona. Bobby Labonte and the Cheerios Dodge was dealing it. From 34 to battling for the lead. Late in the race Jimmie Johnson wrecked us out. My nephew and I threw our hats and I was reminded "little ears, little ears" 😂😂. Needless to say one of the reasons I am not a JJ fan, what could have been if he had not wrecked us?? Sad moment but still good memory. 💙
When Dodge came back into NASCAR in 2001 Cheerios put Evernham red Dodges in the boxes - nice 1:64 of Bill Elliott and Casey Atwood Intrepids. I still have the 24 year old unopened boxes, but also bought dupes that I'm looking at now... 24years ago I put a tiny flourescent green stripe on the Atwood car - being a rookie and all, lol. 👀
Watching the King sign autographs on the side, I would bet that the King has signed more autographs than anyone in history. I know there's no way to prove this, but I would think it's a safe bet . Give me a a name that could come close? Ya can't do it .
Great video, Rebecca!! I love how the King is just signing away in the background ~ love the Petty family!
I have an autographed photo of The King in a frame on my wall.
