One of the greatest benefits of views from above is the ability to make out structures - if not entire communities - that are currently buried in sand. North, at the approach to the Delta proper, the City of Antinous, built by the Emperor Hadrian to commemorate his favourite who drowned in the Nile, has been identified. This is a wonderful video; Thank You for sharing it with us.
Great video! Thank you. I am booked with Viking this November. I have a question I’m hoping you can answer. I didn’t see any guest with a dslr type camera. I was hoping to use mine while on the hot air ballon tour. I know Egypt has rules for photography so do you know if we are able to use larger cameras on this tour? Thank you
Hello. Thanks for watching. We had such a great time on this excursion. I didn't hear about any camera restrictions for cameras and traveled with several who used DSLRs. I would check with Viking if you think some rules might exist. Happy travels
You will have an amazing time for sure. Most daily excursions are included, but you have a couple options not to miss, I think. The balloon ride and the trip to Abu Simbel are amazing. Happy cruising and thanks for watching.
Definitely miss the Philae temple light show - it's really cheesy and you'll visit in the daytime anyway. The market/dinner event is a trip of two halves. The market is an amazing experience but the dinner isn't great. We thought it was worth an average dinner to experience the market at night
What an exciting video! I appreciate the footage of crossing the river and waiting to load up. It really helps you understand all that's involved before take off. How long are you in the air? thanks for sharing
Thank you so much for watching. It was really an exciting excursion, and I did want people to know all about the process. We were in the air for at least 30 minutes I think. It was fabulous! Happy travels!
This was well worth the early wake up and extra cost. We felt perfectly safe, although I know balloon ride safety can be in question sometimes. They are well trained pilots and stress all safety procedures, from what we experienced. Happy travels. Thanks for watching.
It was a boat ride across and then a bus ride, so about 45 minutes to get from the boat to the balloons. There is no weight limit. They would just put fewer people in your basket of need be. The wife booked, and I believe it was more than $200 per person. Thanks for watching! Have a wonderful cruise.
Our John: How envious I am! I am Mad for Egyptian Antiquity, and studied in the Country during my University years.
Have a wonderful, Wonderful time!
Cheers!

I just booked our hot air balloon tour via Viking March 2025.. I can't wait. Thanks for sharing
Have a wonderful time. Thanks for watching.
We've booked for Dec 2024 on the Viking Anton with pre & post. Any advice on tours to skip - otherwise the list of things to do seems too large.

Did you feel safe in the balloon? I'm terrified of heights and flying, but this looks like something not to be missed.

After getting u early, how long is the coach ride to the balloons? What was the cost of the excursion? Is their a weight limit (hubby is a big guy)?
