- The ease with which one can use concrete is called workability. It is one of the physical parameters of concrete which affects the finesse, strength and durability. Here’s how you can check the workability of your concrete.
What a useful and clear explanation thank you 🌹

Hello Ngeth, we are glad you like our video. You can always visit www.ultratechcement.com for more such videos and information. Regards, Team UltraTech.
fantastic work
every layer should be tamped 25 times, not stroked 25 times. Tamping method is wrong. This is the common mistake in most of the sites. At least ultratech should do properly.
I want this
Now 3 layers... New code.. some one told please reply any one three layers or four layers
when lifting cone don't rotate stump con
naays 1
hindi
😡😡😡😡
For everyones benefit, acceptable safe slump for reinforced foundation walls/footings/pavement 25-80mm, beams/columns 25-80mm, slab 50-100mm, piling 100-150mm. Beyond these values are not safe.
Thanks man
*I also have youtube channel related to CIVIL ENGINEERING PRACTICAL KNOWLEDGE.*
no rotation allowed when lifting the cone see ASTM C143
Carefully in a vertical direction. By a steady upward lift with no lateral or torsional motion.
u are sly😂😂...... no twist when lift the cone....😂😂😂
Slump test express the consistency of concrete mix, workability is measured by " Compacting factor" or " Remoulding test by Jolting" or " V.B test".
As per IS 1199 slump cone is filled in four layer,so don't confuse with comments. This video is wonderful and precise
ruclips.net/video/q0G17VnmZG8/видео.html
Wrong
Not ASTM C 143 but Indian Standard (IS-1199) ?
Depending on what standard you are using
Hey fantastic work guys. Thank you for explaining it well - very helpful!
I watched a 5 hour pour of a hotel foundation in Spain and not one slump test was undertaken.
Goodluck on that building! 😅
The slump mold is filled in three layers (ACI grade 1). Not in four layers like you said. Sorry wrong.
Dear.....they're perfect.check your basics once again.
ATSM C143: "Immediately remove the mold by raising the mold in a steady, vertical direction. *** There should
be no lateral or torsional motion of the mold while lifting. ***"
Yep, i don't know what code does this channel is following.

rotate of the cone to create collapsible and shear slump should be lifting gratually
Wow that was bad, you fail ACI Testing
Thanks for explaining the information in such a way that everyone can understand. Good lesson.

Watching this video just minutes before exam
You’d fail hands on portion of ACI test if you followed this procedure.
砂利が多いし、5cmでこの水加減…
後、スランプコーンひねったら正確な数値にはならないかと。突き方にもムラがあったし、3層目なんか突き棒が先しか刺さってない。

*Point To be Noted:-* Slump length measured from UP Side 🙂
All these techinical knowledge is of no use, if you get crappy old cement from the the dealer. I have followed up with Ultratech and got no reply whatsoever for old stock that was sent out to me in very poor condition bags with almost 2 inch holes. Here in Hyderabad, its a common malpractise to liquidate the old stock from the warehouse. Even the people in higher positions are of no help, when you take this to their notice. Better dont buy Ultratech cement. We learnt our lesson.
slump cone also out of calibration and slump should not be rotate while lifting
10
and for the blows not go proper (final layer)
Very simple nice explanation, Thanks a lot.
Why was no information given on how much slump is ideal?
Must be a different standard...c143 and your video don't mesh.
You were right. This test was conducted based on Indian standards.
I am a proctor for ACI.... this tutorial is awful.
Thank you sir
Very nice explanation this videos
Too many errors here, not least the description, consistency not workability.
Why frustrum of cone shape is preferred for slump test please explain
to maintain the potential energy of the concrete along the height
U cant Twist the cone while Lifting
Thank you sir..
Clear explanation...
How do you analyze the results after measuring the slump
pick up true slump results as ideal choice.
Why is it undesirable for a shear or collapsable slump test? Its great to know what is preferred but equally important to understand why
I get that but what are the dangers when contractors the slump test fails and contractors use it anyways. I say this because many contractors provide shotty work. In what ways does it effect the integrity of the concrete? Are their any telling signs?
Aside from affecting ease of work (pouring using pumpcrete tend to be difficult if slump is too low), it may result to severe honeycombing on structural members, reducing integrity of the structure.
AWESOME, now I can go take my GC exam!!! :)
I started hallow bricks unit so i want this mixture
Hello Pampapathi, could you please elaborate your query?

what is the range of slump height for a concrete to have a good workability?
50 TO 75 MM
We just rejected ultratech concrete using the same test
Not four layers, three layers and the cone should not be rotated
Slump test should be in four layers
ASTM C143
requires 3 layers
Zeeshan Khan how much be should minimum and minimum slump??
Pooja Patel Should in be three layers
How much mm should be
Sir, what are the slump values for different work like road , slab , columns etc.???
5 inch
In Australia for normal concrete we mix 20mpa 20mm aggregate 80 mm slump when it is being tested . A wetting agent can be added after the test to make the concrete easier to work .
Nice

why the slump cone is conical ?
Hi Siva,
Slump is a test to understand the Workability of Concrete. A cylinder may not just slump, it might also fall apart due to a lack of cohesion. The angle ( called the angle of repose) is the steepest at which the sand grains don't slide down the hill. This limiting point is the same all the way down the pile and that's the angle of the cone & that's the reason slump cones are conical.

Team UltraTech
Amazing, clean explanation .
Thanks sir
I am getting zero slump . what should I do? please help
slump plate is not enough... :P
ok.. what causes shear and collapsible slump and is it best for lantern or beams..because concrete needs for such work should be collapsible so that it may fill up all air bubbles in concrete

Hello,
We would like to inform you that shear or collapse slumps in concrete are due to the majorly wrong proportioning of aggregates, higher water-cement ratio, and maybe the wrong dosage of admixture. Hope this solves your query.
Regards,
Team UltraTech
Very helpful...thanq
How to do it according to astm c143 standard
Tnx brooo
it is a good work guys pls do the exact procedure for consistency, initial and final setting time of cement
Thanks sir
slump should not be rotate while lifting
Ho
Three layers only as the size of the cone is too small
Nice practical i appreciate you sir
the tamp should be freely drop..not force it by hand..
What slump ...??
Thank you ultra tech. This helps me for my lab exam preparation

Process bhi to bataeye kayse kiya jata hai
well explanation sir thank you......
very good voice and pronunciation
Thank you sir
You need to dampen the cone and the base plate before putting any concrete in. You don’t clean the concrete off the top with a trowel. You use the tamping rod in a screeting motion. You don’t twist the cone as you pull up. It must be straight. Also you don’t measure to the highest point of the concrete. You measure to the displaced center of the concrete. Read the ASTM standard please.
Okay boss. If all would have done as you said, what would be the difference of slump in two different method? It is wise to be a practical rather to to find fault with anything...
I agree with you with the dampening, the use of the tamping rod to level off the concrete and the not twisting. In the UK though the standard specifies that you measure to the highest point. Now I want to read the ASTM standard and compare :)
@@nirmalendukargupta201 Doing it with a dry cone and baseplate and twisting it while lifting will give a lower slump value. Unscrupulous site technicians have been known to deliberately do it this way to "cheat" the test and make an otherwise too liquid concrete pass
How to take the water content???
Useful information.. appreciated

what is green concrete bro explain
Which code dictates that the slump cone is filled in 4 layers?
IS 516, IS 1199
Very help full
hi. just wondering. If the cone if filled, should the cone be lifted right away it is filled or should i wait for 1 or 2 minutes? thanks
once you filled the cone you should lift it right away
thank you!
gud
zero slump criteria is missed in this video
Is it 1/4 of the ht or the volume? Thanks for the reply
