This is a great video and it's informative. Really love it. It's great to see something natural for the birds. I am building my aviary atm for my Galah. For the wire (mesh and perch tie), I just use stainless, that way I never have to worry about rust.

We put up a round post in the middle of our 10x21' aviary to help with the sag and attaching perches. Our large aviaries have bends in the spans so the spans don't sag. I also recommend 1/2"x1" mesh for an enclosure this small.

Support posts are great for those reasons :)
Since this aviary houses cockatoos, the 1/2” x 1” wouldn’t house them since it doesn’t come in a gauge strong enough. The 1” x 1” is strong enough to house the birds, and then we use other means to manage/deter any pest/predator species.

@@HiRedBird Looks like you are using the PVC coated as we do. For an aviary your size with several big toos, I would want to use a heavy-duty chain link-style 1" mesh. Given the space as I have, I chose bigger and went lighter on the mesh.
We got the same 16 gauge for both (Home Depot). We use the 1" on our big aviary (26x50') and the 1/2x1 for the small one (10x21'). We don't house them in the aviaries, but they have access whenever they want.

I'm curious what you use for your peafowl? I have a chain link run for my young peafowl so they don't take off. I want to add some perches and enrichment for them. Do you have a video on something like that or ideas for that??

Most of the PVC projects I’ve done are on this playlist, so hopefully this includes what you’re looking for. If not, let me know and I can always plan another tutorial :)
