Hey, yes, it's possible to control EMU using Ableton Live. You can either use the VST3 plugin (you're prompted to install it whilst first installing EMU) or simply by sending MIDI into EMU. You can configure this in the same Settings window us used in this video to select output settings.
Hi, I need to open pro-manager on MacBook. After having connected the ENTTEC device, should the control page be automatically opens or do I have to do something to open it? Thank you
Thanks for sharing. I do have a question about expansion. I'm reaching the end of my universe. Can I just purchase another one (DMX USB PRO) and use a different USB Port or connect them both to a docking station to run a 2nd universe? Or am I stuck having to upgrade to a 2+ universe product?
Depending on the software you are using, you might be able to use a second interface to output another universe if the software allows for it. You may need to check the user manual or support resources for the software you are using. Usually when multiple universes are required, the way this is done is by transmitting via an DMX over Ethernet protocol such as Art-net or sACN. In this way you can use a multi-port node or several smaller nodes to output 2 or more universes
can the DMX signal coming into the device be used to control resolume triggers? Resolume supports mapping dmx signals/ranges to interact with controls, but I am not sure if Resolume will see the incoming DMX signal from this device or if some other chain is required?
Hi, Resolume can take DMX input but their documentation says they require Art-net input - resolume.com/support/en/dmx-shortcuts So you may need something like our ODE Mk3 to convert DMX to Art-net to send into Resolume You can find more information about the ODE Mk3 here: www.enttec.com/product/dmx-distribution/ode-mk3-dmx-ethernet-converter/
Hello, nice video! Im a noob to this world and I would like some help here please… How could I set up my two lasers to be controlled by a DMX controller? I’m using FB3QS controller and enttec dmx usb pro as interface. Besides quickshow software. Would I need to send the dmx controller to the DMX input of the enttec, then enttec’s interface’s usb b port to the computer, after that configure my quickshow settings for DMX signal and connect my computer to the fb3qs and the latter to the laser? And daisy chain the lasers using an ethernet cable? I’m sorry if it’s hard to understand. I simply can’t find good information sources to learn this.
Hi, We haven't spent to much time playing with Lasers ourselves but after having a look on the pangolin website it looks like you are on the right track. We found this connection guide document that might be helpful for you cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/2680/6950/files/connection-diagrams.pdf?18061
Hi there, please drop a message to our support team and attach a couple of screengrabs enttec.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portals potentially this could be due to MacOS permissions.
Hey sorry I think you've already be ask this but just want to double check This interface can take DMX in but can I send it to a visualiser on my laptop? I'm trying to program lights without setting up my lights everytime. Would this chain work? Ableton > DMXIS > DMX USB Pro > back to laptop > MagicVis Any advice would be massively appreciated :)
Hey Chrisy, instead of using a DMX USB Pro for this, we'd recommend sending ArtNet and carry this out using your network. (Chamsys only supports output on the DMX USB Pro). You would likely need to install a virtual loopback adapter to route ArtNet data from your lighting control software to your visualiser or send ArtNet data to the IP address 127.0.0.1. - If using EMU you'd be able to route your lighting control data to your visualiser using the virtual loopback adaptor at the same time as sending ArtNet into MagicVis.
hi ! Is this possible to use DMX usb pro as a merger, for exemple we have 2 computer, One on magic Q on PC (chamsys) and the other on das light (with the interface) Can i send the out of daslite in the usb DMX pro and send the receive signal to the out ? thank's :)
Hey there, to reduce latency as much as possible the DMX USB Pro is only designed to connect to one piece of software at a time I'm afraid. - Potentially you could use ArtNet from DasLight to merge into the ArtNet input of Chamsys, - You could then output DMX from the USB Pro through Chamsys.
Hi Jonathen, could I ask you to check the applications folder to see if a shortcut has been created? To do this go the top-level Finder menu, then along to the 'Go' dropdown. Scroll down and click on 'Applications'. This should open a folder containing the files and shortcuts of every app you've ever downloaded, own or use use by default. If it's still not showing up can you drop a message to your support team using the form on our website (www.enttec.com) and I'm sure we'll be able to help you out.
The app shows up in applications, but it doesn't work. The local host address opens up in a browser, "This site can’t be reached. localhost refused to connect."

Thanks for reaching out, GrandMa doesn't support the DMX USB Pro directly, however, it is possible to use the Art-Net output from GrandMA to be received by QLC+ and send to the DMX USB Pro running on the same computer. - For a full list of compatible software see the link below: support.enttec.com/support/solutions/articles/101000394255-compatible-usb-software
Hey Stephanie, thanks for reaching out. For now we're just keeping EMU just Windows and MacOS. You'll still be able to use your Pro with Linux software, (such as QLC+ ect) but will need to use one of these OS's to update firmware.
Hi there, thanks for reaching out. The first thing we recommend is downloading EMU (www.enttec.com/sku/70680). Once installed this should allow you to discover your Pro (the installation process will install the latest drivers for you). - If still stuck, please head over to support.enttec.com/ to get assistance from a member of our support team who'll be able to assist with troubleshooting and get you back up and running.

Can I use this device with the Denon SC Live 4? Specifically, using Engine OS?
Hi there! It doesn't appear that the Denon SC Live 4 has support for the DMX USB Pro.

Hi Mike, If you're using ENTTEC EMU then it relies upon a VST3 plugin. This is included as part of the installer. Hope this helps!
