You have really blessed grandmothers and retired persons and others with your tutorials. I have enjoyed making several of your baby items. Crochet is something I love to do. I kick back in my recliner and enjoy crocheting. Thank you.
I have searched and stitched and searched and stitched - looking for a decent basic baby bootie pattern and FINALLY stumbled across this little gem of a tutorial. Not only is this the absolute PERFECT pattern, but your instructions were super clear and easy to follow. Thank you so much for sharing!
I absolutely ADORE these booties!! Unlike many others I have found on the WWW which seem to look more like cigar boxes for the footies and smoke stacks for the legs, these little booties have style and SHAPE! These are truly the PRADAs of baby booties! The edging is lovely and adds a crowning touch. Whether for girly feet or boys, these work perfectly. They can easy be “kicked up a notch” by the yarn, colour and tie choices. What makes this pattern so exciting is that it truly is EASY! I am self-teaching to create baby items for our local hospitals and families in need. These booties are so beautiful that no one would ever suspect they were “charity.” The video is .... if possible... even higher in my esteem than the pattern. You speak clearly, concisely and you don’t race through the instructions with the camera either out of focus or across the room. I can see everything and crochet along with you. What a relief from many, many other websites which have driven me to frustration. Oh, and THANK YOU for being sensible about your fingernails! There is nothing more distracting than sparkling, neon-emblazoned claws flashing on the screen like a psychedelic blender when I am trying to concentrate on the yarn work. Someone should tell the instructors that go to the nail spa before doing a tutorial video that there are websites for blingy nails and the more bedazzled the nails, the less effective the lesson. Oh, I did not mean to harangue on about tacky nails, but it is annoying! Because I am such a happy stitcher, I have reviewed your other videos and have not only subscribed, but purchased yarn for your adorable baby hat with ear muffs, the sweater and pants! I never would have risked going outside my comfort zone if your tutorials were not so friendly, reassuring and simple to follow. It could only be better if you could come for tea and a good chat while we crochet away the hours. But chances are you do not live near me in the Highlands of Scotland. (Do you?) Thank you and please keep adding new challenges for me and our little newcomers in need. Sincerely, Judy 😃
You are so very welcome Judy. I’m so glad you like my channel and very much appreciate your support. Unfortunately I don’t live near you I’m in the US but how I’d love to visit Ireland someday and if I do I’ll be sure to stop by for tea and lots of crocheting with you 😉🤗
You just gave me the perfect idea!! Where I live, there are a lot of families who would love it if their newborn and baby boys and girls could wear cute stuff. And yes, thanks to Crochet for Baby, I was able to make my first baby sunhat for my own little girl. I am planning on making a whole bunch of these outfits and giving them away to those in need. The reason I wanna do this, is because other people who also crochet, sell at a price. And even when people can't afford it, they are willing to buy, just because they want something special for their special kids.
Yes! Wonderful for any level crocheting... Clear and concise directions, and I appreciate that you don't move suuuuuppperrrr slow the pace was perfect for me to follow right along
I love that you take your time and explain because i get distracted very easily thank you .... dont know how but I keep ending up with not enough or to many stitches I don't know were I'm messing up. I'll keep trying till I get it right ..
I live these are so pretty. Going to try to make them. I am not so good but I have two granddaughters on the way and I love your work inglés and spanish
Love the booties. Im in between beginner and intermediate so I have to pause ALOT but eventually I het back on track. I love your tutorials. Thanx for sharing.
Hi! I just finished a pair of your booties for my soon to be born grandson and I am very happy with the result. I used Caron Simply soft #4 and a number 4 steel hook and that worked out well. Your tutorial is well presented and easy to follow. Thank you!
Thank you so very much. I made my very first booties tonight. You explained it very well. Now off to you video list to make a matching bonnet and sweater, lol.
Hi..I've never been able to complete a pair of booties because I get confused around the toe and heel area, but your video was so good, I think I'm going to give it a try! Very clear instructions and the booties are so cute.
hi i love your patterns and vids i have done so much since starting to crochet, first found other vid s to learn all the basic stitches and how to add stitches and decrease...these vids were done very slowly ,then after about 4 months found you :) all of them i can do and all my stuff has came out brillently thank you for taking the time .to do these ..i have never had any trouble with any of them .... i constantly am pauseing them ,lol and putting subtitles on to write the patterns down ...pls carry on will need new stuff to make soon ;) from the uk xxx
It took me a bit, but I finally got it...booties are too cute! Though I can't get the ribbon through...I think my needle may be too big, so I'll try again...ribbon isn't necessary as booties are still cute without it.🤗
I hv he same nbr of stitches as u hv but mine don't look like yrs - wud u be able to tell me what is wrong if I send u some photos - this is my first pair of booties & am not too confident & the yarn I am using is Baby Softee which is supposed to be good but the ball I am using seem to be splitting a lot - help!
Glad you like my tutorials. Thanks for watching. I don’t have a pattern for preemie but if you use a 2mm hook with little #3 baby yarn it will come out really small. You can also use cotton thread #10 with a 1.5mm hook if you really need it supper tiny. I have a couple of subscribers who do charity crochet for NICU’s and that’s what they do. Good luck 👍
I have watched a few of your booties videos and it seems you have the wrong side facing out unless I am missing when you say to turn it right side out? I have made some of your baby sweaters and I noticed you sometimes do that on cuffs and front of your sweaters. I enjoy your tutorials and can always count on a good outcome with your directions.
Hi Patrice! Not sure if you’re still interested but I have the written pattern now available In my Etsy shop crochetforbabystore here’s the link etsy.me/2QM1Ybi
Thank you for the video. I have a question. Im new to crochet. When your starting your second row. When you go the second chain. Do you go into the loop the V or under the Bump. Thank you
Hi Kara. Not sure if you’re still interested but the written pattern is now available in my Etsy shop crochetforbabystore here’s the link etsy.me/2QM1Ybi
Hi, they are really pretty but I started twice and I think there is a mistake with the counting. I hope that finally they will look great, thank you for the tutorial!
Make sure you’re not adding a stitch at the beginning and end. You always work your first stitch into the same space where you join with slip stitch. At the end of the row make sure to count your stitches before joining. Good luck.
I really enjoy watching your a channel. You work at a good pace and your instructions are very clear. Your projects are gorgeous. Several months ago I had seen a baby bootie pattern by you. The booty had a cuff on it and it looked very easy. It was crocheted in the shape of a "T" and then sewn up. I can no longer find the pattern. What was its title and is it still available on RUclips?
I’m so glad you you like my channel. Thanks for your support. I only have 3 tutorials for baby booties. Is this the one ruclips.net/video/2ygvp0JTy8k/видео.html
Hi, I was wondering if there is a written pattern that I can get i crochet really big. (Dont know why) so I have to redo a lot ?? Thank you for Al. Your wonderful work
I believe you can. If you’re on your phone or iPad click on the 3 little dots on the top right hand corner of the video box to add self generated captions. If you’re on computer or laptop click on the settings wheel on lower right side. I hope this helps.

I copied down what she was saying for the second bootie. It was easier that way.
Ruby07241 can you please send me a copy of the written directions???
Written pattern now available in my Etsy shop crochetforbabystore here’s the link etsy.me/2QM1Ybi
Very good
Thanks 😊
It would be very helpful. If you start from the beginning. Show how to start the loop on the hook and work the chain. Thank you
so cute I love Your video!!
Thank you 😊 ❤️
My sole came out to 4.5 inches. I should have switched hook size at that point because now I have rather large bootie.
Wow 😮 that is a big size difference. If you tend to crochet loose that can happen so yes, change hook size. Good luck 👍🍀
I don't think I crochet that loose. I use softee baby bernat 3 ply yarn. If no one else has the problem I guess I crochet looser than I think.
Yeah that’s weird. I used the same on my tutorial and came out the size mentioned and no one else has mentioned it either. Sorry 😐
I did it!
Yay 😀 👍👍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Gorgeous! Thanks so much for sharing!
You’re welcome 😉
Tel me plz if i wnt 1yr old baby booties than how many chains i wnts to take
How do I make this a little larger
Look in the information box. The information box opens when you click the title of the video.
How much yarn did you use?
Love your tutorials. But when you're starting new row or stitch. I couldn't see how to fully do a single crochet
Was wondering if there a written pattern for these booties? Let me know cause really would love to give them a try. Thanks for sharing your video.
I’m sorry I don’t. Currently working on my webpage so that I can add written patterns for all my tutorials. Thanks for watching.

Hi, how many ch sets did you begin with?
❤❤❤
Love these booties and am looking forward to making them.. one question, are they meant to be worked inside out? It looks like the pretty side of the stitches are all on the inside throughout the entire bootie.. except for the ruffle part on top that the ribbon goes through.. i wonder if i can make them with the right side facing out.. thanks..
Thanks 🙏🏻 glad you like it. And yes I did it this way from inside out to make it easier. But give it a try and see if it works the other way. Good luck.
I have started these three times, easy instructions, but I end up with a toddler size bootie and have no idea what's going on. 😢
I’m sorry 😐 try a smaller hook size. Perhaps that will help and make sure you’re using baby yarn.
Hi dear , I enjoyed this video and the nice booties very much ,but I need to know if i am using thin yarn and 2.5 mm hook how many stitches should I do for this size.thanks alot
How do I make these booties larger?
Look in the information box. The information box opens when you click the title of the video.
What did you put inside of the bootie to make it stand up? I usually use tissue but I noticed that you have some sort of clear model. Thank you :-)
I got them from amazon. Here’s a link www.amazon.com/Plastic-Display-Toddler-Booties-display/dp/B01LZKP4A8
Crochet For Baby, thank you very much 😊
Are you using the 10cm or the 8cm?
I have both but I think for this bootie I used 10cm
I'm giving this to my sisters baby she will be born on 23 or 24 july
Start at the beginning
Restart the video to see the beginning 😉
What is the final height for each bootie?
great vid thankyou :)
