Best comment 😎 I charge my phone anytime I feel like it with my wireless and fast chargers. Battery health on paper is at 81% but my phone lasts all day. If my battery starts really degrading I just get a new battery.
I fuckin changed my battery at 80 percent after 2 years exact ! And yeaaahhhh boi I got 100 percent battery Healh now One thing more ! No matter how much you prevent your battery health to deplete, it will deplete no matter what Even apple says for 2 years your battery health will reach to 80 so don’t ponder so much on this issue just get your battery replaced and use it tension free Also I would suggest all those iPhone users using wireless charger and fast charging stop it 🛑 just use slow charging , which actually works to preserve your battery 🔋
@@ChristopherBong I think heat is a big thing. That’s one of the reasons I never got a wireless charger. I mostly use a 12w iPad one. Only when I’m in a rush I use the 20w Anker Nano. And I charge whenever I can. The battery never goes below 20%. This is a good video to follow.
Good for battery health between 80-90% and best for sometimes 100% for road trip far away I think that’s alright. Do not too often 100%. I personally use 80 and sometimes 95% balance.
Also, putting your phone on a MagSafe charger will not cause the phone to heat up too much. There are temperature regulators built in the hardware and software of both the charger and the phone. If the phone begins to heat up too much, the phone will slow down the current of the charge, allowing the temperature to decrease. Usually, if you just let your phone charge, and you don’t use it while charging, the temperature is fine. And you don’t need to micro-manage your charging habits. All of this has been taken into account by the battery and software engineers. These aren’t the same batteries you used 10 years ago.
It is still much hotter than conventional cable charging method due to energy loss of having extra coil. Yes, there is regulators built in that slows down charging, but it won't change the fact that it degrades battery faster than the conventional method. At least it's better than playing iphone games while charging. Similarly, if you use magsafe car mount with charging make sure to get one with cooling as you will be running apple carplay or navigational apps. These makes your phone super hot.
But my battery has been 90% for so long, when i started using the MegSafe it dropped to 89% :/… im not sure why honestly, any idea on how to properly use the megsafe?
Got my first iPhone in April. Have watched tons of videos about battery health. It all came to hot temperatures/overheating. I been putting mine on a cooling fan while it fast charges/updates. Works for me
Totally agree. We all banded together to get my mum an iPhone 13 Pro for Christmas. I've told her to charge it with the 5W charger that came with her iPhone 7. We've also enabled that optimised battery charging feature which should work well for her as she almost always charges her phone at the same time every day. I'm not a fan of wireless charging at all. I have a wireless charger in my car and only use it if absolutely necessary. Every phone I've tried charging on it (Galaxy S8, iPhone 11 and my now current Galaxy S21) all get pretty hot.
wireless isnt proven to have smarter way of charging. i had my old phone broke its battery cause i kept forgetting that i put it in wireless charger. it stays there maybe 4 to 5 hours max after reaching 100%. it wasnt smart to stop or trickle charge
Believe it or not, my grandpa had owned an iPhone SE since November of last year. And somehow he’s managed to keep his battery capacity up at 100 for a whole entire year. And I believe he still has it up at 100 because he doesn’t have a whole lot of apps or games, and only uses his phone for calling, texting, RUclips, and a little bit of games. This may help out a lot if you don’t use your phone as often as others. Hope this helped 😊
I think it’s so important to tell people not to leave their phone battery sink right down to 0% before charging. Used to do this allll the time and honestly I didn’t know we weren’t supposed to go that anymore! Now I charge it whenever
@@veneracioniverson3564 Yes, it slows down by a lot after it gets to 80%, and finished 1-2 hours before you wake up. My phone is usually cold to the touch means it isn’t really damaging the battery
These are very good tips. I have to admit that my battery health in iPhone SE (1 generation) is 85% after 6 YEARS, so it is manageable to maintain such a good condition of your phone.
Read about this as well. Generally speaking, lithium ion batteries have finite charge cycles. More you fully cycle, the shorter the lifespan of the battery. Constant top up rather than full cycling is optimal. Nothing I own gets below 30% at least before hitting a charge pad or plug.
I have the shortcut set up like that when the iPhone goes down to 20 it will say it or then if im charging it and it reaches 80 it will also notifies me its a great tool try it
I use a Wi-Fi plug for my charger and have it set to only charge my phone for a certain amount of time while I’m sleeping so it doesn’t stay charging all night. Been using it for a year now and my battery health is still at 100%
My iPhone XR is 3 y/o this month and battery life is still at 83%, I charge it every night so it goes daily up to 100% but I never let it go down to 0%. Also a remarkable thing to mention is that I play every day (several times a day and for long periods of time) Genshin Impact on it, at a pretty high res and it never lags/overheats while doing so (which is pretty rare seeing what other GI phone players say). It's BY FAR the best and most durable phone I've ever had and I'm extremely satisfied with its battery life even if I don't specially take care of it!
Lithium charging circuits, without exception, 'test' the battery at intervals to see if it is charged. This 'test' is essentially a momentary short-circuit of the battery while monitoring the battery voltage. While a reliable test, this stresses the battery quite a lot, can lead to heating. The more hours your phone spends on the charger, the more damage you are doing to the battery! Charge to 90%, take it off the charger...but never let them discharge below 20%!
After doing deep research on rechargeable Battery's I have learned they all need to be recycled properly. This is correct. Do not let it drop to zero & as long as you use it daily, when you get the low Battery power indication, charge it to 100%. This way you are assured to get the Max capacity rating of the Battery & a longer life span.
The issue is the quality of battery since day one even at 100%. Just charge, in middle East it is more than 40C, drop to near red alarm, charge it back to full. No issue at all as battery only last at most 3 to 4 years. If not changing phone, just get the battery replaced. All this tips do not prolong battery life as it is design to fail so you upgrade. Just use your phone and replace the battery when time comes.
I’ve so far never kept the same iPhone long enough to need a battery replacement.I normally upgrade every year but that could change next year.I feel that the 13 Pro Max is worth keeping at least 2 years, maybe 3.
My iPhone 11 is at 90% and I’ve had it since launch day, almost 2.5 years. No special treatment with regard to charging etc. Just charge your phone when it needs it.
Apple ruined the way people use their device when they added all the battery health features to their phones. It's really not that big of a deal to replace the battery on your phone. Use the device how you want, replace the battery when needed.
Wouldnt be an issue if you their phones werent priced like a mortgage. Cause the tendency is that because of the exorbitant price people would be included to take care of it to an extreme, at the expense of actually enjoying the point, worrying about stuff like this
I only charge my 11 Pro Max with the 5W Charger (wired) every night with optimised charging enabled. My iPhone still has 95% Battery Health after more than two years. I never let it drop below 10% charge.
Great video. Despite how expensive Apple products are the batteries for iPhones are between $50-$70 to have replaced by Apple & if your under AppleCare it’s free. I don’t know why the hell people stress over this. People utterly obsess over battery health, it’s crazy. I can understand if battery replacements costs several hundred dollars or something like that. There’s nothing wrong with checking on it occasionally and learning a few simple charging tips. Don’t leave it in extreme temperatures, don’t drain it to 0% if you can help it & use official chargers. It’s not that complicated. Twisting yourself into knots over a piece of technology that’s going to wear out eventually is not worth the headache. You’ll never get to enjoy technology if you’re spending most of your day babying how you charge your battery.
It's simple: we should be minimizing the amount of waste we produce. Most old iPhone batteries just get tossed, since they are too small to be worth saving. Even if everyone put in the effort to extend their smartphone or smartwatch's battery life for just 1 extra year, it would make a noticeable impact on the amount of batteries ending up in landfills.
I do think it's worth it tbh. It's better to maintain your phone and saves money in the long run or if I end up passing it down to a sibling or sum its not completely trashed. My 14 pro is still at 100 percent battery health.
I generally use optimized charging, and charge overnight with the fast charger. Started this with my 12 Pro, purchased 11/20. Battery was great for the first 6 months. Then, battery health started dropping. Battery never got discharged below 40%. After 11 months, I was down to 90% capacity, then..it started dropping 1% every 8-12 days! Da fuq? This after updating to IOS14xxx. Something was wrong. Decided to take advantage of AT&T generous trade in, and got me a 13Pro Max. Had it 6 weeks now - battery is way stronger, and capacity is still 100%.
I have exclusively charged my iPhone 12 with a mag “safe” charger since I got it. I notice that it is quite warm when I take it off. My battery health is at 84% after 13 months. Very dissatisfied and disappointed with mag “safe”. My wife has the same phone and over the same time has port charged hers and is at 90%
@@ld3534 12 series in general never really had amazing battery life. 3600mah in the 12 Pro Max is pretty small. They relied too much on the chipset’s efficiency.
@@ji9starrz I agree however people were already in the low 90s in battery health before a year was up. That’s a problem I’ve only seen with the 12 series.
I have a 13 Pro, I use the Apple 5W power brick with an Anker Mi-Fi certified cord to charge the phone at night with optimized battery charging on. That is the best way I feel.
@@fxmahatmamahardika4617 I go to bed around 11 and wake up at 7 and its at 100%, however optimized battery charging will leave the phone at 80% until about 5AM then charge to 100% the last 2 hours slowly to preserve the battery

I bought my iPhone 13 Pro after about 2-3 weeks that it came out ( mid october ). Today is April 26 and it is at 100% of battery health. I constantly keep my iPhone cool by taking the back cover off time to time ( expecially when charging, always take off the cover when you are charging the phone ) fanning at it with my lungs and by fanning some air with the back cover so that the phone temperature is lower than the temperature of my lips. Most of the times i keep the battery between 40 and 75% ( sometimes it goes to 34-35% and sometimes it happens that i charge it to 80%, but hardly ever higher than that ). I use the low power mode very often, expecially when gaming ( i play Cod Mobile very much ), with the low power mode this phone never heats up but because the A15 chipset is very powerful, you will not get performance drops if you are in low power mode ( except not having 120hz refresh rate on the screen ) and just when i normally use it sometimes i turn on the low power mode to save some battery and to prevent the heating ( with fanning on it time to time ). Just try to keep the temperature of the phone cool at all the times ( although it happened to me sometimes that it got hot ) and your phone will be fine. Don’t leave it under direct sunlight or inside the hot car. Try to turn on the low power mode when you are using something that can cause the heating of the phone ( i notice that when i watch the Instagram reels and i am not in low power mode it heats up pretty much ). Just be constantly aware of the temperature, love your phone and don’t let it get warm and you will be great. I know that some people don’t want to lose their time to do this but if your goal is to keep your phone as perfect as possible you have to put some effort. May God bless all of you in Jesus’ powerful name🙏🏻
Almost the same for me, but I have a regular Iphone 11 and the max battery health is 88%. I wonder what has caused that 2% difference... Doesnt really matter just would be interesting to know :)
Absolutely that is correct, i have also my experience with wireless charging , it causes high battery temperature which may damage battery life. I used it with my iPhone x , then with the XsMax , and i used wireless charger which is recommended by Apple (Belkin) .then I decided not to use wireless charging with my iPhone 12pro . The best is to use slow charging to avoid raising the temperature.
i don’t think cuz i’ve been using my 12 pro max for a year using fast charging . still my battery health is 88% and i charged it through the cable. i didn’t use the wireless charger.
@@gamerfox7047 so you agreed that wireless charging causes raising of battery temperature, but for the iPhone 12 and 13 we can charge with 20w charger that is recommended by Apple.
@@hasanal-haidari3531 i agree cuz i used the wireless charger for a week and found that it courses heating my phone while charging. so i used my normal cable with fast charging plug.
@@gamerfox7047 Thats exactly what happened with my mobile but the battery health went down 2% in one week. So the best is what you do now, fast changing with original cable and charger .
I purchased an iPhone 11 in November 2020 and in January 2022 I still have 100% battery health. I have around 4-5 hours screen on time, never let my battery go below 20% and charge my phone every night to 100% using a 20w fast charger no matter the battery percentage
Ehhh, I’d argue if you’re using a slow/standard charger (5w), that’s better to charge while using. Why? Well, let’s say your battery is at 50% and you’ll be charging it for 1 hour, and it normally takes that amount of time to charge to 80. But while you’re using it, it would take 2 hours maybe. So, you’ve made that 30% last longer, using less cycle life. Something I’ve noticed is when I’m on a video call with friends, and I have my phone on a 5w wireless charging stand, the battery seems to barely go up or down, it stayed at about 75% the whole time we talked (which was a couple hours). So it’s better to let the battery go down then go up? Not really, because that’s using more cycle life, as I said
@@halami2149 I get the logic you follow but Cycle is when you charge up to 100 and then drain down to 0. So if you follow the suggestion to charge up to ~80 and drain down to ~20, cycles shouldn’t bother it. Another thing, you don’t want the battery or the phone to heat up. That decreases the battery life span in general. But that’s what happens when you use it while it’s charging, it heats up abnormally.
@@sleepless51 My phone doesn’t get hot when I’m using my 5W charger, it might if I was playing games. But charge cycles are still being counted when doing normal charges. Going from 100 down to 50 and then doing that again is a full cycle, since it’s 50% being used twice, equaling 100%. That’s what I mean by cycles. Going from 0-100 is a full cycle, but it’s not the only thing that counts towards the overall cycle count
If we can not charge iPhone to 100%, it should not let charge to the 100% level. Either it should give a kind of "warning" sound before reaching 100% or it should have a mechanism not to charge to 100% by itself even though the charging connection is connected.
I’ve had my iPhone 13 for 17 months and it’s still at 100% battery capacity. I keep my phone at 100% capacity after two years by keeping my battery percentage between 50%-89%. I never charge past 89%.

Seems like fast charging and wireless/MagSafe has been the major battery killers on my iPhone 12, creating a lot of heat. Dropped 1.5%/month in battery health - down to 91% in about six months. When I stopped that and went back to an Apple 5W USB charger and cable the battery health has been pretty stable. Right now at 89%. I don’t get the point of using a fast charger when you charge overnight.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max purchased on feb 2021, it went down to 99% battery condition like 3 days ago. All I do is to avoid it from going below 45% (only if possible, I’ve drained my battery like twice just because I got home late and didn’t have a charger). I use fast charge, I found out that charging it from 45% doesn’t heat the device as much as charging from a lower level.
Also change your battery when it's around 35-45% and unplug when it's at 75% When you keep it in between those numbers the battery can last a lot longer than average. I never change to 100% or drop it to less than 35% It also helps that the iphone 13 has excellent battery life overall.
Nope not true You can Charge to 100% but don't drop under 30% that helps battery and Yeah Battery life mostly damages after 2 yrs Then you can replace battery if it's under 80% health most Suggested Battery change is when it's health drop to 70%
Great info. Prior to this video, I thought upgrading to a new iPhone every year, like Apple wants you to, was the only sure way of preserving battery life.
I have a phone that says when unplugging after a charge to disconnect the lead from the phone port first then the wall outlet. Any truth to the matter ?

I usually charge my phone to 80-85% and let it go down to 20-30% The 60& of the battery I daily use get's me though the day just fine, making my battery suffer less. Even if I change phones yearly, I still take care of the battery, as we are all needed to watch for our planet.
Good recommendations in general, but I'd add: 1) Sometimes our phones do get hot. Whatever you do, don't charge it when it's hot. That just makes it a lot hotter. Wait till you can find a cooler environment, or a time when you're not stressing the phone with a game, etc., before charging. 2) Regarding not letting your battery drop to 0%, this is true, but as I understand it, when your phone says it is at a 0% charge, that is not precisely true. There is a few percent buffer built in so your battery never actually hits 0% before it initiates the shutdown procedure. So I don't worry much about going to "zero". Still, if your phone drops to under 20% or so, and you know you'll need to use it, put it into low-power mode. It'll stretch out the remaining charge a lot. 3) Not storing a phone at 100%: absolutely true. I've even taken to only charging my phone up to 80% or so before turning the charger off unless I know I'll be needing a higher charge soon for a long, GPS-traced hike, for example..
@@GA-wq8xq I agree. Apple has finally made MacOS charge only to 80% if your usage history shows you don't discharge the battery deeply*. I wish they would do the same for iOS. Then, when you know you'll be needing a deeper charge, you just tell it to charge fully. That is how it works on the Mac. * It's not actually working very well. Only occasionally does my Mac suspend charging at 80%. It is still a new feature. Edit: iPhones already do have "optimized charging". This does charge your phone up to just 80% or so when you connect to a charger and go to bed. Then it waits till just before you normally wake up to top off the charge. Better than nothing, but a firmer limit would be even better.
I have the Purple 12, I had it since the release date. Battery life is still @ 100% I use to use wireless charging but it made my phone over heat so now I’m back to the apple charger/cord. Gonna upgrade for the 14. When I go out I also use low power mode to save my battery.

My XS dropped to 90% within 6 months even if I never used a wireless charger. Ended up keeping battery between 50-80% most of the time and low power mode has always been on. My XS is now 3.5 years old and battery capacity is 78%. Did recently buy the 13pro though, wondering if I should even use the 20w charger on the phone because like my XS, I intend on keeping the phone for 3-4 years.
It's best to leave your phone at 50% all the time, but that's literally impossible.. So it's recommended to keep it between 40% and 60%. I always charge mine to about 65% - That gives me enough juice to finish the day on about 40-42%. I never use fast charging or charging overnight. I charge my 13 Pro Max with a 5W charger and if absolutely needed, I use a 10W charger. (Which feels fast when I'm used to 5W lol) If I use 10W or above, then I place my phone cooler on it so it cools down the battery. Ok, now when I read it myself, I finally realize that I need a real hobby... ;-;
This isn't so much about battery health but how fast the battery loses charge - use Wi-Fi whenever possible. Wi-Fi uses MUCH less battery power than cellular signal.
iPhone 13 Pro Max 92% battery health 530 cycles. For the most part, you are correct but you don’t go far enough. Do not charge wirelessly do not use fast charging unless you are topping up during the day. Use the old Apple 5 W charger to charge your phone to 100% overnight. There is no need to limit the charge amount since the actual size of the battery is around 10% larger and the buffer is built in. When you charge your phone to 100 you’re actually only charging it to 90% of the actual battery size.
Everybody gives difference battery advice and even specific to the iPhone. You didn't go into too many things and I'm pretty sure that draining the battery all the way and storing it at 100% and certainly heat are not good. For other specifics, Apple says charge it whenever you want and their management system handles it. Other people give you all this stuff like keeping it between 80% and 75% and other stick your left foot in your right ear while the other is in your mouth types of things. Everybody claims to know the most about it.
I’ve discovered that it also has a lot to do with how you use your phone and consistent drain, like apps in the background. As much as I love iPhone, I like iPad for most of what people are using their phone for.
How to not damage your phone battery: 1: Don't charge your battery 2: Don't discharge your battery 3:Don't battery the battery's battery 4: Don't And because AppleInsider didn't explicitly say anything about not stabbing the battery with a pen or other sharp object, I think it's a safe assumption that's not only perfectly safe for said battery (and user) , but in fact the only proper means of using one. I shall now blindly follow this assumption on all of my devices moving forward.
I don’t know anybody who actually grabs their iPhone box and place it back in there and tuck it away every night this is hilarious I really wanna know who does this it would be like watching a dog walk on its hind legs
I honestly didn't know that myself to be honest, I was debating on if I should allow my battery to get to 0% prior to charging since I just upgraded. Thank you for the information I shall make sure I charge it periodically to avoid a total deplete.

@@zaimaziz6412 there's a lot myth about of charging. Someone says that don't charge it overnight or more often. Someone says that charge it below 50% or more. But i really don't care. I'm just going in the flow
I have a Macbook Pro that for some mystifying reason my room mate decided to take with him in the middle of a heatwave and apparently left my computer in his vehicle for a few days. Ever since then the battery started bulging. He's claiming I did it to the computer because I have it plugged in. I'm thinking, no, I didn't seem to have any problems with it, till somebody took it out of my room and left it in a hot vehicle in the middle of summer.... IS THIS POSSIBLE THAT BEING LEFT IN A HOT CAR COULD HAVE MESSED UP MY BATTERY IN MY COMPUTER?
If the battery will be used as 0-100% - it'll be slowly dying. If you'll use it as 20-80% - it'll also be slowly dying. If you won't use it at all, and put it on a shelf - it'll be slowly dying as well. So, don't think about it too much, and just ... use your devices. One thing kills your batteries quicker than others - it's the fast chargers. As the rule of thumb, the *safest* current will be 1/10 _(1/6 max)_ based on your cell's capacity _(close to 1A max for ~5000mAh cells, for example)._ Even the desulfation process _(on the car batteries)_ is done on a lowest possible current for the same reason. =) The slower you charge your batteries - the better their condition will be over time.
I miss my android. I have my first iPhone (12 pro) and the battery depletes too much and I’m constantly charging it because I use it a lot for videos and occasionally movies. I didn’t have this problem with my android and it was easier to use.
same here, what is more stunning is that my battery health has degraded from 98 to 95 in less than 3 days i’m rlly not understanding how and why and my phone i’ve have it for like 2 months now💀
My battery health was 100 % on my iPhone 12 that i bought December 2020 right up to I updated to IOS 15 back in September 2021 now my health as dropped to 84%
Thank you so much for this video!! I’m getting my new phone soon and I don’t want to do anything wrong but I do have a question! At which percentage should I start to charge my phone?? My best friend always says to do it at 20-25%

Great video. You cant believe how much flack I get when I try and tell people taking your phone into the sauna is bad for it. Love your simple easy tips.
I’m amazed that in an age where so much information is readily available at everyone’s fingertips there is so much misinformation about everything. Even things that are based on hard science and not subject to opinion are misrepresented. Part of this is due to changes in technology over time, but also people’s propensity to regurgitate nonsense they’ve heard as fact, but don’t know to be a fact themselves. To some degree this is because on subjects we know little about we have to rely on “The Experts” and the world is full of them apparently… And don’t even get me started on the Medical community, Nutritionists or Climate experts.
How about just telling people to just enjoy their devices? Apple charges like $70 to replace a battery. If in 4-5 years your iPhone battery needs replacing get a new battery.
No. Sorry, but this doesn't do anything. When your phone is idle on the charger those radios are active only when performing background tasks. The battery management system and systems managing wireless signals are smarter than that.
Life’s too short to worry about a phone battery, just replace the battery
Best comment 😎 I charge my phone anytime I feel like it with my wireless and fast chargers. Battery health on paper is at 81% but my phone lasts all day. If my battery starts really degrading I just get a new battery.
I fuckin changed my battery at 80 percent after 2 years exact ! And yeaaahhhh boi I got 100 percent battery Healh now
One thing more ! No matter how much you prevent your battery health to deplete, it will deplete no matter what
Even apple says for 2 years your battery health will reach to 80 so don’t ponder so much on this issue just get your battery replaced and use it tension free
Also I would suggest all those iPhone users using wireless charger and fast charging stop it 🛑 just use slow charging , which actually works to preserve your battery 🔋

Mine was at 65% health. I use my phone for work and play
These aren’t the same batteries you used 10 years ago.
wireless charging causes the most damage to your battery :/
Facts
It is still much hotter than conventional cable charging method due to energy loss of having extra coil.
Yes, there is regulators built in that slows down charging, but it won't change the fact that it degrades battery faster than the conventional method.
At least it's better than playing iphone games while charging.
Similarly, if you use magsafe car mount with charging make sure to get one with cooling as you will be running apple carplay or navigational apps.
These makes your phone super hot.
It will only stop charging after 80 percentage when its hot
But my battery has been 90% for so long, when i started using the MegSafe it dropped to 89% :/… im not sure why honestly, any idea on how to properly use the megsafe?
Got my first iPhone in April. Have watched tons of videos about battery health. It all came to hot temperatures/overheating. I been putting mine on a cooling fan while it fast charges/updates. Works for me
What’s your battery life now 🤔🤔
May I know what is ur battery health now?
I feel wireless charging over heats the phone and damages it. 5 watt charges is slow but best for battery health
Yes
Totally agree. We all banded together to get my mum an iPhone 13 Pro for Christmas. I've told her to charge it with the 5W charger that came with her iPhone 7. We've also enabled that optimised battery charging feature which should work well for her as she almost always charges her phone at the same time every day.
I'm not a fan of wireless charging at all. I have a wireless charger in my car and only use it if absolutely necessary. Every phone I've tried charging on it (Galaxy S8, iPhone 11 and my now current Galaxy S21) all get pretty hot.

Read about this as well. Generally speaking, lithium ion batteries have finite charge cycles. More you fully cycle, the shorter the lifespan of the battery. Constant top up rather than full cycling is optimal.
Nothing I own gets below 30% at least before hitting a charge pad or plug.
So what should Charge from 30 to 80
I use personal audible automations to inform me when my iPhone is nearly charged or desperately needing to be charged. For this I use an 80/20 rule.
Been using it for a year now and my battery health is still at 100%
Wow.. same here!
Same here and with a connected plug it automatically cut the charge at 80%
My iPhone XR is 3 y/o this month and battery life is still at 83%, I charge it every night so it goes daily up to 100% but I never let it go down to 0%.

My xr is at 94% with overnight wireless charging but I have had drop around 10%
I bought an XR a month ago. Got 85% battery health now.
I got a refurbished XRA for my birthday and the battery health is still at 88
Apple says charge whenever/however you want.
Just use your phone and replace the battery when time comes.
sad truth
I’ve so far never kept the same iPhone long enough to need a battery replacement.I normally upgrade every year but that could change next year.I feel that the 13 Pro Max is worth keeping at least 2 years, maybe 3.

My iPhone 11 is at 90% and I’ve had it since launch day, almost 2.5 years. No special treatment with regard to charging etc. Just charge your phone when it needs it.
@Marshall Gutshall wow!! That’s impressive!
Apple ruined the way people use their device when they added all the battery health features to their phones. It's really not that big of a deal to replace the battery on your phone. Use the device how you want, replace the battery when needed.
Everyone isn’t careless like u sir.

You’ve turned owning a phone into a part time job. It’s like 80 bucks to replace it. Apple has programs that automatically extend battery life.

Another tip: Don't use the phone while it's charging.
I agree because the phone will get hotter especially when you play games
If we can not charge iPhone to 100%, it should not let charge to the 100% level. Either it should give a kind of "warning" sound before reaching 100% or it should have a mechanism not to charge to 100% by itself even though the charging connection is connected.

With my 13 pro max I typically only use 15-20% of the battery from 4am to 10pm daily and charge nightly.

Before I go to work I put my phone on charge for about an hour each day. The battery is usually down around 40 to 50% and it rarely gets charged to 100%. The phone is probably over 2 years old and the battery easily lasts the entire day at work.
I’m so reassured because I use to charge it every time the battery is at 70-80-90 so yeah now you don’t have to go to zero to preserve it and I love it !

Well you are doing more damage to your battery by doing that per apple. How does it feel to be an idiot.
@@darth_kal-el elaborate?
Hi do we have to charge the phone for 8 hours when it is used first
Good recommendations in general, but I'd add:
1) Sometimes our phones do get hot.
Apple need to have a setting to allow the phone to recharge overnight to 80%
@@GA-wq8xq I agree.
@@GregConquest thanks, so there is hope!

My iphone 8 plus is 3 yrs old. Most of the time i drain it to zero unintentionally because i forget to charge but the battery health is still 80% for a 3 year old phone so not too bad. I never used any other charger aside from the original cable and adapter from the same box so I think that helped. I’ve heard cheap cables and adapters can make the battery health worse

Then there’s me having a month old iphone 11 with a battery health of 95%
What did you do to keep the battery healthy?
My iPhone 11 hit 79% of battery health after 1 year and 8 months of usage... I use my iPhone as a normal phone and for gaming together with media consumption like social media and netflix. Gaming is one of the main reason why my battery depleted faster than usual. When I am in the middle of the game, sometimes I have to plug my charger that causes to much heat! HEAT IS THE NUMBER ONE ENEMY OF THE BATTERY.
lucky because I have 87 percent capability after a year and a few months and i dont know what to do to make my phone run decently its only been a year and a few months technically and i feel like it got worst because of my charging habits allowing moisture in it including letting it be in high and low weather conditions plus using the low power mode every day i dont know what im doing wrong but i feel like im failing at keeping my phone as healthy as i can and its sad the constant system updates is whats ruining it,,,im doing everything i can to keep the on screen time as normal as possible but i cant go through ten minutes of screeen time without a percent dropping and im so stressed out over it sometimes i think maybe i should have no phone all together then i can wait until a better battery is invented and then ill feel better and not feel stressed out over it but at the same time i want to be on track of time
My wife only use her iPhone SE for emergency. What is incredible is that the battery life is still 99% after 5 years !!! (It's always turn on, we charge it every 3-4 days)
I think if it does get used it’ll degrade much quicker due to battery age. Eventually catches up

Why does my battery die when I take one pic? Then when I plug it in to charge it's still at 45%?
One day I left my phone in my car and the sun moved and was on it for 2 hours and it overheated and dropped my battery health all the way down to 82% health. I’ve had it for 3 weeks…😭
poor thing i know how hard that feels people with the same phone as me commented saying after 2 years the capacity of the battery is at more than 87 percent...
I just got the iPhone 11 last Saturday and my local phone store guy told me to let the battery completely die in it and then charge it is that a bad thing to do or a good thing or should I plug it in now it’s at 19%
My XS dropped to 90% within 6 months even if I never used a wireless charger.

@@mrlebanon6055 it does!
How low should we let the charge drop to before recharging it?

It's best to leave your phone at 50% all the time, but that's literally impossible.. So it's recommended to keep it between 40% and 60%. I always charge mine to about 65% - That gives me enough juice to finish the day on about 40-42%. I never use fast charging or charging overnight. I charge my 13 Pro Max with a 5W charger and if absolutely needed, I use a 10W charger. (Which feels fast when I'm used to 5W lol)
If I use 10W or above, then I place my phone cooler on it so it cools down the battery.
Ok, now when I read it myself, I finally realize that I need a real hobby... ;-;
Keeping it at 80 percent is optimal and never letting battery drop below 20 percent apart from One a month full drain ..

This isn't so much about battery health but how fast the battery loses charge - use Wi-Fi whenever possible. Wi-Fi uses MUCH less battery power than cellular signal.
Great tips! I thought Apple recommended letting your iPhone battery go down to 0%, or at least 10% once a month to keep it calibrated.
They do
They want you to buy a new one. They only care about their sales.
iPhone 13 Pro Max 92% battery health 530 cycles.
How to not damage your phone battery:
1: Don't charge your battery
2: Don't discharge your battery
3:Don't battery the battery's battery
4: Don't
And because AppleInsider didn't explicitly say anything about not stabbing the battery with a pen or other sharp object, I think it's a safe assumption that's not only perfectly safe for said battery (and user) , but in fact the only proper means of using one. I shall now blindly follow this assumption on all of my devices moving forward.
😂

The slower you charge your batteries - the better their condition will be over time.
