I received mine today and installed it in my Limitless, double-checked the gear mesh, and powered on the ESC. After it went through the battery cell count, everything seemed fine. When I applied a little throttle, the motor hummed slightly but didn't move. I gave it a bit more throttle, and suddenly, there was a loud pop, followed by smoke pouring out. The motor completely burned up.
Just pushed 217mph with this motor on a wltoys 1/12 scale buggy. Probably went faster, but then it just flew away & just kept on going! 🤷♂️😂 Ok, Jk!! 😄 I did purchase this motor though, comes in Thursday. Originally it was going into my Limitless but I decided to put it into my stretched Typhon 6S to see what I can get on 4S since I have an XLX2 in it as well. Hopefully I don't burn down the ESC 😬, just got to figure out a good starting point with gearing.
@@345gc8 😂😂😂.... If I could fit it, I would just for 💩 & 🤭!! I'm however in the middle of turning an 1/18 scale LaTrax prerunner into a speedrun car that was given to me. Stock running on the factory NiMH battery this thing does 17mph. Hopefully I can get it in the 70sh mph range lol.
You may be restricted with your KV test as the wires between your motor and the test unit is very slim and may not be giving the motor the amperage it needs, regardless, should be a very quick motor.

Quick question Castle puts that warning warning sticker no motors over 2,000 KV on the xlx2 so this motor will be fine on one? That's why I haven't bought a xlx2 I'm a drag racer and I run 3000 KV and up motors thanks
Castle actually mentioned that this motor has no warranty and if used in conjunction with any castle esc that is "capable" of handling this motor, is also devoid of coverage
The Xlx2 had a firmware update, with the new update the xlx2 can run any Kv motor an D wind motors again. The first Batch of Xlx2 had Problems because of the not perfectly optimized older firmware
@@justinS.215 thank you very much for the information I thought I was going to have to continue to run the XLX those are reliable as long as you keep them cool but obviously there's a big upgrade with the xlx2 but it's useless if I cannot run at 3,000 KV motor thank you for your input I appreciate it man

Yes, but it's easy to do.
Is the mamba xlx2 compatible with that motor because I've been seeing the xlx with 800kv and 1100kv and if you use too much kv the esc will catch fire

I will find out. I know I wouldn't run a 3000kv motor with an xlx2. But I'm not a drag racer either.
