  • This trip was a long time coming and in late 2021 we finally assembled an awesome convoy and took the long trip to Byfields National Park. In this Episode 2/2 we head out from camp at Nine Mile Beach destined for the beautiful Five Rocks Beach. We stop at the spectacular lookout that is Stockyard Point before winding our way through extremely tight inland tracks to Five Rocks and enjoy a BBQ lunch.
    But heading back to camp wasn't going to be easy, as several vehicles in the convoy struggled to conquer the soft sand tracks exiting the beach. Watch as we muster all hands on deck and fight the fading light to recover the stuck vehicles using winches, TRED recovery boards, recovery gear and extension straps.
    We finish the trip off with a relaxed final day and play some sunny beach cricket before making our way back towards Brisbane.

    79 series thong slap compared to the deep rumble of the Y62. Nothing like the sweet sound of a petrol V8!!

      All in the name of R&D mate, the Hitch crew were keen to test every thing out for themselves, which is a good thing. In normal terms we would have swopped it out.

      Nope, and we never heard of it happening to anyone else, just so strange- lucky too an no one keeps spare caps any more.

    What Tyre pressures you running on the beach?

    • @TheLittleRig
      @TheLittleRig 2 года назад +2

      Can only speak on behalf of myself, but I had dropped to 10psi by the end of this trip. Usually with the Jimny I don’t even need to sit down at all for sand, but this was an exception.

    • @lockeddiffbro6177
      @lockeddiffbro6177 2 года назад

      Your little Jimny does look fun! I notice a huge difference going from 15-10psi in the sand out at Stockton beach Newcastle the sand gets very soft and rutted here in summer.

      I was at 18psi in the Y62 Patrol and no issues (except for the radiator cap).

      These guys are so much better than the 4wd 24/7 guys as they mix things up and aren't afraid to have different makes of 4wds including Jeeps. I also haven't seen them pushing crap products like Chinese made campers, poor quality exhausts etc.
