Holly & Matt thanks for the video 👍👍👍
Its Sandy taupe and it's a 78 series, Grease came out in 78 so you should call it Sandy.
Thanks Guys enjoyed the clip and showing us around Bendleby Ranges . The truck build looks great and can only get better with your plans to improve . Looks a lot more comfortable than Elsie. Hope you and your family have a great xmas .
Well you have just thrown a spanner in the works with your NEW Australian RT conversion comment 😂. I was almost 100% on the Mulgo, especially when I see …. in WA just had one fitted. I had already decided on Cruiser company rear bar but keen to hear the news on the shower tent too. I will be watching with interest this build. Still have to wait 17months for my Troopy to arrive so you will be fully finished etc by then no doubt
There will definitely be more options in the market soon and you will have lots of great options to pick from. You can't go wrong with the cruiser company rear bar.... I am really keen to show you this shower tent its something else 😅 I will be releasing a "how much has it cost so far" video next week which will be helpful hopefully :)
Bendleby ranges is an awesome spot , can’t believe how green it is. Troopy is coming along nicely 🤠👍👍.
Always nice to have a new vehicle, good improvements.
You might want to check the footage from 1:53. The 'see you in the northern territory' sticker can't be unseen once you see it. Usually nice clean content.
Great rig...can already see how much fresher you guys seem...bless the AC. Looking forward to the progress.
Bendelby Ranges is my favourite station stay. My ‘must do’ track is Hungry Highway which they rate as 8 out of 10 in difficulty- absolutely stunning vies and reasonably challenging driving
Spectacular area n on our bucket list, must of had some rain at the right time, so green, lush and full of wildflowers. What a ridiculous way to lock the hubs in
Just love this spot. You asked for a name my thoughts Trooper or Trouper which ever you prefer. Love it though. I know the feeling you have as I still have it every time I get in my new 79 series. Love watching your adventures.
My troopy arrives at the dealership this week..........FINALLY!! I have been watching your set up with interest. Ordered my cruiser company rear bar on the weekend, and spoke them today about a couple of things and I let them know I found their product via your channel, they were really pleased to hear that. You really need a discount code 🤣🤣
Hey mate there is no better feeling picking the car up! You’re going to like the rear bar it’s a great bit of kit. Looks 🤌🏻 on the back. Thanks for telling them that it’s good they know!
Flinders Ranges looks so green in Spring. It was so cold and dry in winter, tho. After over a year living in our caravan, we wish we could have made a lot of things different too. 100 💯 chair and bed, it's so important to have a good sleep and good posture when you're driving, especially the long trip. Love this ep, i watched it 3 times.
I think you should definitely call it Sandy. Fits perfect with the colour. 👍
They were the worst fires across the Eastern Seaboard of Australia in over 10-15 years. It's good too see the area floroushing again
Hot water system and shower accessories all behind your gull wing.....what a bloody awesome idea 🤣😉
Can't wait to see this rig come together, particularly the roof top conversion.
We can’t take credit for that idea 😅
@@OverlandTravellers I'm sure Steve will 🤣🤣
In all seriousness this rig your building will be amazing. I'm so envious. Merry Christmas and safe travels over the festive season.
Can confirm expedition134 boxes are the bomb. I love them - would love to see them built into your build.
Great video mates 👍👏
Looking forward to the epic build greetings from South Africa
hi guys, nice run down, looking fwd to seeing the rear fit out when it's done - any ETA. Cheers
It's amazing how much we underestimate the overall comfort of the ability to stand up straight inside our vehicles/tents brings, before we actually experience it. While I do not have a Troopy, I can relate to this experience with a tent. When I bought my first (dome) tent about 20 years ago, I didn't even consider the height. I focused more on the other features it had. This tent was only 1.6m tall. Not tall enough to stand straight inside. I only realised what I was missing and how much more comfortable I could have been, when I bought a new tent. This time it was 1.95mm tall. That extra 35cm made a gigantic difference in the comfort of moving around inside the tent. I'm sure it will probably feel the same way for you guys once you have your RT conversion done.
Yes being able to stand up straight under cover is definitely a massive plus for any kind of touring setup :) we can’t wait for it.
Looks like Cyprus camp at Bendleby. An awesome spot.
watching the troopy lift a wheel, and your work, what about 'tripod' 😆.You have to be happy with how the troopy is going. good idea about saving weight with roof, looking forward to the build out. is it going to be lightweight?
It won’t be lightweight, but it won’t be too heavy…. Aiming for 3.5-6 fully loaded with two people. We’re happy for extra weight for comfort and convenience. That’s not a bad name it pops wheels a lot! The 40 flexed a lot better 😅
Call the troppy Terry (or Terri). She's (or he's) looking good so far. :) And boy oh boy I've never seen it so green out there.....
The Troopy looks right at home there!
Sure does…. Loving the look of the rims!
looks great!
First time watcher. So commenting on a name for your Troopy. The mention of your old one “Elsie” was often and mentioned with fondness, so why not consider “Chelsea”. Similar of course, but different enough to differentiate between the two. Other than that, enjoyed your video. Happy travelling and playing with your toy.
is there a naughty word on that box 😂😂 Elsa, daughter of Elsie. Elsa was the lioness in "Born Free "
Where did you get your cup holders.
Taffy Toyota or Taffy Troopy ? , good rig rundown guys enjoy 😎👍🍻 just a side note that these vehicles are primarily work horses so some interior and exterior refinements are wanting depending on the individual requirements lol
Did you get the XXL seats?
Call it Accie! Because it must be wonderful to have AC!
Alice. Will becreally interested in final costs - purchase cost and upgrade costs.
I’ll be doing that video soon :)
An Aussie made RT conversion for the Troopy would be fantastic. I hope it's not as square looking as the Alu-Cab Hercules, and looks more like the Alu-Innovation Kronos, where it follows the original Troopy roof line. I'm looking forward to seeing that.
So are we! Initial ideas for it are very exciting.
mulgo poptop are the best aussie made conversions and they have a nice factory finish.
@rune plus they lock from the inside
How about Trudi the Troopy
Once again thanks for the content and greetings from south africa 🇿🇦 🙏
Matt I don’t understand why you had to manually engage the hubs? I thought they were auto-locking now with the option of manual disengagement 🤔 Like you say, nothing wrong with the old system except for people who aren’t mentally organised to get in 4x4 before coming into off road conditions
It is auto from the cab but I believe if you roll backwards it will disengage which is a bit annoying. At full lock it won't do that.
Gday guys , just wondering how you went with your insurance company with the 315 tires with out engineer certificate, I’d love to go that size but just worried I’d get looked into if I had an accident , thanks, keep up the good work
Definitely get this double checked but the engineer that will be ticking us off said that 315's were within the legal range.
You can always swap those hubs for the ASIN locking hubs.
Troopy is looking fantastic. Just wondering where you got your dash mat from? I have a 79 arriving next month 🎉
Hey mate… it’s from fitmycar.com.au, Aussie made and really nice…. Looks and fits great.
Hi Matt, So how are you finding the external tyre sensors compared with the internals when it comes to airing down and up ? I find they are a pain to remove and refit with the lock nut!
Hey mate. To be completely honest with you I haven't aired down yet. But I was dubious about the lock nut as well, and if I had to remove it and put it back on each time that will be a deal breaker for me. I contacted Oricom and asked if they have run them without the lock nut and apparently they stay on with a good hand tighten. I will do this and get back to you if they fall off!
@@OverlandTravellers Will be be good to hear how they go Thanks
With your power setup why not get a Bluetti portable power system you can charge it on the move & from solar at the same time i think it would be cheaper & more practical IMO cheers
Bluetti is a toy of an electrical system, it is ok to take on a picnic.
@@christurner68 Yawn
Don’t mind the look of those more advanced lithium battery boxed but for our needs we are going to go a built in Redarc system.
Hello, can I ask about the color code of the car?. I like them a lot. thank you Michael
Not sure mate. Just type in 70 series sandy tourpe color code it will come up :)
Thank you
I like Sand-ra but thats already been suggested. “Whatta”…as in What a Rig!
Or heres another one….”Homer” as in Ho-Ma first two letter of your names 😂. Thank me later 😊
Trudy Troopy
Why are the hubs stupid? It is full auto from the cab unless you’re doing anything extreme in which case you can lock manually. They work well
will it be annoying to have a puddle around your vehicle from showering...... not better to set up further from the car with a longer water hose etc. just a thought??,,, maybe set-up at front of vehicle? I realise its all about the easy of with the folding curtains etc.
It’s not as much of an issue as you might think. We had the same setup on Elsie and it was fine, we had a sea gear mat laid down which helped. Issue with having it further from the car is what shower tent setup will be needed and how long will that take to set up, hoses, not having a spot for toiletries and lots of little things. It’s an easier and quicker setup being on the side of the car :)
Hold up, so the old truck was called 'Elsie', as-in 'LC'; so simple and so brilliant.
Bertie would be a good name…
Has to be Molly.
Matt + Holly's ultimate fourbie......
The RTT makes the car looks very tall and narrow.
Call the Troopy “Tripper the Troopy “ that’s what She will be doing all her life
Elise ❤
Wanda
cool
Seems top heavy
Sure is. Roof conversion will fix it
Love this car.
Would name the V8 diesel troopy “Greta”
“HOW DARE YOU”
Sand-rah
or maybe Suna which is japanese for sand
Check title spelling :) Great video!
I think you should call it Jeremy. I just looks like a Jeremy.
I think you should name her Sandy Landy...👍
Just leave the hubs locked all the time when you are on a 4wd trip. It does no harm and in my experience with my current 2019 Troopy, it will make zero difference to fuel consumption.
Name should be Tina the Troopy
should call It el3 ,,,,for 3 elsie
Tabitha the troopy
Just call it the tumut money hole
The name will be Aida then you will Elsie and Aida they where the names of my grandmothers Chihuahua dogs and Elsie was the angry one ha ha
Aida meaning reward or present
Elsie meaning pledge to god
Happy Days

Tint your bloody windows!!!
On the bloody list!
@@OverlandTravellers phew!! Makes such a big difference
@@Keithygeorge BIG BLOODY DIFFERENCE
Frenchy, because beige is a French word.
Name her Sandy
Personally I think 33’s is big enough…. 35 is just stupid for travel / touring
As I said in the video, there are definitely better sizes, I just love the way they look. Also Adrian the bloke we travel with has the same size so we can swap if we need. But mainly I like the way they look 😂
I think just call her Taffy , k.i.s.s as they say .....eh
Hey I'm not a prude , but the NT sticker on the box not a good look.
Love your content though.
Evelyn
typo in the header peeps. good country out there.
