Man everything about how old this video looks is wild lmao. This is from 2002 and it looks basically exactly like a TV broadcast from the early 80s. Compare to a video from just a few years later, like say Radiohead’s In Rainbows From the Basement which looks like it basically could’ve come out today and looked completely fine.

soulseek was great! what a classic, and perfect for the time. i was somehow always able to find recordings of shows i had been at, often from the person who recorded it! the internet was so much better back then, before everybody and their mothers were all over it.

I have to apologize for the crowd, we can do it better.This was a TV Produktion(Easter-Rocknight), with a lot of other bands like Jimmy eat world, Heather Nova and so on, so I think lots of people there couldnt deal with MV ha ha ha. Well in fact, if Cedric would les run around the stage, he could sing better. It was a very dirty, raw performance at that time. Like the audience, they also can do better :-)

Long-term wise, it ruined his voice. Now, he has a much more consistent vocal performance (he doesn't move the same way on stage anymore), but he never used his high range as he did in TMV.
That is Jeremy Ward. He was their sound technician and vocal operator. He created many of the soundscapes heard on Mars Volta's debut "De-Loused in the Comatorium" and died one month prior to the release of the album due to a drug overdose.
