This game wouldn’t be getting nearly as much flack if it wasn’t 30$ cant believe they charged real money for this, 100% shoulda been free, then charge after all of us alpha testers play it and they fix it.

@@soSkikik Looks the same as ARK does to me. Definitely not great...but all of this is launch day footage. I'm 70 hours in and having a blast. I never played ARK because it was so poorly optimized that it wouldn't even run well on my high end rig. This has been a fairly solid performer once they sorted out their launch day lag. To each their own. People can hate if they wanna hate...but most is uninformed hive-mind hate.
EPiQ if you like it... go for it. I burned my hands with ARK already. Besides technical issues I don’t like the whole UI... just kills the whole atmosphere for me. And the fact that they advertise the game soooooo different from what it is, is just a red flag for me.

Nothing wrong with reusing elements but this is basically using the game.

I saw a few early access games that aren't that bad, and since i'm possibly a future developer this bothers me, but you are right too many devs are taking deshonest adventaje of the "early access" tag to sell shit.
pre-orders and early access are good things. If a game is coming out that you are certain that you are gonna buy, pre-ordering it gives you special benefits, and it contributes to the game's development so that when the game comes out you get a better product. Worst case scenario, most of the time you can refund a game if it's bad.
But I do enjoy the unique experience of a early acces game. You won't get such a chaotic game with daily changes if you buy a released game. The devs have more freedom to do crazy things. (Sadly with all the day0 patches and rushed releases you do get something similar but even I don't enjoy those games) *points at Battle for Azeroth*
@@alan138 remember when minecraft blew up? notch released it in alpha very much ahead of time for FREE, and it was functional in the way it did what it was supposed. you could build with a few blocks and play with your friends on somewhat functional servers. then he released it as a beta with if i recall it correctly a set deadline for when he was going to release the full version, the beta he sold at 10$ while at release it would cost 20$. and this was a guy sitting alone in his fucking basement and not a fullscaled studio with atleast one big game under the belt. edit: whilst he were selling the beta he was still giving the people access to the alpha so you could actually try it still with your friends and see if you liked the game. arc, atlas, h1z1, dayz and a lot of other sinister game studios have had "early access for years" priced at quite steep prices with bad quality controlls and no set deadline. dayz was in early access for what 4 years before it released fully. early access is synonymus to "we take your money and give you nothing back"

Some games are just further along their development when they enter EA so sometimes you get gems (KF2 + Darkest Dungeon) and sometimes you get games that need a metric fuck-ton of time and work (Ark and Atlas). Also screw Fallout 76, at least the Atlas devs didn't invent their own launcher so people couldn't refund the game vs if it was on steam.

@@PuhPuhPeHPah What he means was this was meant to be similar to Ark: Scorched earth. As already mentioned you were able to make a character for ark in atlas menu. Also there are reused assets and in file directory it was listed as DLC for ark. A spin off using the existing ark engine and assets.

@@pherocks2634 i run ark with a 4790K + 1070 with 60-70 FPS on high settings without skyeffects (because they are useless and powerhungry) and a bit lower shadows. I really wonder how you dont get atleast 60 fps with much better hardware.

well, to prevent all of that, STOP buying pre-orders and early access games!
I saw a few early access games that aren't that bad, and since i'm possibly a future developer this bothers me, but you are right too many devs are taking deshonest adventaje of the "early access" tag to sell shit.
pre-orders and early access are good things. If a game is coming out that you are certain that you are gonna buy, pre-ordering it gives you special benefits, and it contributes to the game's development so that when the game comes out you get a better product. Worst case scenario, most of the time you can refund a game if it's bad.
But I do enjoy the unique experience of a early acces game. You won't get such a chaotic game with daily changes if you buy a released game. The devs have more freedom to do crazy things. (Sadly with all the day0 patches and rushed releases you do get something similar but even I don't enjoy those games) *points at Battle for Azeroth*

then he released it as a beta with if i recall it correctly a set deadline for when he was going to release the full version, the beta he sold at 10$ while at release it would cost 20$. and this was a guy sitting alone in his fucking basement and not a fullscaled studio with atleast one big game under the belt.
edit: whilst he were selling the beta he was still giving the people access to the alpha so you could actually try it still with your friends and see if you liked the game.
arc, atlas, h1z1, dayz and a lot of other sinister game studios have had "early access for years" priced at quite steep prices with bad quality controlls and no set deadline.
dayz was in early access for what 4 years before it released fully.
early access is synonymus to "we take your money and give you nothing back"

Don't really get any of the disconnects anymore. F76 is bad, but not as bad as everyone says it is. Lots of bullshit and fake outrage too. Like them banning "modders" who modified weapons to do insane dmg and pretty much activated godmode. And the people claiming the game is unplayable which is total bullshit as well, but the overblown glitch shit is a thing with all of Betheadas releases. People shit on all the old Bethesda games and claim they were bug ridden abominations. Don't know about them, but all the glitches I had in those games were visual and the occasional arm or plate falling through the ground

Some games are just further along their development when they enter EA so sometimes you get gems (KF2 + Darkest Dungeon) and sometimes you get games that need a metric fuck-ton of time and work (Ark and Atlas). Also screw Fallout 76, at least the Atlas devs didn't invent their own launcher so people couldn't refund the game vs if it was on steam.
