    I have a 2006 Honda Odyssey with 165,000 Mi on it. I bought it only a year and a half ago. I bought it from a car lot and I've had nothing but trouble with it. I did have the transmission flushed and filter changed right after I bought the car. The other day after driving the car for 20 or 30 minutes it started kicking back at 23 miles an hour, 30 mph, and almost 40 miles an hour. When trying to reach 30 miles an hour the car will sound like it's revving up but not moving into gear and then finally it'll kick back and move into gear. I'm also having trouble getting the car to go in reverse. I have to step on the gas pretty hard for it to finally go into reverse and move. I tried taking it to a transmission person but when I take it there the car is not acting up. It can go Weeks driving just fine but then take it on a freeway or something and it starts doing this stuff and then it'll do it for the rest of the day. Is it time to replace the transmission? I already had the battery an alternator checked and they are fine.

    Hey man great video. I have an 04 Odyssey I believe Exl with the j35a4. We recently took a trip to Florida, but 25 miles in (after adding some castrol transmax cvt/atf fluid before the trip) the transmission started slipping to the point of realizing now it must have went into neutral. We coasted to the side of the road to realize the trans fluid must have vented out. At first I hooked up my scan tool and saw it had a torque converter code. Looked in a few forums to see others had experienced this and upon topping fluid level back they were able to drive again. Long story short we added fluid and it would move when in drive. Drove a mile and it slipped into neutral again. Pulled over added more fluid (no longer any puking it out) and then it would move forward and reverse until put into park. Then shifting back to drive it would slip and feel like it was again in neutral. I figured at this point the torque converter was bad and had the van towed home and we switched to the excursion to finish our trip. What do you think?

    You are the MAN! When it comes to these transmissions bro! I have two Odyssey's 03 and 04, I am having problems with both of them, however the 03 transmission is still going, but the rest of the van has a lot of issues including no power steering due to a stripped thread on the rack for a hose. My 04 is ALOT nicer van but left me stranded along the highway and I had to be towed home a long way even though I slept in it over night to let it cool all the way down and added some new fluid to it. I also added a secondary trans cooler before I started driving it. I am fit to be tied because I am on a very low income and live in the boonies where you have to have a vehicle. I just bought the 04 in March this year 2024. I have already put several new parts on it. Both vans are very high mileage, but engines run great. What is your opinion on what should I do???

    How much would it cost to fix the transmission Or drain the fluid lines?? Mine just started jumping out of nowhere! I drove it home about 2 miles after it started?

    Hi there Eddie I just came across your videos am currently working on my 06 odyssey transmission had a shift solenoid code replaced the one on the front two days later got another code for transmission torque solenoid so just ordered the remaining 3 solenoids got the dual linear replaced and caused it to be worse waiting on last 2 to get in considering putting the old dual linear back on also have a filter kit gonna do that as well I do have a question does the longer of the 4 tube's in the dual linear have a screen like the other 3 cause I didn't have on it when I pulled it kinda nervous that it was dropped into the trans oh did recognize the start of tour video driving on Franklin road in Roanoke I do believe I'm in rocky Mount myself

    This describes perfectly whats happening to my wifes van. A shop had it "replaced" and it worked for 9 days then he had it for another month and it worked for 1 day before it happened again. Maybe they kept throwing the old torque converter in and it never fixed the problem. The fluid is super dirty with clutch material after it stranded us each time

    229k miles. 04 ody 3rd gen. 1st 2nd 3rd d n od shifts are more bipolar then a meth hooky on the rag. Code for tcs. Delay slip from park r n to delay. Not in reverse. 0 start roll in 2nd. Its raw slip. But moves to speed. To me it seems like any forward speed under 2000 rpm it looses clutch pressure. No slip over 2000 rpm. Piston oring? Tcc smoked?

    Question
    I would like to know if it’s safe to use Lubegard instant shudder fix. I have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline and my truck was driving fine until recently at a red light traffic my truck started shuddering like it had no power it couldn’t drive forward and also could not drive on reverse also no check engine light went on. So I pulled over and I check the transmission fluid and it was black and dirty. Once the truck cool down I was able to drive forward and reverse so i drove my truck home but at a low speed under 2000 RPM because if I will push it to go past 2000 RPM it will start shuddering. So I did myself the Honda 3 times drain and fill with Honda DW-1 and did a test drive but it still acting the same can only drive slow at 2000 RPM and below because then after a while it will start shuddering and once it heats up then truck goes into neutral mode and I have to pulled over and let my truck to cool down and drive back home. So Is it safe and can I use Lubegard instant shudder fix to see if it will help.

      Defiantly safe to use may not fix your problem though. Sounds like your filter is clogging up.

      @@justcallmeeddie1 How can I replace or
      clean the filter? Also is it possible that my truck is starting to have torque converter problems. How can I test my truck if my torque converter is not working properly?

    • @justcallmeeddie1

      You have to remove the transmission and split the cases to change the filter. You can test the convertor by watching the engine rpms compared to the input shaft speed sensor on the scan tool. When the convertor is in lockup or the TCC solenoid is on the engine RPMs should match or be very close the input shaft RPMs. If it's a difference bigger than 50 RPMs most likely your Torque convertor clutch is slipping.

    14:38 I cant find the transmission lines on a 2008 odyssey we are trying to bypass the radiator cooler with an external cooler

    • @justcallmeeddie1
      @justcallmeeddie1  4 месяца назад

      You have the set up with the transmission warmer on top on the unit. This requires a special adaptor to run an external cooler.

      @@justcallmeeddie1 I figured it out the hard line was rusted and split open, replaced it with rubber transmission hose and kept the rad cooler. Also had to do the same with leaking power steering return hardline. Once you get under there it's easier then I thought. I did it in the rain in a dicks sporting goods parking lot 😆 after driving 15 miles with a bone dry transmission. Can't believe it still works 🥲

      Glad to hear you got it going. Also glad you do have the warmer on top of your transmission. Those adaptor are expensive. They come on the Accords. It is pretty simple on the odyssey setup. I would change that fluid after driving on it dry for a few minutes.
