    Tell me about this walking in sand. Beach vacation coming up but would love to get some workouts in

      @@stacykaup8427 yea it is a workout. Because you are barefoot you are activating more muscle groups in your feet and lower calves, in my experience. Although I don't advise doing this next to the shore where the dirt is compact and the ground is unlevel because of the waves. This will cause your heel to hurt and also may cause ankle problems. I ran along the shore and caused tendonitis. I advise walking closer to the dunes where the ground is more level and the sand is soft enough for your foot to sink in. I would stick to your normal distance of walking though, don't do 6 miles unless yoi are already walking/running regularly. Don't forget to stretch before and after. Anything else you would like to know?

      @@stacykaup8427 regarding the walk itself, I try to keep moving at a brisk pace and keep a consistent pace. On hard ground I can average a 15 min walking pace, on this beach walk I averaged a 18 min walking pace with the same effort, to show you the perspective of how challenging it is to walk soft sand.
