The Mismagius Fairy/Ghost typing is so OP in just about every Pokemon game. Being an incredible special attacker given fairy typing is insane already. Immune to dragon/normal/fighting, only weak to Ghost and Steel, and it can take care of other Ghost types no problem. An absolute monster that's even better than the Ghost/Steel type combination.
While not a nuzlocke, I went with Emboar for Volt White 2 Redux and it is a BEAST: now it's a Fire-Ground type with Mold Breaker and STAB Earthquake and Flare Blitz, as well as being able to use no-recoil Wild Charge. Almost nothing could stand against my Roadhog.
That early game is absolute DEMON. Roxie is nasty and borderline impossible to do sackless. Burgh can be a runkiller if you have bad speed IVs. After that it becomes manageable. On a sidenote Brawly is STRONG dont underestimate him.

I can't seem to get past the double battle fight in the sewers in hardcore Nuzelocke and it doesn't matter which encounters I get. The combo of Golbat always getting flinches and Granbull intimidating and hitting very hard is 100 times harder than gym leaders. It's not even in challenge mode and this fight is insanely hard. In the few videos I have seen about this romhack, the fight I am talking about is always skipped like it's nothing. I basically obliterated the two first gym leaders to lose against team plasma grunts for 5 attempts in a row.

I find it interesting that DocZ and PokemonChallenges have the exact opposite definitions of the Snowball Effect. I tend to agree more with PChal's assertion of problems becoming greater than they normally would be based on the loss of a niche and powerful Pokemon, but I understand how DocZ reached his understanding of the term. But to be fair, working off DocZ's definition, I don't think pre-Burgh is when you reach that point in Redux. But again, there are some cracked encounters that can carry you through like the Relic Passage encounters, a Zubat in the Sewers, or a good Darm/Krook on Route 4. All are game changing encounters that have the potential to greatly impact the quality of a run.

You know, somehow it feels like a lot of the times where battles go wrong for you is when the documentation is simply inaccurate (natures, moves, held items, abilities, etc.).
I don't know if I've said it before, but the next romhack you should tackle is Buffel's Catch Em All/Difficult mod of Emerald that they call Inclement Emerald. At least, whenever it gets the next major update
Having played it myself (not as a Nuzlocke) and having seen many others try to Nuzlocke it, it's just not a fun Nuzlocke challenge in any sense of the word. Repel stops you from encountering any Pokemon below a certain level. In some areas, a Pokemon may appear at higher levels than another. If a Pokemon can appear at levels 47-49, and another at levels 48-50, you can guarantee that the first Pokémon won’t show up by using repels with a level 50 Pokémon at the front of your party. How do you get your EVs in this game and edge your mons? When I put a Pokémon with an illegal ability (eg tepig in this game has sheer force) into pkhex, it will set the ability back to blaze?
The people who say this game is too easy most likely didnt ban set up, ban set up and its actually a bit more harder than you think And or didnt go blind That being said challenge mode isnt that hard still imo,but good video
I would say that banning setup wouldn’t make that much of a difference. Maybe in double battles it would slightly like in my e4 but trying to setup in this game is just too slow paced that you lose tempo. Imo this is hovering around Orginal Blaze Black, but definitely harder than BB2
I beat it without weather and setup and the only real challenge was basically the early game up to burgh. As long as you have like 8 pokemon after burgh you can typically make it to late game. Drayano games just throwing starters at you makes it a lot easier too lol

For this hack specifically you'll need to patch the rom, but that is described in the documentation. Legally you'll need to own the game to get the rom, but you can find it for free online if you are ok with piracy
I'm really curious where you decided to get the Audino. Since you have a Castelia and a Complex encounter. Did you skip Route 19 or 20?
Complex is split into two by the game
@@DocZ Fire! thanks dude. I enjoy the content!
How do you get your EVs in this game and edge your mons? When I put a Pokémon with an illegal ability (eg tepig in this game has sheer force) into pkhex, it will set the ability back to blaze?
You add a text doc to ‘start pkHax exit 0’ and change it to a .bat file in the same folder
3:38 wth happened with the lvl up haha
Well done brobro.
The people who say this game is too easy most likely didnt ban set up, ban set up and its actually a bit more harder than you think
And or didnt go blind
That being said challenge mode isnt that hard still imo,but good video
I would say that banning setup wouldn’t make that much of a difference. Maybe in double battles it would slightly like in my e4 but trying to setup in this game is just too slow paced that you lose tempo. Imo this is hovering around Orginal Blaze Black, but definitely harder than BB2
I beat it without weather and setup and the only real challenge was basically the early game up to burgh. As long as you have like 8 pokemon after burgh you can typically make it to late game. Drayano games just throwing starters at you makes it a lot easier too lol
@@ronnycrawf2441 in your opinion, which weather is the best for this game? Can you please suggest the team too. I'm thinking about sand team cus Im about to start a playthrough
@@ekonthungcyrusngullie4391 I didn’t play with weather but sand is probably the best. Excadrill, hippo, Ttar, Gigalith, archeops, swampert, rhydon/Rhyperior are all good. But i played a nuzlocke so you can’t just really use the same 6 mons the whole time
@@ronnycrawf2441 thank you so much
Did you not know you can evolve magneton in the electric cave before going to Skyla?
chose to stay as magneton since it has a bit more speed but also gets eviolite boost
For some reason I prefer the original Blaze Black 2 . Might be due to the fact it is a little easier
Tou are a god at pokemon hardcore
at 6:49 you use the pc box in the the gym. how? I'm guessing a secondary rom patch
Its a Action replay Code of the base vanilla games
8:10 I can get wingull there?
play an extreme randomiser so u cannot predict anything
6:18 how you did that? I thinked you could do that only in rr
Yo new upload 🎉
Do a shiny hardcore nuzlocke on challenge mode
Do emerald kaizo hardcore nuzlocke next
Du de, you should try the NeoX hackroom
Where are the docs for level up learnsets, cuz either I can't find accurate ones or there is no indication that at the very least joltik wouldn't get discharge at lower level than the cap
Docs should come with the rom, but test it for yourself. Delay Joltik until 55 and see for yourself. I think the doc says 56.
I'm not interested in doing a nuzlocke myself but do I need to worry about ev/iv training for a more casual run through these rom hacks?
Not at all. You CAN, but I'm mkre than halfway into Blaze Black Redux, and those never once came up. Movesets and typing are a bigger deal
Why are you so hot? Did they use a Magma Stone at your birth? Damn :v
How to change ability to Thick Fat?
PkHex
Guys, please help, im at my wit's end - im in m='mistralton and I cant seem to get the gym to open. I went to the tower, cleared it and rung the bell, but the guy in front of the door still blocks the entrance. Am I missing sth?
Couldn’t have clicked faster on this
Still surprised that Milotic isnt a fairy type in this game, but is one in renegade platinum
It would be extra broken
I agree, probably just a balance change
How did you know the level you need for certain encounter ? I cant find good documentation for this.
Are you using Desmume emulator or melonDS? If so can you post your settings, I have been trying to make the original volt white/ blaze black work on melonDS but they are not working on the newer version and I dont want to use Desmume
May I ask, What emulator you used bro??
Desmume
@@DocZ do you have a link bro?
