Nuzlocke Ruleset:
1. If a Pokémon faints, then it must be permanently boxed.
2. I can only catch the first encounter on each Route.
3. No bag items in battle, except for pokéballs. (Held items are allowed)
4. Must be played on "Set" battle mode.
5. Cannot level over the next gym leader/elite 4's highest level pokémon.

I recently beat a hardcore nuzlocke of volt white 2 redux, but on normal mode. Won the 3rd attempt with 10 deaths, was a pretty fun experience.

@@stbjona131 I used DraStic DS from the Google Play Store and it has speed up, but only 2x.
U can set speed up higher in setting tho, or am i using the moded one?

2:30 its only the first pokémon per route in a nuzlocke. This is the right side of the route you caught sweaddle, so the dratini you caught is invalid. I know that because I used to caught two pokémon in that route too without realizing that is the same route;

Honestly I always split that route for encounters, since they're pretty different on either side. To me, if an area is blocked off by a major story event (i.e., the first gym badge), it deserves to be a new encounter.
To each their own, obviously. But that's my 2 cents

If you wanted to make the game a bit harder I suggest putting level caps for every boss battle not just gym leaders. Makes it a lot more challenging and less rare candy usage giving the game a more natural feel. Great vid either way.

Albeit not as hard as this, Luminescent Platinum is a nice drayano-esque game to do a nuzlocke on.

Wait what the hell this is on challenge mode. I love how you didn't even mention that, just no big deal I guess... I find the normal mode on a NON nuzlocke hard enough lmao, I wipe frequently and need to rethink my team despite having no restrictions.

It took me 18 attempts on version 1.3.0, usually got a bad monkey to go w/ my wotter or just early game hell w/ hardcore nuzlocke rules, but it was very much worth it, loved the game and I def should try out the new update eventually.

Gg great video, the 1.3.1 version challenge mode is double the difficult i hope you try it in the future, i won a hdn on attempt 6 with 23 deaths, my e4 and iris team was drapion, blaziken, zoroark, froslass, starmie and ferrothorn. This is the best romhack ever

If you're up for a massive challenge id suggest trying rutile ruby/star sapphire instead of rising ruby/sinking sapphire which is aloot harder, even specified in the documentation that this game is not intended to be nuzlocked and that you shouldn't try. I gave up trying it is BRUTAL :) i also LOVE LOVE the story and gen 5 games the most ♥

I’m not nuzlocking this game but I am playing it with only first encounter per route rules and it’s so fun. So far I have only done the first gym and I have Snivy, purloin, bagon and houndour.

Would that involve going back and forth in a single route until you find a shiny, or literally only catching first encounter shinies so maybe ending the game with like two pokemon?
@@Teaandephemery id say every shiny you find on each route or place you have and the other nuzlocke rules take place so same mechenic but just have more shinies if you have a target go for it but just hunt until you get a shiny and if that shiny faints then its a no more for that one but yeah thats my thoughts on it if that makes sense
shiny runs are fun to watch, excruciating to play. but not completely off my radar, just maybe not anytime soon since i’m time crunching for MCAT right now

Just want to know why not 1.4.1? To my knowledge that's the most recent version (I just finished a fighting monotype run blaze black 2 redux a couple days ago so that's why)
i actually started this last summer when only 1.2 was out but stopped after 4 months due to the pressure of exams so i decided to just continue through with 1.2 and finish it out

The route 20 fishing docs are incorrect and show the rippling water spot encounters, sp the Dratini is guaranteed

Idk if it’s just me but I don’t like when nuzlocker don’t show when they get important encounters, I don’t even know where you got the larvitar from. And also isn’t the dratini illegal since you got sewadle on that route first

I think it can classify as a separate encounter as you can only access that part of the route after beating the first gym. At the end of the day it's his nuzlocke and he can say if it's a separate encounter or not

@Sgogeta80 Yes, it's the same route, but it's a different part of the same route. Think to Sun/Moon USUM. They have 3 separate sections to 1 route. Some Nuzlockers classify those as separate encounters. This can be treated as the same in that regard. It all depends on how you play your nuzlocke
@@DDystopia I haven't played Sun/Moon USUM in a while and I don't plan on nuzlocking it, but I hear what you're saying. Personally, I think it's pretty redundant since it's technically the same route overall. The only known "exception" to this is pinwheel forest since players recognize the outside and inside as 2 different encounters. I didn't do that when I did blaze black/2, but to each their own. I just find it a little weird since it's the same route overall
Nuzlocke pokemon Xenoverse
You should play version 1.4.
I dont think this is a real nuzlocke. You hit so many 5%-chances of encounters, thats beyond luck.
Now to the mistakes in the playthrough:
The only way to get nidoran female (later Nidoqueen) is Virank City Complex outside. This leads to "you can only get spheal trough the egg on the farm", therefore you can get tyrogue (hitmontop).
You can pick the misplay yourself. There is no way to figure out which of these 3 encounters are illegal.
There is no "sitrus range" in the second gym fight cause sitrus berries were not available at this point in the game.
No static encounters in a hardcore nuzlocke + only one encounter per route (dratini was caught by you on the same route as sewaddle).
Charizard doesnt get levitate as a ability.
Typhlosion has 100 Speed, Emolga has 105 speed. You can only be faster if you play with ev´s.
Hippowdon cannot retaliate with EQ at the 4th gym.
Looking in the docs of 1.2.1. breloom cannot learn seed bomb.
I don't know where you got protect so early but its not available until tate and liza.
You overleveled at the end so much....elite four is 74 and champ is 75.
You see: many mistakes.
I should play 1.4, since its a completely different game.
Nidoqueen was encountered as a hidden grotto pkmn. I just treat hidden grotto as whichever pkmn appears first is valid as an encounter. Charizard I was mistaking myself for Vintage white Charizard. Typhlosion is 29 IV (i think) with Jolly Nature. Emolga is not +speed nature (at least not in 1.2.1). Hippowdon used bulldoze animation, I misspoke EQ in the voiceover. Breloom was taught Seed bomb at the driftveil tutor. I think Protect is learned as a level up move on some of my pkmn.
I will say when I looked at the docs for sitrus berries, it was listed in route 20, so I just assumed it was available as stealable with Tyrogus's covet. So I just gave myself the berries. A viewer did point this out later in the week, but I was too far into the stream to go back. In hindsight, I should've gave this a mention but I wasn't focused on the smaller details of the Roxie fight while editing at the time.
As for the rules, I play with the allowance of two encounters on route 20. And my rules for E4 team is that my team can be as high as their highest. You're looking at Normal mode caps, I am playing on Challenge mode. As much as I love showing all the great rare encounters, I don't necessarily feel the need to show all of them. Of course, the encounter chance of each pokemon is independant from route to route, but you must be referring to regression towards the mean, where it is statistically almost impossible that I always get these rare encounters. While I agree what you saw is statistically improbable, I also did not show you the full sample size, and what you saw was skewed.
