If you connect a power inverter with a higher watt rating in the 12 volt socket will the battery last longer and will you be able to use a bigger appliance?

can you charge with solar panels and run a device? in other words if you have under 200 watts of use and 200 watts solar will the solar panels provide the power or does this thing have to drain first then charge?

Yes, it can charge and discharge simultaneously.

I would _strongly_ advice against this unit. Received mine DoA, and it turns out if sat in storage too long it will discharge beyond recovery. It being a relatively new product there is a limit to how long this could have been in shipping and warehouses before reaching me, and its dead and has to be returned to the manufacturer.

No. It can be charged by solar panels, wall plug or 12v car plug.
