  • PECRON asked me to check out their portable power station, the E300LFP. I love the fact that it uses LiFePo4 cells and has the Pecron App so I can use some of the features straight from my phone! It's also very portable and can power up to 600w of AC and 120w of DC! Did I mention it can be charged from 0 to 80% in an hour? Not bad! One bad thing though.... UPS function is not the best.

    At least it has just an ac power cord and no bulky brick charger. Nice review. Have a good one.

    I have had a Bluetti EB3A since June 2023. We used it for travel charging and 12v fridge use mainly. A couple of weeks ago, my office UPS died. I grabbed the EB3A to put in duty until I could get a replacement UPS. Unfortunately, the EB3A let me down. It would give an A005 inverter error every few hours. My mini PC, monitor and speakers draw between 55-70 watts. So it has to go in for warranty. I grabbed an E300LFP from Amazon and it has been working flawlessly. I like it so much that I ordered another with the 100 Watt portable solar panel. I only have a few portable power stations, the Bluetti, a VTOMAN Jump 1500X, and Pecron E600LFP and 2x E300LFP. Without doubt, this little E300 is my favorite. I am a tradesman, RVer and traveler. We use these power stations a lot; and this is my new EDC.

      I need to do more testing with the EB3A. It seems the UPS functions isn't as good as I first thought. Thanks for the info and the comment!

    I just tried the UPS function on my E300LFP multiple times and it worked fine. I tested on my old Ubuntu laptop with the battery pulled. Was running some moderate resource intensive stuff.

    i have had the E300 for a couple of weeks and notice an issue. the inverter seems to be slow to put out a lot of wattage. i have 2 of them and both seem not to run items that need say 150 watts or more on start up. such as my tv. the tv starts to come on then shuts off and there is no error code on the E300 like over wattage out put. i have tried this on other items that draw less than 500 watts on start up and the same thing happens they start to turn on then shut down. no erorr code on the E300. i did find a work around if you put in a small draw item like a fan and have it running then plug in the tv it will turn on and run fine. sorta weird right. so could you try a device with high out put of wattage on start up and see if you get the same results. thanks

      Similar situation. I had used the EB3A for months; only using the DC out. When I needed it for AC UPS function, it overloaded with a 55-70 watt draw from a mini PC. I have to send it in and when I get the replacement; it will just get sold off. I replaced it with 2x E300LFP and love them.

      @@hegefarms4260 I have to agree. I didn't love the unit from the start. It definitely had its use for running a 12v fridge and charging devices; but it always felt cheaply constructed. The handle gave me a few pinches as well. I'll probably just gift the replacement unit to my son.

    Are you sure you were in UPS mode when you tested it? Your display is very dim, you should set it not-to-dim when you're making a video. I can't tell if the UPS mode was ON when you tested it. There is a "UPS cycle" light right next to the battery meter on the right of it. I zoomed your video 500% but I can't tell if UPS mode is enabled or not. I'll look for the secret menu, I thought there was a disable/enable for the UPS mode. There should be a difference when it's enabled, I'm thinking it will use more power differently relative to "pass through" charging. Pass through charging is when the AC outlet is working while the battery is charging from AC, this should be a "slow" version of UPS but not true UPS..
    From your video it feels like you already tested UPS mode and you already expected it not to work so I'm wondering if your unit does not have UPS mode at all, was it an early unit?

    • @mannygee005
      @mannygee005 26 дней назад

      okay I'm going to say "inconclusive." It's not easy to find enable/disable of the UPS mode.
      Your display was dim so I couldn't tell if the UPS light was ON or OFF - inconclusive.
      In other videos they test the UPS mode on this model.
      I've read somewhere that the UPS switches over in 8-20 microseconds, I could be wrong.
      You get in the secret menu (also referred to as firmware menu) by holding down both AC button and DC button, when the battery outline blinks you quick press the AC button twice. You can then cycle from 7(?) options - press AC to change up the value, press DC to change down the values - hold AC button to cycle to the next changeable option. Caution - don't accidentally change something you did not intend to change. I don't know what the 7 options are, they could be the same things the App changes (probably not, you can disable wireless charging, I don't know if that's an option on the App). There are videos about this menu for other Pecron models so maybe the menu options are same or similar.
      I bought mine for the UPS function, I get momentary losses of power all the time and regular UPS with sealed lead acid battery dies after a while - you can change the battery but I'd rather try a power station with UPS, like the E300LFP. I got it $60 off seems worth it. Anyway I'm not going to extensively test the UPS function, I'll just plug in the PC tower and hope for the best - but I will check "UPS mode" is on, and I'll set wireless charging off since I don't need it. That's it for me.

      I would be really surprised if Pecron had the UPS disabled by default and made it so difficult to turn on. I will definitely check it out and will update you on what I find. My apologies for having the screen so dim in the review. Thanks for the comment and great info!

    I have several pecron products. 3 of their E2000's two expandable battery's, 4 of their portable solar panels and two of their E600's. I would not buy this. Don't care about tracking apps or bricks. The E600 is a 100 dollars more and gives you twice the battery capacity and 4 times the solar input plus a 1200 watt inverter. Plus the ups doesn't even work. The ac discharge is pathetic as well no thanks. The E600 is a way better product hands down.
