A very strange machine. It was one of the first produced electronic teletype machines. Earlier machines used a simple blocking lever mechanism and a printing mechanism similar to that of a traditional mechanical typewriter. The printing mechanism of this machine is an evolution of that- it uses a continuously rotating carousel containing levers with type attached. Printing is accomplished by operating a solenoid underneath a passing type lever, lifting and throwing this lever against the paper. Shifting is accomplished by lifting and lowering the carousel.
