I took a Sony NEX 5, bought point and shoot camera with a 28 mm Glass lens for 2 bucks at Goodwill. Made my own adapter custom-made only cost me few bucks. Whole set-up cost me like 75 bucks has a 42 mm equivalent focal length, Photos have a film-like quality looks amazing., good luck
as I have seen from another video, if you could add an input via the flash port of the camera, you may accomplish taking picture when the shutter is released, not sure how but it might be done
Brilliant well done. I have a beautiful Rollei 6006 in my attic. Would it be possible to create a medium format insert the same way with high resolution using a RPi camera?
hello, I know its been years but were you ever able to get around to messing around with that minolta 110? Ive been really keen on trying something with a pentax auto 110
Hello. Links to the different parts are no more existing, would you be so kind to give the material description especially for the camera ? Thanks a lot.
My friend have a good quality film camera. I was thinking to ask him to convert but can you say approximately what is the quality of the photos that can be achieved in this way? I know that also depends from the lens.
I think I'm missing a step. I built this but the raspi camera only produces a blurry circle. You said something about modifying the camera module in the last video but what exactly did you do?
I have a couple of old 35mm cameras that I would love to make work using this. Already have a raspberry pi file whole home server, so working with a pi and ssh is not a problem.
I wondering is it possible to buy and make it with full frame sensor? .. or even more, I don't know if its possible to buy medium format sensor, and make like the same thing but with medium format camera?
Ok ill try do my own and ill give you photo how it look after i done ;) Anyway this rasp berry is obselite? Becouse i have Olympus om 2 for spare parts and heh its really small slr camera
Ich erlaube mir einfach mal, Deutsch zu schreiben :D Großartige Idee, alte Kameras weiter zu nutzen. Ich hab eine alte Nikon-Kamera rumliegen. Vielleicht mach ich das auch mal.
Great project. I'm hoping to build one for my Canon EOS 5... is it not possible to put a Bluetooth output to your cellphone screen.... I'm a mechanical technician....so electronics are a little scary 😂
A APS-C sensor alone would cost about USD 50. But it would be hard to get one, as manufacturers keep them under lock, because otherwise exactly what you are thinking of may happen. It may cost around USD 300 - 350 as a finished product, and I would sure buy one for that price. I have 2 excellent film cameras that could be brought back to use.
In theory yes but it would be difficult to do without damaging the camera. Easiest thing would be to attach a smartphone to the back of the camera which grabs the image via wifi.
@@kassenbon thanks for the video and for the work ! however as stated below, the onshape is viewonly, we cannot download. Would it be possible to allow download please ?
Hello. Really awesome build. But have some questions. Why is it so incredibly zoomed, will it not be the same size as a 50mm lens? And what about the quality of a still image? and how does it work to take still pictures?
Thanks! It is so zoomed in because the sensor is so much smaller than the original 35mm film. If you search for "crop factor" you will find good explanations for this effect. Stills are not yet implemented but could be done rather easily.
Now to find someone with a 3D printer and buy the components. I suppose you wouldn't know anyone who could print the part off for me would you? Thanks in advance to anyone who would.

Imagine a 4K sensor in a super 8 mm o 16 mm film camera... wow
Brilliant. I bet there are a lot of people who will want to do what you have
this man sure cares about his viewers, again thank you sir for keeping up our requests
This is a fabulous contribution you’ve made. Thanks for making this video.
The 5v dc-dc converter is missing from your links.

Id like to give this a try as a first PI project. Have you thought about upgrading to the HQ camera?

which camera module was used? link broken

Were you able to fix the large zoom, so that the camera behaves just like it does when taking analog photos? If so, how did you do it?

Any follow up on this being used in a camera?
Interesting concept!
This with an Apsc ccd sensor, I would buy it

Do you sell this?
Hello, My question is For a trigger Have you figured anything out yet to making that work?
Make this for a super 8 mm camera film is possible?
From my understanding it's the same thing, you just need to figure out how to get the hardware into the camera
Is you could make a photo using light activation

Where do I get this piece?
Do you think this setup is possible in a smaller point and shoot film camera? Is it blue to be scaled down?
Yes, I think it should be possible. Was thinking to modify a disposable camera in this way ;)
Have you removed the lens from the camera pi, to keep only the sensor? If yes how to do that?
Yes, you can either unscrew it or completely remove the holder using an exacto knife from the side.
Hero. Will you do an attempt with a bigger sensor? I get full frame might be costly but APSC might be interesting.

Wow, very interesting! Is there an option to add a lcd screen to see the shots right after?
(sorry for bad english)

Do I you have the code for this anyway?
@befinitiv, where and how can I buy the device? Would you be able to make one for sale? Kindest regards
Unfortunately I only provide plans but do not sell devices.
@@kassenbon Ok thank you :-) . I see that the OnShape link doesn't allow for downloads, only viewing.

It should be possible. There is an exportfunction in a sub menu. It's a bit hidden but you should be able to find it.
You are awesome, man!
Very inspiring thank you for sharing!!
does the dc to dc converter gets extremely hot and damage the battery?
No at least in my case it worked fine. If it runs stable for 5min or so you should be good to go
A film camera is very Slim vs a 35 mm film camera like Cosina.
Intrigued as to the new camera.

That is so cool..
Can you bild one for me?
Very cool project but your audio is too quiet, i can barely hear anything
Thank you for mentioning it! I temporarily had to switch my recording gear and I missed the low volume. Should not happen again in the future.
Would this be viable with bluetooth?
Likely not because BT cannot provide the needed datarate.
you are getting there... if you add a trigger and a screen in the back you are done.
