    I took a Sony NEX 5, bought point and shoot camera with a 28 mm Glass lens for 2 bucks at Goodwill. Made my own adapter custom-made only cost me few bucks. Whole set-up cost me like 75 bucks has a 42 mm equivalent focal length, Photos have a film-like quality looks amazing., good luck

    as I have seen from another video, if you could add an input via the flash port of the camera, you may accomplish taking picture when the shutter is released, not sure how but it might be done

    My friend have a good quality film camera. I was thinking to ask him to convert but can you say approximately what is the quality of the photos that can be achieved in this way? I know that also depends from the lens.

    • @kassenbon

      Yes, you can either unscrew it or completely remove the holder using an exacto knife from the side.

  • @theothertonydutch

    Hero. Will you do an attempt with a bigger sensor? I get full frame might be costly but APSC might be interesting.

    • @krollpeter
      @krollpeter 3 года назад

      A APS-C sensor alone would cost about USD 50. But it would be hard to get one, as manufacturers keep them under lock, because otherwise exactly what you are thinking of may happen.
      It may cost around USD 300 - 350 as a finished product, and I would sure buy one for that price. I have 2 excellent film cameras that could be brought back to use.

      In theory yes but it would be difficult to do without damaging the camera. Easiest thing would be to attach a smartphone to the back of the camera which grabs the image via wifi.

    Hello. Really awesome build. But have some questions. Why is it so incredibly zoomed, will it not be the same size as a 50mm lens? And what about the quality of a still image? and how does it work to take still pictures?

    • @kassenbon
      @kassenbon  3 года назад +1

      Thanks! It is so zoomed in because the sensor is so much smaller than the original 35mm film. If you search for "crop factor" you will find good explanations for this effect. Stills are not yet implemented but could be done rather easily.
