    I had the same issue with one of my temp gauges on my Primitive 500g and how I solved the issue was to simply add some silicone tape to the thermometer thread. Worked like a champ.

    This is the first time I've seen this channel even mention an offset smoker. At least now you know what features to look for in the upgrade.

      You might enjoy this one if you like offsets. Less $ than the Lone Star, but still some good eats off these 6 models - ruclips.net/video/oavE8alJ1m8/видео.html

    Good review, I purchased the 24x48 with a single door and counterweight last year. For some of the issues you mention, but mainly space, it does free up a fair amount of space. I did go with the off-road package, plus I still was concern about moving it around. So I asked Chris and his team made a second pull handle, 4 feet long with a trailer hitch, so I have the option of using my lawn tractor to move it in and out of my garage.
    As you I am very happy with my smoker, check out their new box pellet smoker it may just answer your additional space need.

    Great review/update. I guess the question would be what kind $ you’re looking to spend on the next one. Here in Texas there is sooo many options - obviously from Moberg, CenTex, Evie Mae’s, Pig Iron Patina, Mill Scale, Blue Collar Met Works, M&M Smokers, JR Oyler, A.N. BEWLEY, Gallindo Smokers, El Cucaracho…..the list goes on and on. But $$$

      I’ve heard great things about their pellet grill. Maybe one of these days I’ll get to review one, but they look like they’re the tank of the pellet grill world. That cabinet pellet smoker really intrigues me.

    I’ve had the LSG 20x42 for a couple years now, while the cooker is built like a tank, I have found the smoke profile to be weaker than most. I’ve tried all types of wood, oak hickory etc. just can’t get that real classic smoke flavor on long cooks especially. I believe it’s the design of the air flow but only a guess.

    Is Lonestar worth the purchase if I’ll have to ship it to where I live, northern state? Is it the proper jump from a pellet smoker from the big brand smokers to a more serious heavy duty smoker?

    Honestly, you might be looking at a 24x48 with a upright on golf cart wheels. I also own a Lone Star 24x48 double door. It’s great for what I need. I also have a1/2” firebox upgrade. I love the firebox BUT , I would delete the griddle… if you want a single door get the counter balancer. I would also do your homework about the drop down shelf. Make sure you get a shelf wide enough but, also keep in mind that the shelf will get in the way when you raise and lower the door.

      I got to cook on my buddy’s Outlaw a few months back, and that video will make it to the channel eventually, but really like their cookers. Jay and his team do a great job up there in Northern Indiana.

    Ole Hickory Pits would be great for what you need if you leave in one spot. Once you get into trailers you looking at $7k and up for stick burner smokers bigger than what you have.

    • @TheBarbecueLab
      @TheBarbecueLab  4 месяца назад

      I haven’t cooked on an Ole Hickory, but I see them in the background of a ton of bbq videos on RUclips and competitions. I love the idea of having a cooker that will work with pans and trays, but it sounds like I’d need two cookers. One to install in the outdoor kitchen and one to trailer on location.

      I think TMG’s designs are beautiful! They’re as much a work of art as they are a smoker. Last time I heard was that their wait was about a year… that octagonal firebox on their tank offsets is #chefskiss

      @TheBarbecueLab  4 месяца назад

      I could, but then I run into issues getting the hotel pans to fit into my Cambro shelves. I like the way you think though. When all else fails, a cutoff wheel solves a lot of things.
