No game is perfect there will be things that could’ve been better here and there. But these titles were all great!!!
As far as I’m concerned he has a flawless track record and now people are judging him harshly and unfairly because they think of him as this game designing god... cmon be reasonable and realistic! Especially taking into consideration what the man and his team had to do and go through to make this game happen! Show support for that if anything!
Otherwise you’ll have another great game developer out the industry and we’ll be tons of great games short because you decided to give this man a terrible biased review.
I lost track of the amount of times Andy was cut off during this show. Seriously, he never does it to anyone else, so let him make his point. I feel like we missed out on a lot of great insight due to this.
Fran was effing amazing in this review. Really expanded on every point everyone gave, positive or negative. Thanks alot fran and great jobs guys

Daniel Flores I couldn’t disagree more. He’s the only one who’s not a “hype-beast” for something. He’s grounded and seems to have far more behind-the-scenes insight from developers. He’s always got a great anecdote or piece of information that’s relevant to the news. Tim even mentioned it on KFGD last week.
I mean the guy reviewed Majoras Mask and Metroid Prime, he should always be the guy you listen to in these reviews over Imrans dumbass especially talking about “the girls are underwritten” but I better go back and be able to find he championed the Lara Croft games or some shit because of it
Fran is a great reviewer honestly. They sometimes annoy him which it too bad honestly. Maybe we could inspire him to do more solo reviews?

Greg didn't enjoy Red Dead 2 because he approached it with a lack of patience. It's a slow burn of a game but the payoff is absolutely worth it. If he liked Death Stranding I feel like he'd enjoy RDR2 if he approached it with the right mentality.
Because RD2 is not a ps4 exclusive

He did talk a lot about the star wars preview they went to. I think when Jedi Fallen Order comes out he will talk about that for a week or 2 and then we'll never hear about it.

Yong is 100% biased when it comes to Kojima and Skillup is the most hyperbolic RUclipsd I’ve ever seen, SkillUp makes great videos but he can’t form an articulate opinion without using hyperbole
Other than I'm a huge dark souls type guy and skill up isn't, he gets games how I do and i respect hiw thoughts on games in general.

I’ve been listening to Kinda Funny since the beginning and the only games I can think of being “Tim Games” are Smash and Pokemon. Am I crazy?

Alexander Chilton yeah now that you mention it, I remember his excitement.
Character action games like DMC 5 and Astral Chain are Tim games, and while Greg enjoyed the half hour he played of AC, that hack and slash genre is normally NOT a Greg game.
I respect Imran. He’s a talented dude who didn’t get here by accident. However, it just seems like every time he’s in a video talking about a game...he has nothing but negative things to say. It was the same when he was at Game Informer. He would occasionally show up on a New Gameplay Today, and just say negative shit. I finally had to quit watching vids he was in. It’s not that he’s always negative, I don’t really have a problem with that. I think the issue is the way he expresses those negatives. I honestly feel bad saying it but he just kills the vibe, man.
It's his opinion but he always seems to be so black and white with it. The games he dislikes he really dislikes and there's no redeeming thing about it.
@@Theo_M2 I love Kojima but I don't think people have to respect anything. It's just that he seems biased and I don't think he's doing it on purpose, I think he probably is another one of those that don't think Kojima is a genius and is bitter at the fact that he's known as one.
He would've liked the game if he liked the game but since he dislikes it he hates everything about it and it's probably because he has no reason to put any tiny little effort into liking it and he has a reason to be against it.

not the impression i got at all. he was the counterpoint to a panel praising everything and he was well articulated. most of what he said told me exactly what i needed to know in order to say “it’s not a game for me.” it’s okay to have different opinions. different games reach different audiences.
This gamescast was good, because it showed a ton of variety of opinion regarding Death Stranding.
They literally did not let Tim talk at all, and shut down any opinion that did not agree that it was an amazing piece of art.
They are shilling so hard, I dont even know why they let Imran or Tim on the show.

I just finished the game and I'm going back and checking on what folks thought of it for the first time. When I heard the 4 hrs things I was definitely disappointed

I'll never tell someone to have an opinion to satisfy me. I like Death Stranding, and I have nothing against people that don't - I absolutely understand why people would hate it.
But at the same time, Imran's drivel on how much he hates this game, in a party of people that are somewhat enjoying it, really irritated me. I felt like he kept wanting to cut in just to add one more thing to his list of things he hates about it.
You can't climb up a certain hill because it blocked you off? That was your "I'm done" moment? (I think that's what he said.... I'm paraphrasing)

Listening to Greg make a thousand excuses for the showering/recycling cut scenes but trash RDR2 for all that same stuff is so bizarre. Its irreconcilable. He tried to qualify it but it makes absolutely zero sense.
37 hours and you never skipped a shower cut scene? The two thoughts just dont match.

I think it's just a headspace thing. He thinks of those things in Red Dead as obstacles keeping him away from the gunplay, he thinks of those things in DS as central to the games relaxed loop.
For the record, I love RDR2, really interested in DS.

@@noahball7967 About halfway through the episode, he went on a rant about how Kojima doesn't treat women right because of certain "camera placements" and mentioned that Lea "didn't need to be in her underwear in a scene". It's his opinion and he's entitled to it, I just think it's very nitpicky when the good looking male lead of the game is naked tons of times.
I think it's totally cool that Imran didn't like the game, but he sounds angry when he talks about it lol. I think it would have been better if he did the Tim thing and saved his time

I think it's great that he finished the game despite not liking it so he could actually contribute a legitimate and valid counter-opinion to Greg. Otherwise all these deep dive reviews would just be totally one sided all the time. In fact, to me, it feels like every criticism Imran had was completely warranted and legitimate and Greg would just respond with "yeah but I liked that". It seemed to me like Greg wasn't willing to criticise many aspects of the game at all despite there being, what I extrapolated not having actually played the game myself, to be very clear flaws. Whereas Tim just wasn't even able to contribute anything to the conversation beyond "It's not a Tim game". We need these dudes to play more games (at least the big tentpole AAA releases) to completion to have a proper discussion about them. Not bail out after a few hours just coz they aren't vibing with it like Greg did with RDR2 and Tim with Death Stranding or pretty much any open world game ever.
ArkRaider22 my only issue is none of them gave critique on how to make the game better besides a skip button. So it’s wrong to call this Gamescast a review it’s truly just them giving their thoughts.

Same with Days Gone. I loved that game, but some of the stuff I didn’t like about it were magnified by a thousand in Death Stranding. Greg is all over the fucking place with his game reviews that I just don’t see how anyone can trust him. I’m sure he’d hate the game if it weren’t made by Kojima.

Imran's review of this kind of annoyed me. It seems like he went in expecting it to be a certain thing and when it wasn't he hated everything about the game. Didn't seem to go into it with an open mind on the game. I like that everyone else hit both positives and negatives on the game, he's was just "I hated it".

It sounded like he gave an honest take and you really want a game to be something, even though you haven't played it. It's metacritic is 83 or 84 right now. Lots of people agree with him.

I can maybe forgive disliking RDR2 gameplay, but disliking Arthur Morgan is unfathomable. Easily one of the greatest video game characters of all time.
He just feels like too much of an afterthought a plot device. It's to be expected, he was never mentioned in 1 so he can only be allowed to have so much impact, but because of that his story becomes barely significant in the context of red dead as a series. Because he can't impact 1 he seems to only exist to give John his hat and weirdly make John out to be an even bigger piece of shit, since by the end of rdr2 Arthur helps John completely escape his outlaw life and basically save his family, and John throws it away for revenge against Micah, going against Arthur's final wishes for him and his wife telling him no. You could say Arthur earned his "redemption" where as John did not, but because of sequel shackles he can only matter so much and be so complex.
Watching this in January 2024 is wild (I finally got a PS5 and played through DS). The small room, Andy as Tony Stark 🤣
Instant gratification = the magic word why some people dont get Death stranding , later on the game shines and makes you feel good .
but to get there ,it has to start the way it does and make that you get you frustrated first .
Greg Miller RDR2 Review - "Couldn't run in camp" 2/10
If Rockstar made Death Stranding and it played exactly the same he wouldn't like it. Greg is more interested in sucking up to Kojima, in my opinion. Or if it wasn't a PS4 exclusive he would probably not be as hot about it... again just my opinion. So yeah, I am bummed that he enjoyed it. Because I just seem to have a complete opposite taste in games than him seeing as I loved RDR2 and am currently really enjoying The Outer Worlds. Also, I didn't like Fallout 76 and Assassins Creed Odyssey nearly as much as him.

Fran was fantastic in this episode as he often is in review didscussions, when he has experience with said game
Listening to you guys speak soon the repetitiveness of the game where you go to your base and there are so much animations for taking a shower and sleeping and doing other mundane tasks when your done with the day. It’s actually funny because I am a courier in New York City and I think the game captured the experience of being a courier everyday out on the job I travel through the same island but it’s always moment to moment all day I feel every crack and bump in the road I avoid dozens of pot holes and dodge cars and when you get to the end of the day you go home take a shower lay down and sigh like I did it now we get to survive tomorrow.
I feel like every time someone started saying something really interesting someone else cut them off and changed the subject to stuff we've heard dozens of times. I like the video just something i noticed

Did Imran say a single positive thing? I was just skipping around and legitimately every time he entered the conversation it starts with him saying how he didn't like X thing. And he seems just so mad about it as opposed to being constructive.
Like, just got to the part where he's complaining there are mountains used as barriers as the ends of the map in one location and that's where the game broke for him. Like, really? Every game has barriers like that. Every. Single. One.

The game literally "3dprints everything" it makes senses that all the bridges distribution center are the same.
I see the word pretentious being used a lot in reviews, can't help feel like that word wouldn't be used if the reviewers didn't know Kojima was behind it.
I'm not denying the criticisms, but people have their axes to grind with Kojima, similar to David Cage.
Andy’s Tony Stark costume is so good he legitimately should dress that way all the time. In the words of Bret Michaels “I gotta say, it’s really turning me on”

My god Greg is such a PlayStation fanboy he isn’t even trying, same points he hated in RDR2 he loves in this. It makes it difficult to take his opinion seriously
I don't like the sim aspects of RDR2 because they were done so badly, but love that part of Shenmue. I'd imagine it was just that Greg thought that the sim elements in Death Stranding were just more compelling. Red dead didn't choose to commit to being a sim, it only did in tedious ways by making you pick up ammo in a specific location in the camp that you can only crawl through, but when you invest in a sim aspect you get punished. For example, I named my horse and was connecting with it, but but brush a rock and the horse dies unrealistically and it kills the whole concept of caring for and binding with your horse.
Charlie Milroy Why connect with any loving creature in real life then if it will eventually die. I beat the entirety of RDR2 with my Arabian horse and it didn’t die once. Even if it did I always had 2 horse revivers on me to bring it back just in case. I loved all of red dead tho I can see why people have issues with it. It has its own pace and if you can deal with that great if not the game won’t give you an alternative. I think that’s where the game shines though, all those small annoyances it sticks with them to keep you immersed in the world and it’s rules, no “cheating” (unless you actually activate cheats)
Anyway my comment towards Greg sounds way more aggressive than it actually was, that stance just rubbed me the wrong way I don’t want to shxt on Greg he has every right to like whatever he does.
I’m actually 3-4 hours into Death Stranding and I’m enjoying the hell out of it!

Now I just have to decide between buying a PS4 end-of-gen or PC

I'd go for PS4, unless you have a spare high end PC to waste time on. I have MGSV running 24/7 on my PS4 and no way would I have had my PC running just one game when you have far more other important things to take up, on your rig. And if you're like me who wants to unlock every item and weapon, then I guarantee Death Stranding will take just as long as Kojima's previous success.

The context of my specific comment is more of just Tims overall reliance on nostalgia as one of his ways of judges if he likes something. I know nostalgia is powerful but I don’t like when quality and the choice of something is directly linked to it (not saying that Tim does it to this level ,just that he just has some major tendencies).

@@a.g.m8790 not really? Tim was way more negative about the game than Imran was, but he didn't use inflamatory vocaublary like "stupid design" and "bullshit slog" and "Kojima bullshit". How nice of Imran to call Kojima's last 5/6 years of work bullshit. What I mean to say is Tim didn't drag down the mood of the podcast, and more importantly, the probably monumental amount of work put into this game. Instead, he just said it wasn't for him and gave his reasoning, then let everyone else reflect on those thoughts, all without spitting on KJP's work.
Also Imran just completely cutting people off was just irritating.
The first super slow 5 hours of RDR2 that everyone hated were one of my favorite part of that game, so I guess I will love this game.

Yeah Imran is pretty insufferable in this review. It sounds like he played 40 hours and was doing nothing but looking for things not to like about it. People usually find what theyre looking for. This is defineitly not a game for me, I could tell from the first few trailers but i am intrigiued by the reception of it.
How could you have any idea of the game from the trailers?

Yo, the best thing about this review is that by the end I feel like anybody who listened knows if they want to buy this product properly. It has felt like reviews in the industry have forgotten how to really paint that image for average consumers correctly, and this episode made me know exactly what i think i should feel about this game without knowing anything spoilery. Ty Kinda Funny y'all always deliver on the stuff that means something to you. P.S. People seem to be giving Imran sh**, but anyone following this game knew what he feels was and is a possibility for where this game could faulter.

I really enjoy the gamplay loop, I look at missions and I challenge myself to not only do the required delivery but also pack as much extra deliveries as I can. The challenges that comes with it is just so satisfying.
This sounds like a game that I’m really gonna get into but I find it astonishing that Greg seems to like this game for the exact same reasons he didn’t like Red Dead, only amplified. I’d just like some consistency it seems more like he’s giving it a pass because it’s a Kojima game rather than its own merit.
This is clearly a good game for some people, myself included probably but admittedly it sounds incredibly tedious at points and slow for the sake of being slow with a weird main character. However with Red Dead, Greg panned it and said he didn’t like Arthur for being unlikeable at the beginning (which was ridiculous, it’s a redemption story, it’s literally in the name). Death Stranding seemingly has the exact same problems just worse but for some reason he loves it?

Im thinking of refunding my preorder and getting star wars fallen order instead. Looks way more engaging. This is coming from an uber metal gear fan. Death stranding maybe a sale purchase. If i were to spend time on a game cycle like this ill just work on my red dead online character. More reward for time spent.
