I just started in the gym this year when my youngest started kindergarten. I have been trying for weeks to improve my press. I know it is a form issue more than a strength issue. I really struggle with this move but I do keep trying. I can do a light weight but I can't do a 45lb bar 😢 for more than four reps. Visually I don't get this exercise because I am almost totally blind. Have been visually impaired my whole life. I am 46 years old, 5'3 and 125 lb. 2 years ago I was 5'3 and 175 lb. Weightlifting definitely has changed my life and I love it. Thanks to you and You Tube. As an aging adult I love technology but I'm also terrified by it at the same time. I can't imagine self-driving cars even though I would love one being visually impaired, and I can't imagine going somewhere and not knowing if I was engaging with a person or a robot. But my children who are 16 10 and 5 totally love and engage with artificial intelligence and technology.
What a simple, clear actually useful video. Brilliant. I learned a lot, and LOVE how you jump straight to the point without bullshiting in introductions for a few minutes. This is a great series. Please continue making such informative videps
Hi just gave your overhead press a try. Found it easy to do. Haven't seen the hip flex in other overhead presses and find this extremely helpful. Thanks.
I have a tweaked rotator cuff that I train around; this exercise is perfect for my situation but some shoulder exercises I can’t do. I can go heavy on these
Hi Sulley, newbie here. Do you recommend pulldowns to complement the o/h press? Or curls, leg extensions? I know that these (excluding curl) are generally machine based exercises but I feel that they have a place in a well rounded resistance training programme
Ok, I deleted a couple of posts about my odd neck muscles. It appears to be the posterior scalene which I must have grown with bad form as a teenager many moons ago.
I'm a simple man really. I see a Sully video and I click
And add to playlist ✅
And grab equipment to follow along ✅
Gotta love it!

Thanks for this video. I have never seen the fingerprints into the bar setup. I will give it a try. Currently doing the Baker Power Building Program
You can't go wrong with Andy's programming.
Beautiful, great! Thank you!
Didn't know about that grip, thanks
Thank you for your videos. I have purchased your book and am currently studying it.
Thank you for posting this and your insight. Stay safe out there
I did all five of these errors while training on Monday!
This is not true. I was there.
5 negatives make a positive. 😁
2021 is going to be the year of fixing my press, thank you!
Your videos have become my go to before a workout - THANKS!
Thanks Dr. Sully. Love the tee shirt!
You bet!

That's some Yogi Berra-level wit!!!

Public utility !!❤
Can you bench with that grip?
Same grip, just wider.
you could say I'm cheating or you could say I'm using the most muscle to move the most weight possible
I am surprised and arched lower back wasn't highlighted as an error
Why not put the "killer" first??

That is a BIG scalene...
@@GreySteel still, at least it's symmetrical 😁
It helps if I review this from time to time.
We're here to help. Thanks.
10:37 I believe that that is a Karl Marx quote
Uh oh, I only have dumb bells!
Not a strict press.
That's right. We don't do strict presses in this system of training.
aren't you from barbell logic?
I'm from Arizona. I occasionally work with Barbell Logic.
This is part of the Starting Strength Diaspora, but Dr. Sully is making his own content for a special population.
