    Thanks for this video, the way you talk is so calming. I am feeling quiet anxious because I have had irregular periods and have lost my periods for around 3 months ( I am 17y o).I'm trying to recover slowly and naturally by taking chinese medicine, the main reason I am so anxious is because I have noticed more body hair growth recently and I am afraid it is caused by serious hormone illness like PCOS. I will try my best to change my relationship with food, let's hope that I can restore my menstrual cycle as soon as possible.

    Thanks for this video, I've had ha for almost 2 years struggling with a variety of eating disorders on and off for the last 8 years. I've had cervical mucus for maybe 2 months now but then recently had little to none for a few days. Felt very full eating my usual meals the other day and today I'm a bottomless pit almost like I had no leptin at all, but still allowing myself to eat more. The other evening I was surprisingly chilly and today I was overly warm. Its hard to know sometimes if I'm anywhere close but I'm doing my best to tell myself it's okay to eat more even if I don't appear underweight due to having a broad frame. I want to get better as my legs sometimes hurt (possible onset osteopenia) and I have to pee all the time, so annoying! Trusting your body really is a process but I hope to get there eventually, again thank you for sharing 💕

    honestly made me feel more comfortable with the fact of discharge and that my body is at least trying.. i think i’ve been to stressed about it just being gone.. but i definitely have been seeing changes good changes getting there slowly but getting there. i’ve noticed progress has been coming but the only problem is the stress because i just simply can’t control it. with my body temp i really just have been focusing on if my hands are feet are cold my main thing and i definitely have seen progress. but i got really discouraged when my little sister got hers and now i’m kinda just idk but after listening to what your saying like every little thing. hairs nails like definitely made me come to a realization of how far i have come from i shouldn’t get discouraged when i’ve come a long way and there has been progress even if it’s not 100% what i was looking for

    Hello Danni, I have a restrictive type of eating disorder. Since October 2020 I've been doing intermittent fasting to keep my body at a low weight, not eating for 18-20 hours and eating as much as I could in only 5 hours. I still had my periods and I was still ovulating. However, as of the last 7 months, my periods have been irregular, they've been lasting longer and are excessively heavy, with my last period lasting 2 weeks! I've been put through hell by doctors trying to get to the bottom of things. They've been dismissive, refusing to do any tests. I ended up having to pay privately for a hormonal blood test and according to the results, my FSH, LH and oestrogen are all low and my prolactin is slightly elevated, so I haven't been ovulating. I sent a copy of these results to the doctor last week and she hasn't even looked at them! A nurse I spoke to told me the changes I'm experiencing are not caused by the fasting, but I beg to differ because I was healthy and my period was regular before starting fasting! Since I'm experiencing anovulatory periods, does that mean eventually my periods will stop? And can I prevent that by eating more? :( I feel so anxious and alone, no medical support and I've been desperately searching online for advice and support! :(

    Thank you so much! You're so encouraging... I've had HA for the past 6 years due to an eating disorder and over-exercising. It's always been an up and down, since I've been (half ass) recovering for about 4 1/2 years... but now I'm just experiencing extreme hunger, mood swings and soreness, which is why I've been eating much more and haven't really been able to exercise the last few days... And I think that's because my hormones are doing something. I felt really uncomfortable and kind of scared about those changes in my body, that's why I searched for someone on the internet to tell and reassure me, that it's okay and actually a good thing! And then I found you! Thank you so much!

      @@ibabymonster I think the weight gain was the essential reason for why I got my period back. But honestly, while it happened, I didn't even notice it thaaat much. Yes, at times it was really uncomfortable, but I overcame it and pushed myself to keep going because I knew I couldn't keep going the way I was a few years ago. I haven't stepped onto the scale one time during that time because I knew it would trigger me in some way. So instead, I focused on other things in my life like drawing/painting or playing piano. This number that shows up on the scale while I'm standing on it doesn't define me. It's just the force with which gravity is pulling me towards the middle of earth 😂 don't worry too much about it as long as your body is functioning and healthy... and now, mine is. 🤗

Did you ever experience constant hunger (it's not EXTREME, just that you get hungry really easily really quickly even after eating to 100% full) all day every day during HA recovery, even if you're nourishing yourself and eating ALL the food? (I'm eating 3000+ cal each day and still hungry)

      My experience with constant hunger was WHILE I was restricting. I find that people who had a suppressed appetite during HA usually get hungry in recovery and vice versa. Because I started eating WAY more fats in recovery, I was satiated easier :)

    Is it still very likely to get my period back if I eat a lot more, even if I don't eat very regularly? I find with my schedule it's a lot easier for me to get in about 80% of my calories in the evening/night and I know eating regularly can be important to allow your body to trust you have a continual source of food. I'd love if I could get my period back just eating a lot in about 2 sittings but I know that may not work for everyone

    • @DaniSheriff
      @DaniSheriff  Год назад +2

      If you're eating enough overall this should be ok...In some cases we do need to dial food frequency in a lot and I would say it depends on other lifestyle and stress factors. I'd for sure want to talk more to you and learn more about you to fully answer that for you.

      Not a dumb question! It is certainly common and when your cycle is starting back up there is a range of normal - so long as the bleeding and spotting starts to spread out and is always moving toward a regular looking cycle it's no problem. If nothing changes and this keeps happening, definitely consult someone or dive deeper yourself!
