    Im currently struggling to let go of exercise for two reasons. The first one is fear of weight gain and loosing my progress (I come from a 35lb weight loss journey), the second one is a bit more complicated, I’m currently a volleyball athlete and was presented with an opportunity to better my training. I’ve never been great at my sport but lately I’ve been doing better than ever, so quitting volleyball seems non negotiable at the moment.

    As an exercise addict, this video was the first one that considered that it's often not easy to just stop exercising. I changed my HIIT to Pilates and do more Yoga, and I'm trying to change my schedule to prove myself that I will still be fine if I don't have my usual routine. Sadly, ppl don't understand the impact this has on the body, if you're not pregnant they be like "oh then it's all fine dw" :(

      Oh yeah, it's really hard to get people to understand stopping the exercise is tough. It's like telling an addict to "just stop" :|

    That point number 6 just strikes me. Thats what I do all the time. No matter how tired I am after cleaning the whole house, I never consider it as a "workout" and therefore I have to do the "real" workout to make myself feel "active". I really have to learn to stop discounting my activities!

    Any tips on overcoming exercise addiction? Over a year ago, I started eating very little and exercising a LOT, so I lost my period. My eating gradually worsened to the point of a full-on eating disorder. I’m proud to say I have recovered from the eating disorder and have been eating a normal, restriction-free diet for over 8 months. However, my period has not returned. Several doctors I have visited have told me that it is because I still am not a healthy weight, although I have gained some weight even since I have started eating more. They say I still exercise too much and have to either decrease my exercise dramatically or stop it altogether, as it will be very hard for me to eat enough to eat back all the energy I lose from them everyday. However, I love exercising so much that I feel that it is impossible for me to tone them down at all. The very thought makes me severely uncomfortable. I really do want to get back my period and my health, and I am terrified of infertility and osteoporosis. Is there anything I can do to ease these feelings to do what I need to do?

    I love this. I’m struggling because my dream has been to be a professional dancer.. specifically on cruise ships. When I struggled with my eating disorder I lost it for 6 years and in 2021 I went all in with recovery and finally got it back in July 2022. I had it 3 months and then lost it again until last month and I’m supposed to start my dance auditions. It is my dream but I don’t want to lose my period again! Any tips?

    oh my God, i am glad that I found you. I have problems with stress management and everyone told me that quitting exercise would help me to get my period back, but somehow this situation made me even more stressed and it got worse, so I decided to stay within exercise. I do eat more often, but I still weight lift at the most 3 times a week, the rest of it i am doing yoga, pilates, walking or nothing at all, whatever it feels right for me, it's been only 2 weeks since I started to do it, but it's my first try and i want to see what happens. I also journal a lot, it makes me feel in connection with my mind

    • @DaniSheriff
      @DaniSheriff  2 года назад +1

      I'm glad! Just make sure you're working through your 'shit' because theres a chance you have to decrease exercise eventually again, and you need to be in a mental place where you're open to that in case it happens!

      @carospath 2 года назад +1

      @@DaniSheriff yep, actually i did not know i had so much shit i had to go through until i started to journal and it also feels like i am slowly getting more and more ready and in peace with idea of working out less and eventually stopping if it's what my body needs, because i don't enjoy it when i am not mentally okay which is whole point of exercising, to make me feel joy and happy

      Focus 100% on fueling yourself. Totally possible, especially at school age.
