It's been years and I still watch this. Fluery is the best goalie we've ever had and I wish he wasn't stolen from us. I understand why we kept Murray over him but still breaks my heart
He sprayed water in his face because he knew he was going to cry and didn't want anyone to see. TY MAF for a fantastic 13 years 3 Time Stanley Cup Champion and Always, Always a Pittsburgh Penguin!!!
That city loves him. He deserves every tribute he gets. He'll get one from Vegas too. He started that franchise and is the face of it too. Think about that. How many guys can say that they were that important to 2 cities? He'll never say it but both towns love him and respect him so much.
rpfs17, why are you surprised? I knew the moment Marc Andre was announced as the VGK goalie he'd receive EXACTLY that welcome the first time he played the Pens in the Burgh.
Anyone who's familiar with Fleury and his personality and everything he's done for the Penguins and the entire organization know what kind of man he is. Fleury was always the kind of person who quietly led this team with his always positive outlook and happy go-lucky personality. He meant the world to Penguins fans, he meant a lot to the organization, and he'll always remain in the hearts of Pittsburgh. Not even including what all he accomplished as a Penguin, he's just a wonderful person to all his teammates, all his competition and everyone who's grown to admire the guy. He'll always be a legend in the city of Pittsburgh and he just might carve himself a place in Las Vegas lore at this rate. I don't know if the Penguins will ever beat the Knights so long as Fleury is in net. I just think his larger than life personality will stop the Penguins from ever winning against him, lol. And to me, it'd be fitting in a way. Fleury was always that kind of guy who tried so hard, worked so hard and yet could laugh it off when things went bad. Any time when things went right, he was appreciative and never seemed to take it for granted. He's a once in a life time personality that is so rare today, and the city of Pittsburgh was unbelievably lucky to have him for the time he was there. I'd bet most fan bases would give a lot to have a goalie who not only was great in net, but great in life too. Just a special guy who's genuinely earned all the love and adoration he gets from Pittsburgh fans. It was oh so bitter sweet when he left, and it'll always be bitter sweet when he returns, but he also deserves a starting job and if this were a perfect world, he'd never had worn a jersey other than the Penguins'. Keep kicking ass in Vegas, Flower. You were too good for Pittsburgh, and the hole you left might never truly be filled.
He wasn’t too good for Pittsburgh. It was a match made in heaven. This will always be his home. I think his heart will always lie here. He did so much more than play hockey during his time here. We all loved him so much, and still do. It’s a shame that we couldn’t keep him. Personally, I think it could have been a mistake. I know Murray is very talented and definitely helped us get the cup, but Fleury was such a huge part of this team. It’s bittersweet seeing him on our ice again. Though this time, in a different jersey. 😕
Just imagine that. Imagine that feeling. Imagine having a team thats now your rival and its fans, show you that level of respect and love, as you're about to play against them.... Insane.
- Amazing tribute from the Penguins & the fans. Class act all the way guys. Obviously Fleury was an integral part of Pittsburgh's 3 Stanley Cups in 2009, 2016, & 2017. And now the Vegas Golden Knights so far are reaping the rewards of Fleury's tremendous play in goal. Plus, Fleury is just a good guy & class act all around. Very well-liked by fans & his peers around the league. :-)
Fleury was in my hockey sport program back in high school (as well as Pascal Dupuis) and when we organize friendly games during the summer with old teamates they show up to play once in a while and they are both great guys. They love the sport and they dont care about your skills or where you're from. The kind of guys you take beer with after that :)
i get what you say but i don't really think so. he'd been ready to leave for a long time, and he's a great guy to build a new franchise around, and i feel like he loves it in vegas. on the other hand, it's absolutely true that he'd been in Pittsburgh for a long ass time and he has a lot of friends there, and that doesn't just disappear after you go to a new team
Haven’t cried this much since Duper donned his jersey one last time and carried the cup in 2016. Excellent tribute for one of the best! Much love for Fleury!
I cried for a little while because it was over, but looking back I smile everytime I think about it because it happened. Three Stanley Cups and 14 years of memories. Merci, Flower.

I’m a huge caps fan, but this video is just too sweet. I was actually tearing up. Fluery is an amazing goaltender and it really is fun to watch him make incredible saves as he does.
Thank you Fluery for making my childhood awesome watching your games as a Cape Breton screaming Eagles fan. Used to reach over and tap your gloves after each game. Then after I was adopted I saw him in the NHL and l couldn’t believe it. Pittsburgh will always be your team.
You can really tell that guys like him and PK Subban care so much about their organization. They’re both great humans (you can disagree with how they play) and what they do off the ice really shows it! Especially for PK Subban, please for the love of God protect these two, they’re amazing people that represent the NHL very well.
Eric Dillhole that “shitbag” has donated 10 million to a children’s hospital in Montreal and would visit the kids there all the time. Sleigh ride( look up on RUclips) was an amazing thing he did and now he has started blue buddies. Which is when he takes a police officer and their family and buys them a suite along with a tour (I believe a tour and is for every home game). I’m sure Flower has done some great things but PK Subban has proved that he is a decent human and not a shitbag...

Damn, I remember watching that save 0:54 against Ovechkin's breakaway during the 2009 playoffs and cheering so loudly because that helped save the game and send them to the semis. I was 7 then. Memories
I still lose it when he points to his heart and the cheers keep going and you see him start to really tear up. I was so sad when he left here. It had to happen but what a great person and player.
1:43 watching BOTH teams showing respect and salute to Fleury with their sticks is awesome, one of the best ways how to show the respect to a hockey player.
I'm a hard core Caps fan, born and raised, however....... Fleury has to be my favorite player. He's an awesome player and an awesome man!! I'm privileged to say that I got to watch him play let alone play in a rivalry such as the Caps-Pens. Fleury, your the man!!!
A fabulous, heart-warming tribute for such a great goalie from amazing, loyal fans. I LOVED the look on his little girl's faces. "That's my daddy!" Way to go Pittsburgh.
Most cities that have a hockey team are hockey towns no matter what other sports teams they have. NHL players are usually very humble and their fans love them for it. NHL is the greatest sport, greatest players, greatest fans.
Now Fleury is a guy who deserves a tribute

Damn, I remember watching that save 0:54 against Ovechkin's breakaway during the 2009 playoffs and cheering so loudly because that helped save the game and send them to the semis. I was 7 then. Memories
Flower will always have a home in Pittsburgh. He will always be Black and Gold to me. ❤️
I’m choked up.
They all love him. Even when he was a penguin for 14+ years, the fans still appreciate him and he’s the most loved goalie in the league. (I think)
Our Quebec love! Love ya Marc Andrée!!! Once a Penguins always a Penguins!!!❤💯
I still lose it when he points to his heart and the cheers keep going and you see him start to really tear up. I was so sad when he left here. It had to happen but what a great person and player.
Rewatching this to remember when he was a Golden Knight. Still miss him so much. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
1:43 watching BOTH teams showing respect and salute to Fleury with their sticks is awesome, one of the best ways how to show the respect to a hockey player.
Respect to Fleury my favourite goaltender❤️
I'm a hard core Caps fan, born and raised, however....... Fleury has to be my favorite player. He's an awesome player and an awesome man!! I'm privileged to say that I got to watch him play let alone play in a rivalry such as the Caps-Pens. Fleury, your the man!!!
You can tell that deep down he wants to be with the pens.😭 you are very missed in Pittsburgh, I hope one day you’ll come back.
A fabulous, heart-warming tribute for such a great goalie from amazing, loyal fans. I LOVED the look on his little girl's faces. "That's my daddy!" Way to go Pittsburgh.
Awww... Even though he moved to the Golden Knights his old team and fans always still cared about him. 😀😭
And we always will!
I was at the game for this and let me tell you - the cheers were so ridiculously loud. It was a beautiful moment.
Most cities that have a hockey team are hockey towns no matter what other sports teams they have. NHL players are usually very humble and their fans love them for it. NHL is the greatest sport, greatest players, greatest fans.
😞 what a player on the ice and person off the ice I wish we still had him!
