Oceano is a census-designated place (CDP) in San Luis Obispo County, California, United States.
Oceano's beach is the Oceano Dunes State Vehicular Recreation Area, a 1,500 acres (6.1 km2) coastal sand dune. As the only state park in California where visitors may drive vehicles on the beach, tourists are attracted from all over the United States. Activities on this beach include riding the sand dunes on all-terrain-vehicles, swimming, clamming, camping, surfing, surf fishing, hiking, and bird watching.

An all nighter for my high school friends & I, we all got stuck in dunes, camped out by bonfires. Priceless experience. Later learned The Ten Commandments was partly filmed nearby. 💚

Man I was just at Pismo Beach yesterday staying at Morro bay. If I knew that there was a beach I could drive on sooner, I would've went there! Oh well, at least I know when I do return, I'm definitely going there!

For all of you that enjoyed this video. If coastal commission has there way it will be shut down for our future generations to enjoy as our ancestors did, From the old days of the dunites for over a 100+ years people from all over the world have come to enjoy our dunes from walking to camping fishing and OHV . Many lies have been set forth about particulates from the beach (OHV) driving on the beach. When it was closed for covid the particulate matter increased. as you can see in video lots of sand blowing and not a single OHV. I could go on and on.
Bottom line is let your voices be heard. Don't let them take away a 100+ year old family tradition just cause they don't enjoy what we do and enjoy'. Look into these great folks fighting to keep it open for the past 20+ years

What street has the best entrance way?
@@MzTerios Grand Avenue in Grover Beach. Take the 4th street exit from 101. I can walk there from my house in about 10 minutes but never do. It's funny , kind of like a pool, you get one and use it alot at first then after a while forget about it.
@@billruss6704 it's a beautiful view. I live in the desert. Hopefully I get a chance to visit here sometime this year (: I like that's its deserted and theres plenty of space to keep distance away from people. Unlike the socal beaches .. it's hard to find deserted ones. They are always way too packed. Thank you for the info!

What a big beach is it!
Used to be a great place to watch the Firework..used to ride my dad's green VW bud at the age of 10 mom and dad grew up in and. Grand parants that live in that area ..their are dunes in Oregon also ..anow live in Klamath Falls Oregon

Further south at Zuma beach .Rog.
Much of this is driving on Pismo State Beach, not in the ODSVRA. And it's not very relaxing for pedestrians and wildlife with vehicles driving on the beach.
Then head North at the Grand Entrance, you can walk for miles with no vehicles at all 👍
Please feel free to walk 800+ mile of coastline in the State of California. There is very little left of this. Ms. Replogle, from the bottom of my heart, please leave us alone, I really don’t understand why you re so bitter. Please feel free to reach out to me and please explain to me what made you treat the OHV community the way you do, I m an incredibly open minded human being and I really want to hear you out.
Hopefully you can find some peace in your heart. There’s plenty of room for all.
You have 800 miles to walk on. We only have a few miles. Stop being selfish. Stop trying to ruin family traditions. Driving on this beach has been happening long before you even moved to the area.
