Just saw this picture at the Aero Theater last night with Mueller live on stage introducing. A 35mm print! Wonderful! NOTES follow: As we've seen whether in crime or in law, Raymond Burr nearly always played the authority figure. It's clear the director/producer fell in love with the Theremin cue, as it is plugged in every time with Claire's awesome voiceover. So the score appears a bit choppy, weaving awkwardly between the score that Sawtelle created, and the theremin cue, which is indeed mesmerizing. The story and dynamic character interaction in this love triangle are 100 percent on target! None better! The painful and poignant ending goes head to head with any film out there! Unlike North by Northwest which is uplifting and humorous, Raw Deal is chillingly sad and powerful. 2 beautiful ladies send this guy off into his eternity. I really can't praise this film highly enough. It belongs right up there with the better known classics like Maltese Falcon, Out of the Past and The Big Sleep.
@@NoirFan77 When I was a kid, around 1971, the Ontario Science Centre here in Toronto had an event in their theatre where a guy had a theremin and discussed it, and showed how it worked. I got to use my hands to make some sounds briefly after it was over - so I have a soft spot for theremins.

Thanks for this!
As Muller said elsewhere : Film Noir Nirvana!
Worth it for $4 on Amazon prime. Limited wardrobe for the two women, but the hat veils were choice!
TRES Cool/Heavy Film Noir of Late 40s
The theremin was also used by the Beach Boysin the song Good Vibrations.
If you're interested, I've compiled a list from various sources of films using or about the theremin:
