Friday the 13th 2009 is underrated in my opinion. I certainly prefer to watch it over Jason Goes to Hell or Jason X for sure.
Jason Goes to hell is one of the worst movies ever made in my book. It's right up there with the Elm Street remake and Jaws 4.
Fucking THANK YOU. The remake made Jason legitimately scary for the first time in years. I was in the theater thinking "How the hell are they gonna kill this dude? He's like a varsity football team in one guy!"
I prefer it to all of them except Jason Lives.
It's about freaking time! Chronicles of Riddick is a fun movie, despite some drastic changes in tone.
My wife and I still yell "THRESHOLD!" at each other randomly fairly often.
I love all three of the Riddick movies.

I feel that Riddick was a fairly shitty retread of Pitch Black. I hope the next one is better.
The third movie ruined the second for me. I thought Chronicles was a sci-fi Macbeth and then they went and wrote off everything to retcon it so we could just have PItch Black remade.

Same. I'll be crazy here and say, it's my favorite F13. Nightmare ReMake was complete trash. But, Friday the 13th remake was awesome.

Cant recommend pitch black enough- entirely different movie than chronicles, more of a standalone sci fi horror. Visually cool too.

Friday the 13th 2009 is easily my favorite of the bunch (and I love the franchise). It's one of my favorite horror movies and I have a ton of fun with it. I preordered this immediately when I heard about this 4k release earlier today.

Best month of the year from Arrow. Chronicles of Riddick is definitely the heavyweight title. Planning to get 3 of the announcements. F13 remake is awesome. Really makes you wonder what horror films they are holding onto for October drops. You're gonna have to give that film a rewatch. Something isn't right on that view.
Normalize single releases loaded up with goodies with a massive affordable boxset released later or first with us knowing more extensive single releases are coming.

I wouldn’t go into this movie thinking it’s a remake. I’d consider this more of a reboot.
I live in the UK & have just checked out the official website UK for Arrow Video & the Friday the 13th 4K release is not showing as a pre-order 😢, all the others are there though. So unfortunately it looks like we are going to have to import it if we want it. This movie is one of my favourites in the series & chronically underrated. I love Jason in this & how brutal & fast he is, true it is just a re-telling of the original 4 movies in one, but it’s done in such a fun way.
Arrow sometimes screws UK but sometimes screws US. I just wish they'll release the movies for everybody. I'm sure they'll sell so why sometimes one area they do and another area they don't?🤔

It should’ve been one of those rare occasions when a new film came to physical media on a Friday. September has a Friday the 13th this year.
That jingle is so relaxing at the start of your videos the way it jumps back and forth between left and right speakers..question..have u noticed how the Arrow 4k of American Gigalow doesn't have the 5 blocks of coulour that useuly run along the bottom of the cover art?

Please give the Riddick movies another chance because they are great movies.

I still need to 4K of Pitch Black. It has been on my wishlist ever since I got 4K. I just keep passing over it. But now thinking of getting the Turbine edition instead. I will be getting Chronicles.

Friday the 13th 2009 is a movie I really enjoy. I watch it at least once a year, usually more. And it’s Arrow, you just know it’s going to be a good release worth the purchase price.

I rarely buy Blu-ray anymore, but there’s a place I drive too now and then out in Couer d’Alene, ID they has a huge selection of used and new movies. A couple weeks ago I picked up a cool Chronicles of Riddick steelbook thinking we may never see it on 4K 😐. Damn it 😂 But, I’m definitely getting that Friday the 13th. I actually think that one is underrated.
For me, the last Hellboy has grown on me. I am a big fan of the first two and didn't want to see that thrown away. So I really disliked the next movie. Now, after a few years, I've come to appreciate what they did with it. It's a slight reimagining, but it's entertaining, and everyone seemed to put a lot of effort into making it work.
While I don't hate the remake at all, I am content with my Shout! Factory box set. Now if Arrow was doing a 1-8 4K set, that would entice me, but not the remake. BTW, the remake was my first F13 movie, so it has a special place in my heart as it was the reason I got into the franchise.
Anyway, Sept is a bust for me from Arrow, which is probably a good thing now that I'm unemployed. I mean, I liked Chronicles of Riddick, but not enough to bother owning it again, especially after the abysmal follow-up that pretty much retconned Chronicles and remake Pitch Black.
Not familiar with anything else.
Oh, reasons why the remake is 1-4 redone:
1. OPening sequence with Pamela getting decapitated
2. Jason wearing the bag
3. Jason gets the hockey mask
4. The main girl attacked by Jason fin the beginning is the sister to the main male character, who is looking for her.
The Friday the 13th remake was definitely the worst of them all. Even Jason Goes to Hell. I too saw it in theaters and was one of them most run-of-the-mill slashers ever. Did absolutely nothing new and took zero risks. Chronicles of Riddick I also recall being freaking terrible. Boring script but the third film Riddick was definitely what the franchise needed to pick up again. Riddick belongs in an "Alien" isolated type setting. Making it purely a sci-fi flick was a total mistake. I am interested in the Pitch Black on 4k bc I had no idea it even existed.
Although I may wait for a standard edition, I will definitely grab the 4K upgrade of Torso. I agree that it's on par with the best of Argento, Fulci and Bava.
Watch the DC of Riddick. It's a greatly fleshed out world compared to PB.
Torso is awasome. I'm much more interested and will pickup the Threat and the Spanish director Álex de la Iglesia's box set over Friday 13th remake and the Riddick film. The latter two are a pass for me.
I liked all the Riddick movies but only loved the 1st one. It was pretty original at the time. These are much better releases than the Clash of the Titans. Those movies were definitely flops and then they went and used the original art work for the original Clash that was a better movie trying to trick us into thinking it was actually the original. Lol

I love the remake--even though it *was* bland-ish (the script needed more work). It had so much potential to go in more extreme directions than the original series. Derek Mears made a hell of a terrifying Jason. I also like the NIGHTMARE remake because Freddy was a more realistic homicidal sexual predator. I know that pissed off fans of Classic Fun Freddy, but when you think about what he is, he's not a likeable person and Jackie Earl Haley played that to the hilt.
Yawn on the Friday the 13th remake from Arrow. I got Pitch Black but Chronicles of Riddick pulled an Aliens and went past horror. I may still pick it up. Torso I heard is bonkers crazy and wow lots of T&A!

I’m super excited for Chronicles Of Riddick! I was excited for Friday The 13th until I realized it wasn’t the original. The Paramount 4K of the original is awful in my opinion. Hopefully Scream will do the originals in 4K. I’m not a fan of the remake at all.
Torso is the best announcement, I also watched it on TUBI. Just wish arrow put Dolby Vision on it. Riddik and Pitch Black i😴 boring, never got into them, pass on Vin D.
I preordered Friday the 13th as soon as it went up in Orbit. It's my least favorite in the franchise, but I still like it, and if they can fix the lighting even a little bit, it'll be great. 🤘

I may not be excited for the Friday the 13th remake. However, I am excited to get it because it is the second Friday the 13th that we've gotten on physical 4K. And the one that we got from the Scream Factory box set is just the single disk that New Line Cinema released to us a few years ago. So basically there was nothing new in that boxset. So I'd be excited to see both cuts on separate 4K discs with some new special features that we didn't get originally
You're not getting two separate discs, it's only one disc.
@@user-jh4gj5ps2r on their website it says two discs. So does standard and Killer cut are each on their own separate discs but both in 4k
Hey Ken, I noticed recently that ITunes Australia upgraded Friday the 13th Part 2 to 4K with Dolby Vision, and it looks fantastic, so I think it’s safe to assume Part 2 is on its way to 4K physical.
Hopefully sooner rather then later. Paramount has been good at it though

Friday remake is US only. Maybe Canada. UK is out of luck.
Order via the USA site they will post to the UK still and the postage is cheap.

Why is not Friday the 13th remake is not getting a Warner Bros release on 4K why Arrow Video though and I wouldn’t not expect that and I don’t think I have any Arrow Video at all but oh well and I think I will get it on 4K for a change

i also didnt like the friday the 13th remake i did however like the texas chainsaw remake which i think was done by the same people i am on the fence on this leaning toward passing on it.

Friday The 13th (2009) is definitely underrated and overrated at the same time. Some people say it's just awful, and some people say it's the best in the franchise. In reality, it's a solid entry, although not the best. Good portrayal of Jason with some good kills, but the cast is pretty insufferable. To be fair, you do really want to see them die lmao.
Meh, nothing I'm interested in this month. Arrow has been pretty disappointing this year so far. About the only thing I've been interested in is the Mexico trilogy.

We don’t need everything on 4K especially when you have the movie already and I’m fine just getting the remake on 4K even though I have it on blu ray but I have the original one on 4K but the other one is with the 8 movies collection so I don’t mind having the original and the remake on 4K and that’s good enough for me but that’s just me though lol 😂 bro 😎

All these upcoming releases are from arrow are nothing to write home about & a big pass on these. And the Friday the 13th remake is just ok at best. Bc Warner Bros is going the cheap route on the nightmare on elm street 4k release
Someone needs to tell Ken that these companies CAN'T release what they want. They NEED the rights from the owner. If Arrow put out a Nightmare 4k boxset, Warner Bros. would sue Arrow into ruin.

@@midlevelmediaRights don’t just have to do with the company. Even though Arrow has released many WB titles before, there are some that they just aren’t willing to sell to them. WB still realizes that some of their titles are best released by themselves to make as much money as they can.
