- [CC] The Murderbot Diaries is one of my absolute favorite series. Although it is still ongoing, since the 5th book just came out I wanted to take this chance to talk about why the series is so beloved to me and so many others.

Murderbot is so relatable. I am always rooting for it and it's sense of humor is so delightful. I really want to watch some Sanctuary Moon with it.
So agreed! I'm pretty sure, btw, that Martha Wells has mentioned before what actual TV show Sanctuary Moon is based on (so I suppose you could go watch whichever show that is and sort of approximate it!). I just need more books in this series, stat!
Great video. I just read the six ebooks, then bought all six in hardback (they showed up today), and am enjoying watching book/series reviews. Yours was spot on. Thanks for sharing.
We ended up buying all the hardbacks after reading the ebooks too! It's just one of those series that you want to own. I'm excited about the new book coming out later this year and hope it's just as good as all the previous ones.
The Murderbot Diaries is one of my favorite sci-fi series. I have read the first 3 so far. You explain it so well here. Loved it!
Yay! I'm glad you liked my review of it. It's just such a fun series. I hope you enjoy the 4th & 5th books just as much!
Superb review...the series is truly exceptional..
Gah, I have GOT TO read this series!!! You did such an excellent job not only reviewing each book without spoilers (admirable in itself!), but the how's and why's that you love these books. Thank you for your hard work on this, Shannon!
Seriously, we should like buddy commit to reading Murderbot (for you) and Flavia de Luce (for me)! I just know we are going to love these favorite series of each other's. And yay that you found my review helpful! I just was so excited after reading the most recent one that I couldn't help but do a review video to gush some more about it. 😆
Great review! I have the first book but haven’t read it yet. Bumping it up in my TBR.
Thanks! I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
I listened to the first one and loooved it, but since they’re all too short I wanted to wait until they were all done and buy a bind up with all of them as one book... I have no idea if that’s planned to be released but my point is I’d like to read it all as 1 book. Although there being already 5 out I could go ahead and keep up with them. Great review as always 💕
They're so expensive, too! I don't know if there are plans to release them in a bind-up, but I hope so since that would make them more accessible. I have a feeling this may end up being a long-running series, by the way, rather than something that gets wrapped up in just a few years.
@@ThatsSoPoe ooh then I'd better keep up with it
these sound really great, i am definitely going to try to get around to them!
They are!! I hope you are able to get to them.
I have been wanting to pick up this series!
I hope you get the chance to! It's so much fun.
Did not mention Preservation- the important counterpoint to capitalism- ART also as an academic representative- University of Tidelands is important contratemps
I read the first one this month and really liked it!
Oh, then you're in for a real treat! The 2nd book is my favorite of the novellas (I think the new novel, the 5th book, might be even more favorite). It's going to be such a fun ride for you!
I went camping and grabbed the second book on a whim at the library ..... four to go (Yippee)
You're in for a fun time!!
@@ThatsSoPoe I am fourth in line for book one at the library but that's cool, maybe i'll get it for Xmas? Cheers!
one of the best and plausible science fiction story - worth a proper movie to made from
I could get behind that! I would love to see it as a movie series.
@@ThatsSoPoe John Scalzi has got some proper science fiction adventures to tell with some good dose of humor as a topping
I wonder if anyone else shares my worry that Murderbot is becoming a bit too unbeatable? I kind of wish its ability to hack every single security system it comes across would be reigned in a little.
💜💜💜
Exactly! All the hearts for this one.
