he dropped it for the first time like it was an atomic bomb
I don't know if someone told him it in chat or whatever, but melon is a word that will cause Trip to almost always just kick you out. You can say it a few times before the fighting starts, but not when he's upset and (apparently) if it's the first thing you say to him at the door he'll just shut it (before Jerma I didn't know that would happen).
It's because melons is slang for tits, but I guess they never thought someone would actually use it to refer to the food

Kinda crazy that facade keeps coming back. I remember people getting fired up for this game in forums around 2006, then it made a second comeback in 2011/2012 when the let’s play scene blew up, and then again once recently when people realized how fucking weird this game actually is. Im glad this isn't a game that history forgot.

It also dips into the uncanny valley in pretty much every way, the faces, the voices, the strange apartment layout and decorations. Plus the super-ultra-open ended-ness of being able to type any response is a cool idea. I can see why people keep this game around, it’s really fucking weird lol
