Boy George has one of the most beautiful and underrated voices of the 80's and early 90's. This song was from the movie "The Crying Game" with Forest Whitaker. It's been on my phone playlist ever since.
Gosh, this guy has a voice from heaven ❤ He started with Culture Club and I have been following since 1982, can you believe it 🙂 This is from autumn 1992.
Great reaction! Blessed you! Fun facts - 1) Pet Shop Boys produced this song and that was Neil Tennant (PSB lead singer) on backing vocals, 2) the music video was nominated Best video from a Film at the 1993 Video Music Awards, 3) Boy George was also nominated for Best Pop Vocal Performance, Male at 1994 Grammy Awards, 4) It was the last charting single for Boy George on the Billboard Hot 100 peaking at #15 in 1992, 5) there are a few variations of the music video including one that contains mostly movie clips.
The film was fantastic as is this version of the song, which has backing vocals from Neil Tennant of the Pet Shop Boys. Incidentally, the Pet Shop Boys also produced this track.
@@SaeedReacts.I agree the film is definitely worth watching. Funny that you said his voice sounds androgynous. You’ll see what I mean in the movie! haha
Can’t imagine you’ve not heard at least snippets of George when he was with Culture Club. Karma Chameleon, Do You Really Want To Hurt Me, Church Of the Poison Mind. Would love to hear you dive deeper. Great songs with interesting lyrics.
Another wonderful reaction, Saeed ❤ Thank you! One of my favorites of his is Do You Really Want To Hurt Me? It has a reggae sound to it. I’ve seen him and Culture Club live in concert twice now. The last time was just this past September! He was touring with Squeeze, one of my favorite bands of all time! If you’d like to check them out sometime, try the songs Pulling Muscles, If It’s Love, Another Nail In My Heart, or Cool For Cats. Thank you again for your always thoughtful and enjoyable reactions 🥰💗
it s from 1992. Please watch the Film ...you will never forget it. Trailer here on youtube: The Crying Game | Official Trailer (HD) - Forest Whitaker, Stephen Rea | MIRAMAX
This song ....aaaaaw. Goosebumps. You have to watch the film. It's a masterpiece and this song fits perfect to the plot ...and ther is the best plot twist in Filmhistory ...a must. Greetings from Germany and thank you as always.
I remember when I was a kid loving “Victims” by Culture Club. My friends and I would sing this song in the playground at breaktime when it was in our UK charts. It was really a piano ballad with just George’s voice for most part but then the drums and orchestra would come in with the great backing vocalists. It wasn’t widely released but it’s still my favourite. I would recommend that one 😊
This is a cover of a 1964 song, for the film of the same name. The dreamy hypnotizing "Twin Peaks" vibes was quite popular in early 90s, as was the subject matter of the film. When you watch it you'll know why Boy George was picked to sing the title song. And the film is quite a cool one, I think you'll enjoy, especially when you know nothing about it before, you will be shocked in the midway. 😜
Hi, Saeed😊. As many have stated, you would thoroughly enjoy him with the band Culture Club. His voice is hauntingly beautiful. I followed the band back in the 80's. My favorite was "Time ( Clock Of The Heart)" thank you for your reaction and interpretation of this song. Much love to you and your family ❤️ 🫂
If you want Boy George. Please Please check out Culture Club, 'Victims'. One of their best starring, Helen Terry. I love your channel and your selections. Keep up the great work 👍
How cool! Iwas surprised to hear this song on your channel! I have three versions of this song; the Berry version (from the 60s), the Boy George recording, and one from a scene in the movie. Luv this song so much. The Dave Berry version from the 60s is really cool compared to the 80s version. Nice reaction, my friend.🤙 P..S you should check-out the movie.
So glad you did this one. Today I was thinking about a music related story to this very song. It was in the Movie The Crying Game you can see some snippets of it mixed in there. Well back in the early 90s when I was a teen maybe 14 I loved the song when I heard it in the movie. So I went to the mall as we did back then and bought myself a collection of music I had been wanting to add to my collection. I bought this soundtrack with this song, a Crystal Gayle album, a Leon Redbone album and a ZZ Top album. This kid at the counter maybe 18-20 years old stops mid checking out my items. A mix of cds and cassettes because yep I am that old and dusty.. He looked up at me in front of my friends and said can I ask you a question. He wanted to know why I wanted the music. He thought maybe it was for presents of something. I said nope I am just the youngest and never had control of the radio so I have picked up stuff from all over. My friends thought it was just wild I was not embarrassed and we laughed it up that night. Thank you for remind me of that. I know this is silly long sorry.
btw there is a lead vocal that sounds like a woman on the voice that when I watched the video was a man singing and everyone wrote in the comments that they thought he, the lead singer was female. He is the lead singer and front man for the alternative rock band, The Neighbourhood and the song is, "Sweater Weather." Excellent song and excellent vocal.....really reminds me of Boy George's vocal. If you want to react to it...react to the studio version and then react to the music video later.
I first heard this song sung by Boy George when I saw Neil Jordan's 1992 film "The Crying Game". I've always wondered how Jordan pitched it... "An English soldier (Forest Whitaker) stationed in Northern Ireland during "the troubles" falls in love with a transgender woman and ends up being held hostage by an IRA cell. One of his captors (Stephen Rea) becomes obsessed with his hostage's love interest at the same time his IRA cell is planning an attack." A great film (though it's amazing to me that it even got made!) and a great version of this song by Boy George. Trailer: ruclips.net/video/FRxmK7Q3yF4/видео.htmlsi=fy7IGSROW_eIF0aG
Thanks so much! They are only available in Dutch right now. The trilogy is named "Khan Ontrafeld". The book titles in it are Ontspoord, Ontketend & Ontwaakt.

Beautiful, effortless, timeless vocals. Haunting production ❤
Produced by the Pet Shop Boys. You should check out some of their music if you haven't already.
I didn't know that! I do hear it now that you said it though. Love them. Thanks! ☮️
@@Spiderific me too. And I have seen the movie and listened to this song since 92.BG and PSB were amongst my favourites.
Good suggestion.

Boy George, singer and the star of the band Culture Club. His voice as a young guy was very nice. One hit: Do you really want to hurt me
And Karma Chameleon and Church of the Poison Mind and Miss Me Blind to name a few.
@@snapdragon8888 I loved "Church of the Poison Mind"!

Such a great voice. Brilliant cover song for a really great and ground breaking film.
That the PSB are behind all this is so evident for someones who likes their music. Neil Tennant doing the backing vocals adds to the melancholy.
The instrument was reprising the vocal and it was amazing. Thanks for reacting, I haven't heard this in years and it's a beautiful song.
