I videoed & real time edited all of Chicago’s games that were nationally & locally televised (NY/NJ) during the MJ Era. I was glued to the TV and not even the hotties could get access to me during those times lol
Jordan averaged 43ppg this entire series. That wasn't his highest scoring series of his playoff career. It wasn't even second....nor third. It was his fourth highest. No other player in history has multiple 40ppg playoff series in their careers. Another fun fact....going by game score, a metric which aggregates all box score data to define overall player impact, Jordan's average for this entire series was 35.4 which was the second best of his career (and second best all time for any player). Lebron's highest game score average for a full playoff series was 30.7. Jordan bettered that number 5 times in his career, peaking at 38.4 in a series against Miami. MJ's worst series according to the metric was 18.5 in the 96 Finals. LeBron has had six series worse than that, his worst being 10.6, also in the NBA Finals (07). LeBron has multiple series worse than Jordan's worst and Jordan has multiple series better than LeBron's best. This, along with a multitude of other reasons, is why Jordan is on another level to LeBron and any other player in history...
Absolutely, there’s no other player comparable. Jordan was/is the most prolific scorer in NBA history-facts, not opinion. He wasn’t perfect, but was the perfect player. This game is a great example of his career-his shots weren’t going in, he’s picking his spots on defense-role players stepped up and then he knows on offense AND defense when to go for the KILL. That’s why he’s the greatest player and the rest: past and present are very good.
I miss this. This is basketball, there's so much B.S. today with multicolored courts, uniforms that make it dang near impossible to even know who's playing where! It's ridicules! This is basketball, were the focus is on the game, matchups, composure and the game isn't a layup line or 3's from an area code! Nothing wrong with 3's but the rule changes have made the game a pageant, not a competition.
You are big fan of GOAT23 so I will say to you some stories about MJ which Americans mostly don't know but people in Serbia know. MJ23 played against some players from Yugoslavia. One of them was Dražen Dalipagić ( Hall of Fame, Olympic gold medalist, World Champion and 3 times champion of Europa, Serbian and Yugoslavian legend, probably the best dunker in Yugoslavia in 1970s, early 1980s). North Carolina won (77:70). MJ scored 23 points, Dražen Dalipagić 41 points. That was 1981. in USA. 1982. he played with USA against Europa in Hungary and Swiss. MJ lost 2 times . Dražen Dalipagić played for Europa. Then he go in Yugoslavia and played 3 games against Yugoslavia. Result (2:1 for USA). Games were in Yugoslavia in Zadar ( today Croatia), in Novi Sad( Serbia) and in Belgrade( Serbia). Dražen Dalipagić played for Yugoslavia 2 games. He didn't played in Zadar for Yugoslavia. Next year(1983.) he played in Greece with North Carolina( NCAA champion 1982.) against Red Star Belgrade. He won 105:104 after 2 overtimes .He scored 32 points. Maybe you heard for Euroleague team Red Star Belgrade which playing in Belgrade Arena(attendance: 20 000+ ). One of the best fans in Europa. There is photo of MJ with umbrella in college room. You can see on the wall, pennant of Basketball Club Red Star Belgrade. Fun fact: Dražen Dalipagić is probably only player which scored more points than GOAT23 in games against GOAT23. They played 5 games. 3 won Dalipagić( 2x times with Team Europa, 1 with Team Yugoslavia) , 2 won GOAT23( 1 with USA college team, 1 with North Carolina). Yes, Dražen Dalipagić was in prime, and MJ was young and not yet NBA player. There is video on YT: FIBA 50th anniversary Europa vs USA( with M. Jordan) 18.06.1982
You know a lot of people have said a score-first player like Michael Jordan just can't do it, but I really think he might take Chicago all the way this year.
He also looks to be a genuinely good guy and maybe that's also why everyone likes him so much. Even the 3,4,5 year olds in the UK wear Jordans nowadays lol.
This channel is single-handedly keeping basketball’s legacy alive
The ultimate compliment! Thank you!!
I second that
