As a 70’s kid. My first team was the Steelers. In 76’, I became a Raider fan. I was 5yrs old then. I’ve been down with the Raiders ever since. Jack Tatum looked like my uncles, and John Madden looked like the butcher down the block. AL looked like a mob boss. And they played like gangsters. There was only three teams that mattered. The Raiders, The Steelers and The cowboys. I was very spoiled as a young Raider Fan 3 Superbowls in 7 years. And the last 40 have been hard. But the lifestyle of RAIDERNATION goes beyond the games. I’m gonna be honest I had never even heard of AP until he become the intern HC of the Raiders. I know a lot of players on the Raiders supported and went to the front office and said they wanted him as their next HC. That says a lot of what kind of person he is and what kind of coach he is. It meant so much to me to see Antonio get emotional while talking about his mom, and finding out that she was his best friend. My mom passed away a month ago, so I know what AP means when he's had those moments of asking, "Where she at?". My mom was the person I was closest to besides myself, and to not be able to call her, tell her things and hear her voice or get a text back anymore... I still call out to her sometimes, wishing that she would appear and could comfort me. I was already a supporter of Coach Pierce, but I connect with him as someone who had a close relationship with their mom and doesn't have any siblings to lean on. Thank you for not holding back the tears, AP. I needed to see that losing your mom is even hard for a tough, man's-man like him. Some people don't get how tough it is, but this just reassures me that it's normal to still get emotional about it.

I've been a Raider fan since I was 7 years old. That was back in 1972. Over the last 52 years, I have seen them win championships and stink up the league. As an Eagles and Steelers fan, this is heartwarming to see. Especially considering that I use to play Madden with all of these gentlemen being in the actual games. I will keep an eye out for the Raiders next year for Pierce (and Crosby and the rest of the team). I like the way they played down the stretch this year, just need a QB to tie things together.

Ive been a life long Raiders fan, also grew up repping the starter jackets, loving the Silver and Black. I am so stoked this man is our coach. He IS a Raider. Loved him as a player, and have loved finding out who he is. I'd work for this dude in a heartbeat and am excited to see him build this culture. "I know we aint going undefeated but Everyone is gonna know yall gonna have to deal with us". FVCK yes. Great interview, as always.

AP gives me a lot of AL Davis vibes. Obviously not as careless as he was towards the end of his life, but just how real he is. How he's out to build up underdogs. His commitment to winning. His attitude. AL would be proud for sure
That comment about his mom’s. I’m an only child as well and all of my successes came after she was gone. But when I achieved them all I could say was damn where’s my moms. 😢😢😢

Honestly, I didn't want the raiders to keep him. I'm a Washington fan and SELFISHLY, I wanted him to coach in the nation's capital. He really got the raiders to play for him and I think he is what my team needs. HTTR. Excellent interview as always.

I've been a Raider fan since I was 7 years old. That was back in 1972. Over the last 52 years, I have seen them win championships and stink up the league. I was 18 the last time they won the SuperBowl.

As an Eagles and Steelers fan, this is heartwarming to see. Especially considering that I use to play Madden with all of these gentlemen being in the actual games.
I will keep an eye out for the Raiders next year for Pierce (and Crosby and the rest of the team). I like the way they played down the stretch this year, just need a QB to tie things together.
