- S8E3 had plenty of problems, but the music was not one of them. The music (and the NK's theme in particular) was absolutely stellar. I wanted to show some love for the music and the white walkers, so I decided to do a rendition of Hardhome using the theme!

Just to let anyone who happens to come by this video know (I'd make it as a Community post, but apparently you need 1,000 subscribers for that): I've decided to make another Game of Thrones related video! This has given my channel a huge burst and I've decided to start uploading a few different kinds of videos, but I'd love to still do these types of edits. I won't give any hints, but I'm actually really excited while I'm working on it. I'm hoping to have it up by the end of next week :) But I'm actually moving this weekend, so I haven't been able to devote as much time as I'd like to it. I'll get it done as soon as I can though!

in battle of winterfell there was a moment when Jon wants to go one on one with night king, but night king knew that he could lose one on one fight with Jon thats why he resurrected all the dead at the very same moment.

It would still feel rushed as hell.... The ending was honestly fine.. But GOT should of been a 10 season show at least!! Season 8 should of been an entire season of the Night Kings army just ravaging down Westeros to Kings Landing & bring Winter with them & it should of kicked on from there us seeing more of Brans Flashbacks/Flash wards that would of made him being king make sense & obviously a lot more of Dany slowy turning mad.
It should of had 2 more seasons being fleshed out & it would of been fine, D&D ruined it by telling HBO they could do it in 8 seasons instead of 10 (which is what HBO wanted them to do)

Why it was perfect, the "queen" grew obsessed with saving foreigners so much she came to hate her own people, it's accurate
They just need to make Jon snow the king, and then GoT will end with perfection.

To me, the best ending would have been the NK and his WW horde literally sweeping all of Westeros. No House, no alliance, no one able to stop him. A near total annihilation of all living men until the last stand for humanity at King's Landing, forcing bitter enemies to fight alongside each other in one desperate, last ditch effort for survival... make it feel truly hopeless and depressing until the very last 2 episodes.
I was thinking the same things back then. It would've showed the audience that all of the bickering about the iron throne shouldn't have been the main focus for the people of Westeros, and what happens when you ignore the existential threat, and concentrate on petty little things.

YES!!!! and for a bittersweet ending it would have been nice that Jon Snow would have to kill Daenerys in order for "Lightbringer" to come to life and fullfill the prophecy of azor ahai, and with that have a final all out battle with heavy casualties, and Jon finally killing the night king and becoming the king, where he needs to rebuild westeros after that fight.

Even before the final season started I had this in mind and was wondering if the writers would make the Night King sit on the iron throne and show the viewers that no one is actually left alive to fight for it(all men are dead), bringing a contrast and unexpected nature of how the series was built on in the previous seasons. This would somehow make the fans understand that happy ending was never an option in the first place. They could have showcased the whole of westeros turning into a white snow desert with a dead silence of the army of the dead.
Kills me to watch this man. How mysterious and scary the white walkers were. The genuine fear and panic on everyone’s faces when they hear the rumbling...it they fucking wasted it. Watching this now knowing what happens makes me so sick to my stomach.
I know bro. Game of thrones is the greatest film tragedy of the century.
@@michaelguernsey1206 the whole show is a tragedy if you think about it, they always build up characters to kill them or have them turned into something else, there's rarely happy things in game of thrones

Greatest show ever made, but then DandD decided they didn’t care, and utterly wrecked ALL the good story telling that had been building up for years.

@@theprinceoftides6836, it's not about happy ending lol. Actually how show ended is a happy ending. It's about writing. Issues started in S7EP4. Unrealistic Jon-Daenerys relationships. Jon who was made Targaryen just to add a reason for Daenerys madness. Death of Night King is stupidest thing in Show. And Bran who sayed that he isn't a lord anymore, and then just become a king. And thoose are just the biggest problems of S7&8

Man i wish we got to see a fight between night king and Jon Snow.. Night King actor is litteraly the one teaching everyone how to fight with swords.
For me Hardhome was the GOAT episode. Showed the true enemy what the realm was facing. That's why I am still disappointed how the show ended.
Who would have thought, this was the last time a white walker faced someone, and the stare off was for nothing. This was the best episode of the show.
Jon killed one in season 7
This episode was not the best of the show. It doesn't even come close. The whole fight scene looked very rough. You couldn't see what was going on half the time due to shaky cam. Also all of the scenes before this 'battle' were mediocre at best. The King's Landing attack episode was the best, together with the episode where Ned dies.

@@jackkeane6 He means the one in season 2. Blackwater. One of the best episodes of the show and leagues ahead of Hardhome. Even the best episodes past season 5 don't come close to the best episodes from earlier seasons. The whole atmosphere is wrong. The mystery doesn't feel right. Characters are aren't acting like themselves and the writing was dumbed down. The show peaked at Blackwater. Season 3 was also good, but I think Blackwater was the highlight of the show.
This soundtrack is an absolute masterpiece and Ramin should've won ALL the awards for best music for S8 of GOT!! No matter what opinion you have of that season NO ONE can deny that Ramin carried the season with his haunting and masterfully made music scores!
This and Battle Of The Bastards are probably 2 of my top favorite/best episodes of the series. It’s just so good.
I didn't realize the first time, at 5:25 it looks like Tormund is crying.
The sound track from the series automatically takes you back in time
I like the detail at 5:24 that Tormund is crying. He just watched thousands of his people, no doubt including friends wiped out. He went north to attempt a rescue mission and had to row away and leave all those people behind, knowing they'd be turned. This must have been horrifying for one of the last true leaders among the Free Folk.
The one and only time we have actually seen a White Walker in action... 8 seasons... soo many years has passed and this is the ONLY time we saw them actually fight (despite that short little fight in season 7 against the Jon). In season 8 they did absolutely nothing except sitting on their horses. We haven't even saw a damm main villain Night King fight at all..... what shame did they bring to the last season I still cannot believe...
I've never watched a movie as thrilling and classic as game of thrones. Fabulous work

Man, what a episode this was, absolutely amazing.
I remember this original scene, no sound no background music no nothing, just the deep silent when the Night King reviving his newly dead armies. So terrifying.
The potential this show had to end, because of this episode. Man, it gave me nightmares before the final season came out. I was anxious with anticipation of how it would brutally end. The mist rolls in, the dead come and they do not stop.

For YEARS I always thought of this moment as The Night King seeing the man who would kill him....

Jon's fight with the White Walker and the WW's face when Jon's sword didn't shatter, it was setting up for such an epic and masterpiece of a final battle between Jon and the Night King...and then the writers decided to subvert our expectations with Season 8.
GoT was only there for the world to witness what a legend Ramin Djawadi is. The Mozart of our time.
This was one of the craziest endings ever. That's saying a lot, as throughout Game of Thrones, there were crazy, scary endings. This, was riveting, and let us know that things were about to get real. One of my favorite episodes
This background music made this episode goosebumps, cry, sad,..etc.
If only the episode this beautiful piece aired with was worthy of it.
Miguel Sapochnik & Fabian Wagner has done some incredible work across GoT.
Haha the end makes it seem like we're rooting for the AOTD bc of how uplifting the music gets while the NK is raising everyone up.

This was one of the greatest scenes from the season . The season 8 music was great , fits this scene very well.
The Soundtrack is a Masterwork bro .....a Masterwork .
If you look closely, when Jon killed that WW, the NK moved his head a bit. That was the moment that NK realized that this man is serious. But, moving on the end of the scene, he showed Jon his true powers and what he can do, without saying anything, just moving his hands. Jon then realized that his enemy cannot be defeated, unless they found what can truly kill them.
IMO NK and his cold army wins in Winterfell and moving to KL would be much better and not trivial ending of the show
yes,yes,yes! That would have been a much better twist than that stupid arya mary sue plotarmor scene. A better twist would be if the night king went to kings landing and adding to his army, while the main army attacked winterfell. That would be a very good twist. Another twist should have been that the night king being immune to dragonglass/valyrian steel, since it would fix many plotholes and make much more sense plotwise. Lightbringer would be the only weapon to defeat night king.
It was more ppl in the north than kings landing so if the night king army won at winter fell they wouldn’t have a chance in the kings landing

When you realize the wildlings understood how defensive walls work better than the combined armies of the North, Dorthaki, Unsullied and some of the greatest military minds in Westeros ...

the show may miss but the music always hits
Hardhome was peak Game of thrones. You finally see what the whitewalkers are really capable of. You finally see the scale of the problem, you see why the wildlings are uniting and trying not to fight - to flee south as fast as they can. The 10 last minutes of this episode were more akin to a horror movie than anything else. Nothing could be done but flee. The whitewalkers were shown as unbeatable, smart, patient, powerful. Then you see the night king respawn everyone that just died fighting them. They are not just smart, patient and powerful. Nothing but dragons can kill such an army, everything else is pointless.
If only the show could have made an entire last season of everyone in westeros uniting to fight them, and still loosing over and over again. Until some hard won victory. The whitewalkers deserved a better ending than this.

Battle of the Bastards was terrible. The tactics in that battle were beyond stupid. Did you know the showrunners messed up filming that battle so much, that they didn't film the climax of it? The battle was supposed to be 30% longer, but they didn't have time to film the end of the battle (with the Umbers betraying Ramsay in the middle of the battle) because the showrunners wanted to film every individual shot of the battle in chronological order, for some dumb reason lol.
I'm just now watching through GOT and just finished this episode the other night and DAMNNN! Can't wait to see more of the White Walkers but also very terrified for Seasons 7 & 8 due to fan hate lol

The Night King is the best.
Well the white walkers and the NK deserve some love after all they've tried and still failed. But even though you did a good job on this I don't think Hardhome works with the Night Kings theme song. For me the suspenseful sounds they used for the series were just... perfect. Also I think the sad and depressing NK song fits perfectly for the battle of winterfell but just after all we've seen before. So I think that one fits perfectly for episode 3 of season 8 as well. Interesting idea though. Do you know that "Not today" piece with the choir in it? I've done a short video version (didn't upload it though) of that moment when the NK walks towards Bran using that music and it's so damn epic and dark. But still ... I prefer the original versions. ^^
