It is so strange to see how much graphics work from my own projects are in here lol. Optomon credits me under my old alias "Bit-Blade". I only found out this hack existed a few months ago. A lot of this was from a Castlevania 3 project I abandoned called "End of Destiny". As usual, I see Opto's ASM and music editing are top notch.
Indeed. Chorus of Mysteries was another of his hacks I played that I really loved. As a Metroid fan also, I still need to play his Rogue Dawn hack sometime.
Too bad the game is an unbalanced mess at least the copy we got. Hit detection was bad delayed button inputs barely healing items, enemies that go through walls or get stuck there but can still hit you, bosses that stay on top of you and so many issues and cheap deaths due to how broken the game is
I think this game looks and sounds amazing. I think a couple of the levels even possess their own original musical compositions which I find very impressive. I think the boss designs could probably use just a little bit of work to make them look even more intimidating and scarier, but otherwise, this is fantastic.
I love Castlevania ROM hacks and play through almost every single one especially around Halloween.. but for the life of me I cannot get holy relics to work on any emulator sadly %,(
@@MetalSmasherGaming , I strike Igarashi from canon then. We will see who lasts longer, his work that rejected Castlevania: Legends and the Saturn additions to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, or myself singlehandedly saving the entire Castlevania franchise.
Deborah Cliff , that did it for me!! Anything with a hint of C.V. II always hits that 1988 spot for me!!! WTF, fights Death and reward is a cup of coffee as a treasure?! Sure why not lolz....Even the ole' dead need their Starbucks hit too!!?! Luv it!!!
Just don't hit it with your head, or you'll make a hole. But seriously, I always felt like Castlevania 2 is one of those games that doesn't deserve all the crap it gets.
It looks surprisingly good, but some of the color choices are a bit severe. Pixel art can be subtle in its effectiveness and extreme as necessary with regard to the palette and sprite color combo choices. Still looks awesome; would like to try it on a CRT TV.
@@MetalSmasherGaming I don't hate it either. But the most fans are hating this game. And if Simon's Quest were more like a classic Castlevania like 1 and 3 or this hack, it would be more popular.
So far this really isent half bad. All elements of cv1 are in place but the sprites look a bit goofy and our protags color sort of bleeds into himself. Other than that bravo.

I am so glad to see nobody complaining about "No Dracula", that is good, a vampire hunter can have a good range of enemies instead of just Dracula.
Chorus of Mysteries, another amazing Castlevania 1 hack, had Orlox as its main villain.
@@MetalSmasherGaming , let us not forget that the niece of Dracula was the big bad in Castlevania: Bloodlines/The New Generation as well.

So the final boss not out good ol' Count von Count but The Black Goat of the Woods with a Thousand Young?
This one is one of the easier hacks and one of the very best. It's actually beatable without dedicating 12 years to.
This is a great hack for sure. I love how you can tackle the stages in any order like Mega Man (another one of my favorite classic game series!).
Denis Woods theme sounds so frikin great
Someone make a soundtrack with that if u dont mind
This looks amazing. I’ll play it on my next livestream.
He beat the Grim Reaper and got a cup of coffee... LOL !!
LOL
Hopefully Dunkin Donuts

This was great! thanks for sharing this! SO wanna check out more of your nes and snes "mods."
I don’t make them, I just play them. But I’m glad you enjoy them either way, and I’m glad I could spread awareness of them.
@@MetalSmasherGaming :D
The "new" powers are from Legends
OK. That's a neat little touch. I'm glad to see that although Castlevania Legends was stricken from canon it still left a legacy.
@@MetalSmasherGaming , I strike Igarashi from canon then. We will see who lasts longer, his work that rejected Castlevania: Legends and the Saturn additions to Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, or myself singlehandedly saving the entire Castlevania franchise.
Shadow gate music?
The Final Boss looks like a rejected character from Popeye the Sailor man. Game looks good, though.
Cómo puedo jugar este juego en algún emulador??
Why are there so many versns of castle vania 1?
Am I going crazy or is this actually in 16:9 without any of the assets being stretched? Simon looks like he's not being stretched out to me.
Wow this could have been official. Except that final boss. That was anticlimactic.

@@MetalSmasherGaming Well yes, but actually no.
well, coffee was a very new thing to much of Europe at the time. I'm sure the Belmonts wouldn't have minded a cup or two of this hot new beverage

There is an NES cartridge made of this hack at lostclassicvgs.com.
Simon's Quest how it should be
I don't hate Simon's Quest, though I do agree it is by far the weakest of the NES trilogy. And I also agree, this game did it much better.
@@MetalSmasherGaming I don't hate it either. But the most fans are hating this game. And if Simon's Quest were more like a classic Castlevania like 1 and 3 or this hack, it would be more popular.
Soundtracks are really wonderful. Especially Denis Woods. Any way to find it?
Not sure where to find the soundtrack by itself. I don't think Optomon (the maker of this hack) posted it on his channel.
AMIGO LINK DO DOWLOAD DO JOGO 😀
Esta espectacular el juego pero mi pregunta cómo se llama el Belmont protagonista de este juego ?
Sigue siendo Simon. Se lleva a cabo solo dos años después de Castlevania 1.
how hard you think its this game compared to the original? you think its a good game for a casual fan?
I'd say it's roughly the same as the original. If you can handle the original, you can handle this just fine.
@@MetalSmasherGaming thanks for answering. i played it yesterday, god im so in love with it
@@beniplays25 Definitely one of my favorite Castlevania hacks!
Привет! Классная игра! Есть пропатченный ром?
Не предварительно исправлено, но вы можете легко его исправить с помощью программы под названием Lunar IPS.
The scoreboard looks like Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse.
Would this play on my retron 5
Is there a cartridge for this hack out there somewhere?
MetalSmasherGaming all over the place man. Got my copy a few weeks ago.
unclebugspayton You can play it on the Retron 3 or on the regular NES.
hi! i love hacks"! do you play other hacks? or even SNES? are you able of hacking roms?
I don't know how to hack ROMs myself, but yes, I do play SNES hacks as well.
